Safari browser crashing

Question

Please help, Safari crashes on my 7.0.4 iPad. It is usually on Facebook but also when using some Apps as well. I have been checking for an update each day as hoping that would stop this happening..

Since you have posted this recommendation a couple of times on different forums, I'd like to point this out.
The only place a 'Reset' is recommended for an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) that is unresponsive and not able to be powered off normally per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Why is this? A reset is the equivilent of holding down the power button on your computer or yanking the power cord out of the wall.  Any data that is currently being accessed at the time this is performed is liekly to become damaged or corrupt.  Doing a reset simply powers the device off and if held long enough (til the Apple Logo comes up) it will attempt to reboot.  A normal power off by holding the Sleep/Wake (Power) button and sliding the red bar does the same exact thing as a reset but stops data communication before cutting power off (this is what is happening when you see the gear spinning while powering down).
So my recommendation is to only recommend a reset for an iOS device if the device is unresponsive.  When in doubt, try to back you recommendations with Apple created articles.  This will help keep the person you are helping form loosing or corrupting data or the iOS software unnecessarily.
