Safari can't run youtube or open jpeg attachments

The latest safari can't run youtube. Just get black box. Also websites with jpeg attachments don't open. Just blank page. Turned extensions off. Reinstalled flash. Ran permissions repair. Could this be something with java? Use to work.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try installing Perian from http://perian.org/
You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs. In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/

I don't believe the last Thunderbird update worked, there was a very fast error message. But since then I cannot open jpeg attachments in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. If I go to Tools, then options, the jpeg line is grayed out, and the drop down menu does not show Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. The windows picture and fax viewer still works on my computer, but not for opening attachments.

I did as you said - deleted the entry for jpeg, but when I tried to open one there is not an option for Picture and Fax Viewer in the drop down, and it can't be found by browsing. It's just not there anywhere even though I can see pics in it except in email attachments.

iOS doesn't truly multi-task, so you can't run one app in one window and another in a separate window. There are probably some good reasons for this, including battery life, but you'd have to ask Apple:

I just hooked this thing up to my computer and was able to load new apps and update via the app store that way, installing them onto the iPad via sync. Very annoying though as I cannot make in app purchases etc still.

I CAN open email jpeg attachments from a POP account on my iPhone 4s (IOS 5.0.1) but NOT from my IMAP account. Is this a known bug? Open remote images is set to "On". No problems on my old iPhone 3Gs.

Absolutely, but can't immediately find how to contact them and their website only gives FAQs and Troubleshooting Guides that don't include this problem. Just hoping that a fellow iPhone user has a solution.

Safari can't connect Youtube account

I did Mac software update To Safari 5.1 August 30, 2011 and started get tons of WebProcess pop ups and NOW Safari can't connect to my youtube account. Does anyone have the same problem and/or does anyone have a solution?

I've been battling this for weeks, and just solved my issue about 5 minutes ago.
In my case, it was simply due to blocking Google-Analytics with Little Snitch. As soon as I unchecked the box, YouTube (and other affected sites) loaded fine again.

Well, Christmas season is here, and I am buying an used PowerBook G3 Pismo, and I have a question.
I might get a model with the following specs, 400Mhz PPC G3, 256MB of Ram Pismo. I know my old 2001 iBook G3 could not play YouTube with a normal frame rate, should I expect worst results with this Pismo Machine? my iBook g3 had 500Mhz PPC g3 and 320Mb of ram, should I buy a Pismo model with higher specs?

The Pismo will run YouTube, but not as well as later PowerBooks will. Because of the slower video RAM the sound and video will be out of phase. The faster processor and more RAM will help, but cannot compensate for the video RAM. If watching YouTube is the main reason for getting the Pismo it may not be worth it unless the price is right and you are not fussy. The video RAM is the main drawback with the Pismo, so if you have other reasons for getting it, like word processing, internet work, iTunes etc. it might be worth it, depending what you have to pay for it.

Can't see, quickview or open email attachments...

iPad 2-I can receive emails fine, but cannot see, quickview or open email attachments. I've been sent PDFs and can see a paper clip icon in email list view, but no PDF icon in the email.

How about something really crazy and unheard of?
I have two email accounts with Google Mail. Both are the only ones set up in the Mail app inside my iPad2. One would load everything: .jpeg, .docx, .pdf, and everything. The other would not.
I tried hard reset multiple times, deleting both email accounts and hard resetting. I cut all processes using SBSettings and killed all processes related to mail. So I have nothing running now, and I deleted all of the readers, Doc to Go, Quick Office, and other apps I had added.
Now I have nothing running and no apps installed.
Then I set up mail again from the bottom, as if the iPad came in the mail today. One gmail account still automatically opens and previews .jpg attachments, and show .doc, .pdf attachments with their respective icons. THE OTHER GMAIL ACCOUNT IN THE SAME iPAD MAIL APP DOES NOT OPEN THE SAME MESSAGES I HAVE FORWARDED TO BOTH. I would see an arrow pointed down in the icon inside that "faulty" mail account, and the name of the attachment below the icon. I have pressed my finger a gadzillion times on those icons, only to see the spinning wheel briefly and nothing. Holding them down would do nothing, and i can't open in other apps.
The wackiest thing is... when I hit forward (by tapping the curved arrow at the top), I get a drop-down choice list: "INCLUDE" and "DON'T INCLUDE" attachments. When I tap on INCLUDE, .jpg files immediately load and show in the reply message, only two of four .pdfs load and open, but no .docx attachments would.
How would we be supposed to troubleshoot or fix something like this?

Solution for me was changing the "Load Remote Images" setting, shutting down and restarting the phone. The old messages with problems reloaded with all attachments accessible.
Background: I began having this problem recently with PDF, jpeg,vcf files and apparently now, all attachments as well as email with html links are coming through with no attachment or as empty email. This was a new problem for me. I have been backing up to the cloud, but not using a cloud email account. I have multiple accounts on the phone, six of them actually and have been set up this way for over a year without problem. Some are imap, some pop, none are through exchange.

I don't think it would be iOS. I'm sure you have already tried many things such as restarting the iPhone. You can try any of the options you stated, but I'm not sure on a fix because I've listed everything I can think of. If the problem persists, you should book an appointment at the Apple genius bar and they should be able to fix it quickly.

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
Check Flash Version

Mail won't open jpeg attachments

On my MBP, sometimes I'll get emails with a few jpeg photos attached. It won't open all of them. Sometimes it will let me open and save 3 or 4 of them, but not the rest. Anyone know what's up? Any of the things I've tried (right clicking, clicking Save as, or attemtping to do a drag & drop into iphoto) doesn't work.

The files are intact. If people CC them to my Dell (hotmail account) or my work email, they'll open. I would like to toss the Dell soon but I need to get this thing figured out with my MBP first.

I can't say that I know whether that's normal behavior for Safari, but it's easy enough to find out.
Boot into Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in Recovery, you'll have no access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so make a note of those before you begin, if they're needed for the test.
Test. After testing, reboot as usual and post the results.
