Safari can not access lokal Webserver
Hello,
we are using a locally installed wiki server (TWiki) for collecting information. My problem is that I can not access the webserver with OS X using Safari or Firefox. With my Windows PC it's no problem.
Safari says:
Safari kann den Server nicht finden.
Safari kann die Seite „http://ta-lab122/bin/view/“ nicht öffnen, da Safari den Server „ta-lab122“ nicht finden kann.
Safari can not find the server.
But the server is pressent in the Network on Finder. Does anybody has an Idea what service I have to activat? On other Mac PC in the Network it's also not working
HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Try using Open DNS
Click the OpenDNS Basic... it's free. Just follow the instructions.
See if that will help...

Safari can not access any secure (HTTPS) web pages
Does anyone have an idea why a good frined of mine using Safari 1.3.2 on a Power Book G4 with Mac OS 10.3.9 can not access any secure web pages (those that start with HTTPS)? I can not find any preferences that might control this. She can access the pages with IE but not Safari. What setting on her computer might control this? Any ideas would be appreciated. I even through away (com.apple.Safari.plist) file. Not change. An ideas??
I have the same problem! However, this is ONLY while running wireless internet. Anytime I want to use an HTTPS site, I have to plug directly into my router, so I'm not wireless anymore, and then it works fine. Every now and then (like maybe 5% of the time), I get lucky and it will work for a short while such as logging into yahoo mail for example (logging into here didn't work at first but after waiting a bit, i was able to log in), but trying to stay on a secure connection such as a bank accnt. is impossible.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Everyone I've asked says they've never had the problem. I thought I was the only one.
I checked my proxy settings -- nothing is checked. I've tried deleting preferences and I reset safari often. -
IPod Touch.
I can not access the internet thru Safari or a link on an email. I also can not access my contacts.Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

My ipod touch 4G got problem after update to iOS 6, it can not access the Apps store ,can not access safari, map, weather and so on, could someone help me to solve the problem, thanks in advance~~~
Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I deleted safari off my computer. I can not access the Internet at all. Any idea how to wt it back?
The app is not found at all in my computerIf you’ve deleted or damaged the Safari application, you don’t have a backup, and you don’t have another web browser, proceed as follows.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window:
open /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/.SafariArchive.tar.gz
Press return. The Archive Utility application will launch and run briefly. When it exits, enter the following line in the Terminal window the same way as above:
sudo cp -R Downloads/.SafariArchive/Applications/Safari.app /Applications/
Select the whole line by triple-clicking it, then copy or drag it to the Terminal window. Press return. This time you’ll be prompted for your login password, which won’t be displayed when you enter it.
There should be no output from the above command. If that’s the case, launch Disk Utility, select the boot volume and run “Repair Permissions” (not “Repair Disk.”) This is one of the few times there’s a reason to do that.
Next, two more commands in Terminal:
chmod -R -N Downloads/.SafariArchive
rm -r !$
Those are two separate lines; press return after each one. You can then quit Terminal.
Test Safari. If it works, you’re done. If not, you did some other damage to your system and need to reinstall. -
I can not access preview mode in safari
Choosing file > Preview takes me somewhere else and I can not access preview mode at all. Every time I select preview it takes me to some strange site with att and my first name in it. Very Frustrating.
I am using the latest upgrade for Muse 2014, so I don't think the version is to blame. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and what did you do to resolve it, and did it work?Hi
When you click on preview, what is the url in the browser? Also, Muse uses the default browser of the OS, so is it possible to change the default browser and test it again to see if it works. -
I can connect my iPhone to my work wifi but when I try to connect my IPad it will not connect. It says safari can not open page. What's up with that I have used IPad connected to work wifi before

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

MAC OS X 10.6.8 (safari can not verify website)
Hi
For past few days i am having problem when i try to visit any website it show a massage "safari can not identify the address of the website www..... then below he message is "The certficate of this website is invalid". this message is coming up on all the website
thank you for your helpRunning the combo updater should fix this for you. It should update the certificate that is out of date that is at the root cause of the problem.
You posted in the Snow Leopard forum so here is the link for Snow Leopard combo. Check under the Apple in the Menu bar > About this Mac to verify you are on 10.6
Combo updater: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update v.1.1 - 1.09 GB
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
If you still see the error after running the combo updater, open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities.
Under Keychain Access in the Menu bar select run Keychain First Aid (see FIX for: "Safari can't verify the identity of the website" - certificate not valid for more details on running Keychain First Aid to repair certificates) -
I am currently using my Iphone 4 in wifi networks only after canceling my cell phone plan. Over the weekend I did the IOS6 update on the iphone as well as updated my macbooks itunes and OS X operating systems updates that were available. Since that my iphone's safara app won't connect. After it trys to connect for a minute or 2 I recieve the message: "safari can not open page because server stopped responding". However ALL other apps that require the phone to be connected to wifi for use work properly, i.e app store, imessage, pinger, facebook, etc. I have checked all network setting and they looked right to me. Anything I'm missing, ideas to try, or am I sol (lol)? Safari worked perfectly before the update so I thought I might have done something wrong or forgot to change some type of setting.
Thank you!If you can access Facebook while on Wifi at home, but you are unable to access it while away running on your carrier's 2G network, I could phone your carrier. You have already completed the Cellular Data troubleshooting for the iPhone, so any limitations keeping your from connecting to Facebook over cellular will have to be answered by your carrier.

When I tried to redeem apps via FreeAppDaily (app) and FreeMyApps (web) today.
when it jumps from FreeAppDaily and FreeMyApps to the redeem page, It pops up "URL is invalid, so Safari can not open the page".
I had successfully redeem apps in FreeMyApps previously.
I tried to restart, change wifi network, clear cookie and reset network setting, but they are useless.Yes, I can access other Web sites in Safari
I can download free apps through FreeAppDaily and FreeMyApps.
for FreeAppDaily, I get the redeem code from the app and then redeem the app from AppStore sucessfully.
but for FreeMyApps, I sent a email to the developer, the thier reply cannot solve my problem.

7 march 2014: can not access my icloud.
And cannot access my iCloud means?
Explain what you are trying to do. If you are trying to log into iCloud.com on the iPad using the Safari browser, that won't work.
There was an interruption in some iCloud services in the US earlier, but that appears to be cleared up now.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
