Safari bookmarks not syncing in iOS 8.0.2

Safari bookmarks stopped syncing at least since 8.0.2 (not sure if it already broke in 8.0.1).
I have this configuration
iPhone4,1 (4S)
iOS 8.0.2
OS X 10.9.5
iTunes 11.4 (18)
I read that to sync bookmarks you need 10.8 or earlier, but that doesn’t make any sense to me, I won’t use iCloud for that.

I restored my iPhone to no avail. Any ideas?

I recently upgraded Mountain Lion to Mavericks. Until now it's been disappointing. I read about these so-called syncing features too late.

  • Bookmarks not syncing on Ios devices

I have iCloud.  Syncing seems to work fine between my mac, my ipad and my iphone for addresses and calendar (thank god) but for some reason, my bookmarks do not make it over.  If I go into icloud on the ios devices (ipad, iphone) and turn bookmark sync off, they disapear and they reappear when i turn it back on, yet the latest bookmarks or changes to bookmarks do not go onto the ios devices. it seems that only an old set of bookmarks is syncing.
    any idea?
    thanks for your help.

It is set up as far as i know. check screen shot:

  • Safari bookmarks not syncing to Mac via iCloud - Syncing works between iPhone and iPad.

My iPhone and iPad both have the Safari iCloud option set to 'ON' in my devices settings. My bookmarks sync between my iPad and iPhone correctly but bookmarks do not synce between my Mac and my two devices.
In iTunes, when I have either my iPad or iPhone connected it says: 'Your bookmarks are being synced over the air from iCloud.'
What setting am I missing to get my bookmarks to sync properly from and too my Mac?

Go to the Apple menu >> system preferences >> icloud.  Make sure you're logged in with the same apple ID as you are on the other two devices.  If you're already signed in, you can click on Account details to verify that.
Then, make sure you have safari checked off in the icloud preferences.  If you already do, uncheck them for a minute or so.  Then recheck them.
    See if that helps.

  • Pc Safari bookmarks not syncing with icloud

    HI
I installed the icloud utility on my Windows Vista PC and ticked the box to sync only the bookmarks.
However when I add bookmarks to my MacBook it doesnt update the PC version.
    My ipad and iphone updates.
    Help please

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around
You must upgrade Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud so that's not the issue with the bookmarks since you are running Snow Leopard.
Open System Preferences > MobileMe then select the Sync tab and make sure Bookmarks is selected.
Now select the Advanced tab then click Reset Sync Data.

  • ITunes 11.1.1 will not sync with ios 7.02 - "waiting for changes to applied"

iTunes 11.1.1 running on MacBook Air will not sync with ios 7.02 - "waiting for changes to be applied". I have been having this issue since upgrading to 11.1. I thought the upgrade to 11.1.1 will take care of it

Anyone having this same problem? I need my iPad to sync! efclvkjhbsdfvlkj
Yes, my iPhone 5 running ios 7 will not sync in *any* way with itunes now.  I can neither add nor remove content via itunes.  I just tried to delete 100% of my music from my iphone, it hung forever on "Waiting for changes to be applied" and then when it was finally done... no changes had been applied.
I can't add, remove, change, delete or in any way of any kind sync my iphone with itunes any longer.
I'm becoming the person who refuses to update to the new Apple OS.  I used to get very excited about new OS updates.  That all ended around Mountain Lion.  Yesterday when I saw that Mavericks was out I wasn't excited.  Instead I felt a sense of dread, and for good reason.  Every time they release an OS in the last few years it's just a cluster-F.

  • Bookmarks not syncing on iPhone after iOS 4.3 update

I have the following problem since the iOS 4.3 update on 1 iPhone 3GS and 2 iPads (no problem on iPhones 4)
If I attach device to iTunes and start syncing, everything seems synced except the bookmarks. I get either messages:
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPhone "name" because an error occured while merging data.'
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPhone "name" because the bookmarks are in use bu the iPhone.'
If I do a second sync - without quiting iTunes - the bookmarks are synced.
Any idea how to solve this ?

Any update on this. All problems started with the update to iOS 4.3. It is with first sync only after connecting to iTunes Mac. After a second sync I get no error
I also found below solutions but they don't help:
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2161044
"On your phone, open Safari, close any pages by hitting the red X, then force quit Safari(Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then press and hold the Home button until the application quits.). Then go to Settings, Safari, Clear Cookies, Clear Cache, Clear History. See if this fixes the problem. ?

BTW Also did a restore but still have the error

I have the same problem, but it was after buying a new Mac and setting up syncs.  The bookmarks from the iPad disappeared and were not syncing through MobileMe, although it is working on my iPhone 4, so I turned of the MM sync and tried iTunes.  After trying just about everything suggested in this thread (hard boot, clearing caches etc, shutting off all multi-tasking, getting rid of the Mozilla app, and so on) when I sync with iTunes I still get the message: "iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad xxxx because the bookmarks are in use by the iPad."
How does one shut down whatever is using the bookmarks?

  • Safari Bookmark non-Sync Fixed with 10.9.2?

I have multiple iOS devices, and three desktop OS computers.  About 6 months ago bookmark syncing between all of the devices became non-functional. Tried all the fixes suggested in the forum to no avail.  Finally gave up on it and over time each device had their own unique set of bookmarks.  Safari iCloud sync remained enabled on all the devices, but it appeared the changes were just ignored.
I incorportated 10.9.2 along with the companion iOS change a couple of days ago, and to my surprise Safari bookmark sync with iCloud was working again immediately.  The resultant merged bookmark was initially pretty messy, but at least it was identical on all the devices now.  I subsequently corrected one set of the bookmarks, and these changes were properly imported into the remaining set of devices.
Keeping my fingers crossed this was a real fix, and not a fluke.

  • Internet Explorer 11 bookmarks not syncing with Ipad/Iphone

Hello. I have an Iphone 5 along with an Ipad Mini. Both are updated to the current IOS 7.1.1. I am using Internet Explorer 11 on my Toshiba Laptop for syncing booksmarks and such through Icloud to my devices.
I am having an issue with the bookmarks on my Toshiba laptop syncing with my Ipad and Iphone. Both my Ipad and Iphone book marks sync together in perfect unison, but my Internet Explorer bookmarks do not sync.
    What I have tried:
    Shut down/Restart all devices
Turn off safari in Icloud for Ipad/Iphone
Restarted internet application on all devices
Unchecked, then rechecked the box for syncing bookmarks in Icloud
Deleted synced bookmarks on Ipad/Iphone, then re-added them through Icloud
Once I delete the synced bookmarks, the bookmark tab on the Iphone/Ipad are empty, but once I sync them back up, the old bookmarks come through.
    My main goal:
I want my Toshiba laptop bookmarks to be the exact same as my Iphone/Ipad bookmarks. I want my Ipad to be the center of attention essentially, followed by the Toshiba laptop and the Iphone, meaning I want the Ipad to be the base for all the bookmarks, then the Iphone and Toshiba laptop can follow suit and take the bookmarks from the Ipad and transfer them to the laptop and Iphone. Currently, I have many of the same bookmarks on both the Toshiba Laptop along with my Iphone/Ipad, but the more recent add`s/deleted on either Iphone/Ipad or Toshiba laptop are not syncing.
    Any help is appreciated.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Icloud bookmarks not syncing

I have four (4) apple iOS devices and an iMac.  Recently, I've discovered that bookmarks captured on the iOS devices are not being synched with the iMac bookmarks.  They are synching across iOS devices, but not on the iMac.
    Thanks.

On the iMac, open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Safari then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.
If that didn't help, on the iO S devices, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Safari off then back on.

  • IPhone Bookmark not syncing, never have.

So I have a new 8GB iPhone 3G, but previously had a 4GB iPhone 1.0. My bookmarks have pretty much NEVER synced. Short of the typical things (reset sync data, unregister computer, etc.) is there a magic file I can delete out of the library to reset this? It worked for my contacts not syncing so I was hoping there was an answer for the bookmarks too.
It's not a big deal but it would be nice!

I thought this was happening with me too. However, then I noticed when I click the bookmarks icon in the bar in Safari, on the left hand side my iphone bookmarks appeared in the folder i had created. I just didn't have those bookmarks actually in the menu of safari on my mac. Maybe you already knew this...

  • Safari bookmarks not synching. help please...

    HI
I've spent ages reorganising my safari bookmarks on my macbook, however they are not uploading to icloud and therefore not synching with my ipad.
I've turned off the bookmark synching on the ipad and turned it on again, but I just get the same few bookmarks that I had before, not the ones from my macbook.
    can anyone help?
    thanks

This is a .Mac Sync issue, not an iSync issue. Try asking in the .Mac Sync forum.

  • Safari bookmarks not sychronized

  • Calendar not syncing on iOS 7, now calendars have disappeared.

    Hi all,
Just recently I noticed my Calendar on my iPhone 4 with iOS 7 was not syncing correctly.
My Mac and iCloud.com are correctly in sync.
After following the troubleshooting steps (iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar) I got to the stage where I deleted the calendars on my iPhone as part of the process of turning off my iCloud calendars, and turning them back on. I had backed them up, and they still work on my Mac and iCloud.com.
Now I have no calendars on my iPhone, and can't seem to add any new ones, or get the sync to work. Ive tried all the steps in the troubleshooting.
Has anyone experienced and solved anything similar?
    Thanks!
    Jon

If you haven't already tried, save your photo stream photos to your camera roll on your phone, then delete you iCloud account and sign back in.  To do this, saving your photo stream photos by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, scroll down and tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from your phone, not from iCloud), choose Delete from My iPhone and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud).  Wait a minute or so, then sign back in (your data will download back to your phone).  Then test your calendar syncing again.
