Safari Bookmarks Disappeared

I have suddenly lost all of the Safari bookmarks on my IPad Mini. Any suggestions on how to recover them?

I seen that happen a few times. Usually the bookmarks will return if your terminate the Safari App and restart it.
To terminate Safari press the Home button to return to the App screen. Next double-click the Home button to bring up the recent Apps tray. Locate the Safari icon and touch and hold on it untill the "-" appears. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari. Touch the app screen to remove the App tray and restart Safari.

My safari bookmarks disappeared. How do I get them back?

Quit Safari completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Safari icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that didn't work - try this. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

All of a sudden, all my Safari bookmarks on my iPad disappeared. I did not deliberately delete them. I thought I would be able to reinstall them via iCloud (backup)?

  • Safari Bookmarks Disappearing

My Safari Bookmarks keep disappearing every few days. I know how to recover them from Time Machine but it is really annoying having to do it repeatedly. It has only happened since I moved from Mobile Me to iCloud.
Any ideas why this is happening?

I have an iMac, Macbook , iPad and iPhone.
Right now the contents of the Bookmarks Bar on the iMac and iPad have disappeared, but they are still visible on my iPhone.
The same thing happened last week. To solve it I turned off the Bookmark syncing in iCloud Preferences on all devices. I then deleted the bookmarks on all devices, restored the Bookmarks from Time Machine on the iMac and switched Bookmark syncing ON on all devices.
This worked for about 6 days and now it has happened again.
Do you have any idead what could be causing it?

  • Safari bookmarks disappear on iPad ...just overnight

Safari on iPad....bookmarks disappeared over night and system won't save bookmarks now.  It worked great yesterday so did the software break or was an update released last night?  Help please (iOS 6.0)

The exact same thing happened on my iPad over the last day or two … all of my old bookmarks disappeared and were replaced with just the set of default items (Google, Bing, iPad manual, and a couple of others). I couldn't add any new ones at that point, either. Eventually I tried killing off the Safari task in the bottom bar of background apps, and when I restarted Safari thereafter my old bookmarks were back. Definitely seems like a bug, but at least there was a workaround that helped in my case.

  • Safari bookmarks disappear

Brand new iPad 2.  Saved about ten bookmarks in Safari and was using them happily.  About two weeks after doing this, the bookmarks have simply disappeared!  Can anyone point me to possible reasons so I can troubleshoot?
I do not have another Mac device...iPad is the only one.

Do you sync with iCloud? Settings>iCloud>Bookmarks>On?

  • Safari bookmarks disappeared on old imac after buying new macbook

Hi, I am new to these forums. I have an issue with the bookmarks on safari and have not been able to find a solution thus far.
Basically what happened is; I had a lot of bookmarks on Safari on my 2008 iMac. A few months ago I purchased a macbook pro for college and have used my iMac little since. Today I booted up my iMac to find a website I was looking for from my old bookmarks but they were all gone - replaced with the new ones I had made on my macbook. I tried turning off Safari in the settings for iCloud but to no avail.
Does anyone know of another way I can get my bookmarks back?
Btw, I do not have time machine set up, unfortunately...

Is the backup a Time Machine backup or a cloned backup? If the latter, then locate the old /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder and copy it into the new /Home/Music/ folder. Answer "Yes" when asked if you want to replace a folder by the same name. Everything that was in the iTunes folder should transfer to the new machine including all the music tracks that were originally there. If you never put the tracks into the iTunes Library, then they would be elsewhere on the computer or not there at all.

  • Safari Bookmarks Gone

After migrating to iCloud this morning all my Safari Bookmarks disappeared. I backed them up but should I wait to see if iCloud restores them for me?

If you have a Time Machine (or some other) backup, it should not be difficult. Go to user > library > Safari > Bookmarks.plist, and restore from a version that still has the bookmarks. It happened to me as well and this is how I restored my bookmarks. It works.

  • Why are my bookmarks disappearing then reappearing hours to days later?

I have an iPhone 4S. After updating to iOS 6.0.1, my Safari bookmarks disappeared. They reappeared, but they continue to disappear. They'll comeback at random times - sometime hours, sometimes days later. Anyone experience this and/or know the solution? Thanks!

    Interesting never noticed that before.
The pins on the images in the film strip are toggled on and off by the menu item Show Place badges, under the gear,
Why that is toggled on when you select an image, view it and drop back to film strip mode is unknown.  Doesn't seem to be a use for it. If the badges are a problem you can toggle them off by going to this menu. If you need them on before going to view mode you can toggle them on here.
You could report this to Apple Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback as a bug.

OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
    On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options

  • After upgrading to Yosemite web icons in Safari bookmark list have disappeared

After upgrading to Yosemite web icons in Safari bookmarks have disappeared. Anybody know how to reset this?

    Hi ..
The webpage icons database may be corrupted as a result of the upgrade.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Safari/WebpageIcons.db
Click Go then move the WebpageIcons.db file to the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.
It may take up to a day for your webpage icons to re populate.

  • All of my bookmarks in safari have disappeared instead I have bing, apple support, google. I want my bookmarks back how do I get them back?

My ipad2 safari bookmarks have disappeared being replaced by the options of Bing, Google, Yahoo and apple support. How do I get all of my bookmarks back?  I have gone back to the history and found some of them but when I try to bookmark again they are not in the bookmarks. How do I go back to the original safari bookmarks?

In iTunes, you should have the "sync Safari Bookmarks" box checked. If this is checked and the bookmarks still do not sync, then I'm not sure where the issue lies. Are your bookmarks still present on your computer Safari?

  • All of my safari bookmarks have disappeared from all of my apple devices and I did not delete or move them

My safari bookmarks have disappeared from all of my apple devices and I have not deleted or moved them. Any ideas on how I can recover them?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    ~/Library/Safari
    Quit Safari.
    Select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window should open. Restore the file named "Bookmarks.plist" in that folder from a backup that predates the unwanted changes.
