Safari cant access my page

After the latest update on my site, I cant get it to open in Safary or connect to it using Transmit. On my other mac, on the same internet connection I can and others can.
I have deleted preferences, reset safari, but dont know further.
Can anyone help.

Hey man, I have this same problem and it all started with 2.0.2. This is the worst update Apple could have given us. I love Apple products, and I loved my iPhone 3G until this update. I think 2.0.2 has caused more bugs than it claims to have fixed. Safari doesn't work anymore (3G or WI-FI) and I can barely pick up 3G unless I'm outside or near a window (whereas before 2.0.2 I could get 3G even in the underground tunnels of my university campus). My iPhone is no fun anymore and actually pointless, I might as well revert back to my original RAZR v.3, at least that thing worked as it was designed to.
I hope Apple issues a new update that just cancels out 2.0.2 and reverts back to 2.0.1....that one worked absolutely fine (at least I got no crashes of any kind with that version).

Safari cant access Facebook

Just updated my 2010 iMac to 10.8.2, purely to use iCloud calendar syncing with my iPhone and wife's iPad, now cannot access Facebook site at all from Safari on the Mac (...Safari cannot access the server www.facebook.com...), dont even get as far as logging in. Followed a few previous threads and tried reset Safari, delete cookies, clear caches but no good. Only Facebook is affected, but we can still access the accounts from our phones/ipads. Any help please?? Thanks

Try using another browser.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

when i try to go on a website all it says is safari can't find the page. Any help? if you had this problem can you tell me how to fixs the problem

There are a few problems you may be experiencing. What URL are you trying to access? Do you have a screenshot?
Here are some possibilities which will narrow things down to help find the solution:
1. You aren't connected to the Internet
2. The server of the website you are trying to access is down
3. You are trying to go to an invalid URL such as apple.com/apple, or apple.hd

Safari right now will not access any login page, citing "because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server". I had a harddrive fail recently and had installed a new one (120 GB replacing an 80 GB) and thus had to reinstall OS Tiger onto the new harddrive. At the same time, I upgraded my RAM by adding another 512 MB chip. I went through all the updates and everything seemed to be fine until I noticed Safari couldn't access any login page (gmail, netscape, apple ID, etc.). Before the failure, everything was working perfectly. Then the next time software updater ran, every time it tried to install something it would hang up before it finished. I have emptied the caches, the history, set cookies to always accept, reset safari, and removed the plist. Nothing has worked thus far and I am avoiding reinstalling Tiger.
I am using SBC DSL, and a friend had almost the same setup as me (except he has a G4 PowerPC with the mirrored doors) and he has no problem with it.
I know I can use Firefox and IE, but I hate those browsers and would like to use Safari. I also really would like to download the latest updates.
Other than that, I have not had any problems.

did this worked fantastic as a number of other applications have also freed up it had started with safari then software update, text edit, imovie etc i also have x509 certificates that i have put into the trash what are they and should i bin these as well

Safari cant open some pages

I have OS10.6.2 in several computers and it works fine in all but my main machine the Macbook Pro,
where it tells me Safari can't open certain pages, including it won't let me log in to these discussions. Has similar problem with Firefox. Most troublesome - can some kind person help? Have tried all the usual troubleshoot moves. Thanks, Rudd.

Hi, my powerbook has recently been repaired but since I have not been able to get onto Hotmail and a few other sites, could this be something to do with cookies settings. How do I fix this problem.

I have had no msn related cookies stored, the one thing that may differ from other users that Can Not log in. I have logged in & out while I compose this message w/ out clearing the cookies, so it might be just the first initial Sign in after their change.
Use to be cookies had to be set to ALWAYS to log out properly from MSN, that however seems not the case any longer. Safari article on how to Sign out of MSN
So, clear all cookies related to MSN, Passport for the first initial log in,
( perhaps corrupt or outdated ) Then Sign in MSN (use this link; ) Then pick a Category under Welcome -> Upper left corner. Browsing away ( for instance I did back & forth to this thread ) MSN / Hotmail will require a login again, annoying !
Make sure you are not using "Private browsing".
Any Proxies? Third party firewalls?

If you use iPhoto or Aperture, your photo library will automatically be converted to Photos format, and if you use iCloud Photos, a large amount of data may be uploaded to Apple. That will slow down Internet access for some time.
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:

Ive been trying to open research articles through google scholar, when i click to open the page it doesnt load and comes up with Safari cant open the page, too many redirect occured trying to open (then the web address). This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which is then redirected to open the original page.
This also happens when i access the databases through my universitys library web page - and it still wont let me load even the actual webpage let along particular article.
This is happening on my ipad as well - but this is not happening on my iphone or on my other lap top which is not an APPLE.
i know its not my internet as i used the same internet on the other comp and i also used it as wifi and without out wifi on my iphone.
PLEASE HELP! i need to study!!

Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Remove website data.

Safari wont open bookmarked page, "invalid address"

Problem with iPad2. Safari is my browser. Running latest ios.
I have had my photobucket page saved as a bookmark for a couple of years. And until recently no problems accessing photobucket thru that bookmarked url.
But recently, when i select that bookmark, the photobucket page opens briefly and then a popup message says "safari cant open this page, address is invalid". Meanwhile the page is clearly open there in the background, with various items changing etc as normal. I clicked the OK button in the message, but it immediately reappears and will not go away. Safari is then effectively stuck and the only way i can clear it and navigate to any other url is to close, open email, find a link to another url, and click that, this starts Safari on a second page and i can then close both pages if I am quick.

I have tried clearing history, cookies, and deleted the original bookmark and searched for photobucket and clicked on the link in the search results, but as soon as i get to the photobucket page the same thing happens.
I can access the same photobucket page via my PC without any such problems. So its clearly a problem with Safari or something on my iPad.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

It seems to be caused by Javascript. If you disable it in settings/safari the pop up window will not appear. However the drop down menus etc will not work without Javascript. Best option is to download "Chrome" or "Mercury" or wait for Photobucket to fix it:)
If you enable the "De Bug" console it will sometimes work. I am currently using an Ipad 1 with OS 5.1.1 but the problem also happens on an Ipad 3 with OS 7

Safari error wont open page invalid address

Ok, have tried several ways to sort this issue. Until recently, no issues opening my page on Photobucket via safari. But recently, photobucket page will load, but then a popup message immediately appears that says Safari cant open the page because the address is invalid. Have cleared history. No luck. Thebpage is loading, but then basically the abovementioned message comes up, i can click oK but it immediately reappears and will not go aay. Have to reboot Safari and clear page before it loads otherwise cant use safari.
Any ideas of a solution?

Also, note that i have tested the same address on PC and it works fine. Typed address into search bar and again, the page opened but then the message came up and will not go away.
So, i know that the page address is correct and works on other systems, just not on my iphone or ipad. Both have the latest software update installed.

I had to use my phone to post this very message since I could not access this page on my Mac Mini .
I get similar messages when trying to check my Gmail .
This only occurs on my Mac Mini , not on my other computers that are on the same wireless network. My Dell laptop and desktop have no problem accessing mail or other sites

1) Disable all your add-ons
2) Delete your history and cookies
3) do you use the password manager? If so, delete your passwords
4) If nothing works, backup your profile (optional), and create a new one

What I did was a hard reset... (hold reset for 10 or 30 seconds then while holding, unplug unit then release reset button. After 10 more seconds, plug unit back in.)
Between that and using the TFTP program, I was able to get back into my management screen. You will have to reconfigure your router after that. Be sure, if you have a dedicated ip on your computer, you temporarily set it to obtain everything automatically incase your set ip doesnt correspond to the default settings for your router. Then once everything is back up, you can change you ip settings on your PC back to what you had, if any.

Changing body text is not simple. It's a desperate last resort. You need to buy the exact font. Acrobat will not let you edit in a font you don't own. Even then, it's undertain. Consider preparing an overlay in InDesign.

I have disabled Silverlight after seeing that suggested somewhere. That didnt help.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
