SAFARI COMPLETELY LOST ABILITY TO LOAD IMAGES

.... no idea what happened but all the images from all sites just won't load anymore .... this is what Safari looks like http://grab.by/nAog
Chrome works fine. I have never seen anything like this before. It's the latest 6.05 on a brand new iMac with the latest 10.8.4
Truth be told I'm freaked out. [tried numerous retsarts, clearing caches etc - nothing helped]
I'll load the combo upgrade but anybody have any ideas?

no worries.... 'disable images' seemed to be selected [I did not do this.... spooky]

  • Safari & Chrome lost ability to play flash videos

Everything was working fine on my 2013 macbook air until one day, no videos on any site will play (i.e. youtube, dailymotion, vimeo, etc). I have no idea why this happened or what I could have done to cause this but I have literally tried everything to fix this problem and nothing seems to work.
I have had this issue for about a few weeks now and I still haven't found a solution. Here are a few screenshots of what I'm experiencing in Chrome:
I can see the length of the video but all of them are stuck loading. Safari is also unable to load any videos.
Here is a list of what I have tried so far:
    1) Uninstalling and re-installing flash player did not fix the problem
    2) Deleting my cookies or cache files did not fix it either
    3) Disabling all my extensions (i.e. Adblock, ghostery, etc.) unfortunately did not fix the problem either
    4) I tried enabling and disabling a few of my plugins as noted in this thread here:
    https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/ifL98iTMhPs%5B1-25-false%5 D
However, no combination of enabling or disabling the PPAPI or NPAPI seemed to work.
Here are some other strange things that I have noticed:
    1) I am using TekSavvy's 25 Mbps cable internet with a D-Link DIR-815 router. My iPhone 5s and Windows laptop have no problems connecting to the internet and they have no problems playing videos. Even my iPhone can play youtube, dailymotion, or vimeo videos. My MBA is solely experiencing this video problem and yet it has no problems connecting to the internet. I have no problems viewing any websites; I just can't seem to get videos to play properly
    2) All videos load perfectly fine if I tether off my LTE from my iPhone. All videos also load perfectly fine when I am connected to my friend's Rogers' 60 Mbps cable internet. Could it be that perhaps faster internet is the solution?
    3) However, occasionally all videos play perfectly fine for only one day and revert back to not playing the day after. This seems to happen once a week.
    4) Even more interesting, if I sign into my youtube account, I am able to play youtube videos. But I suspect that this has something to do with HTML5 being enabled by default in Chrome but I am uncertain.
All thoughts and ideas are welcome. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really don't know what is causing this problem. Thank you!

Hi Carolyn, I'm not sure what you mean. HTML5 is enabled by default by Chrome. I do not see an option to "Use the Default Player". In fact there doesn't appear to be an option to switch to select any other player. Here is what I see:

  • Safari, at times does not load images on webpages, is very slow, or doesn't work at all. Rarely does it operate as one would expect.

iMac 27" 2009 intel core 4 gigs of ram, 1tb HD, Current operating system. 2 user accounts, myself, my fiancee's. Each with iPhones so each setup to utilize iCloud. I have disabled 3rd party plug-ins once with only short-term effects. There are other issues with the computers performance and I have spoken to apple support regarding them multiple times. Some include iCloud not syncing properly to the iMac (though it does to phone and online), Finder windows getting "lost" between "digital desktops". Desktop image not syncing across all "digital desktops". iTunes often has issues with syncing with and playing from my iTunesMatch account.
Safari's issues include it not loading any images on a website, when trying to load a new page by typing a search in the the url it won't even begin to load a page, sometimes it is very slow to load a page, a lot of time it will spend 5+ minutes "attempting" or not even visually attempting to load a webpage without warning the page can't be found, and then of course there are the "page can't be found" warnings as well.
    Very much thanks in advance,
    AK

  • Safari 8.0.3 not loading images. Fix?

Is anyone else experiencing missing images on major web pages that are simply not loading in the latest version of Safari?
I'm seeing blue boxes with white question marks pretty regularly on sites like smh.com.au as per below:
If there's a preference purge I need or some sort of reset I'd be glad to hear. Very unusual behaviour from Safari as far as I can see especially having the latest version 8.0.3 running.
Any tips greatly appreciated - or anyone else seeing it to let me know that I'm not alone..
    Thanks in advance.
    P.S. I'm on a late 2012 iMac with 16Gb RAM running a 3.4Ghz i7

With Safari open look at the menu bar top lef your screen.
If you see Develop between Bookmarks and Window, click Develop.
If Disable Images has a ✔️ mark, click one time to remove the check mark.
    Safari images should appear.
If not, try troubleshooting Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Safari and Firefox won't load images on wireless network

I have been struggling with a problem for weeks. When using my MBP on my wireless internet some web pages won't load at all "server is not responding". On other sites images won't load.
I have Cox as my ISP and my PC desktop has no issues.
Running XP on parallels also has the same issue.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OK, maybe we have a cache or other problem...
Might give a try with Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

  • Lost ability to "Get Images"

Long story short - I took my Tour to the Sprint Store over the weekend because of an issue with screen flicker. They took the phone and told me to return in an hour. When I came back they said they performed a memory wipe of the phone. All of my apps and contacts were still there, but things returned to their default settings. Anyways - one of the things I've noticed is that even though I have "Enable HTML Email" and "Download Images Automatically" active for all of my eMail accounts, I am no longer receiving images and "Get Images" is no longer an option in the menu. This problem appears to be preventing Viigo from downloading images as well.
Any ideas? I'd rather not go back the Sprint Store. My screen still flickers, the guy tried to claim that I'm seeing things even after doing a side-by-side with their in-store display model.

    Try this:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot

  • Elements 9: Have lost ability to load in new photos from my SDHC card - "No program associated"

    Folks
First post in this Forum, hope you can help!
When I insert my SDHC card, I no longer am able to import photos from the card into Elements.  I get the AutoPlay window OK......
Auto Play -> Organize and Edit with Adobe Elements Organizer 9.0
however when I click t he Adobe Organizer link, I get:
"This program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or associate an action .... "
It worked fine for the past 18 months!  I upgraded to Elements 9 about 6 months ago, no issues until recently.    I am guessing some WIndows update has broken this.  Any suggestions?  how can I fix?
(I am using a Dell Sudio 17 PC with Windows 7 64 bit installed).  I have Adobe Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9 installed (and not a lot else to be honest)
    Many thanks!
    Stephen

    Hi
thanks again for replying.  Sorry for taking a long time to get back to you, however I decided to reinstall.  And I only just got time to do the reinstall
Unfort your suggestion didn't make it work!  It just brought up the dialog automatically with the message ""This program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or associate an action .... ""
Reinstalling didn't help either - which realy surprised me. I had expected that some program that had installed had disrupted the configuration somehow, that cause this failure message to occur. And I hoped that re-installation would correct this. However as I say the same behavior still happens, even after the reinstall
I have also tried to change jpg file association to Elements Organiser .... again no change.  (This not what I want btw - I want elements photo uploader to be invoked when I insert the SDHC card - this is a different requirement from opening a JPEG direct into Elements)
So I think this is an Auto Play issue, not a file association issue.
I have tried changing the control panel defaul programs etc - however it all looks fine to me  e.g. the default action for media insertion (memory card) is "Organize and Edit with Adobe Elements Organiser 9" - specifially under "Change Autoplay Setting" this item is shownb correctly.  The issue (still) seems to be that the OS cannot map this to an actionable program.
    As before, any solution/insight appreciated!
Thanks once again, 99jon, for your prompt responses and apologies for not getting back to you asap last time

Hi there and welcome to the User Forums!
What you are looking for is a full-motion video recording.
Captivate 2 has full-motion available, but the product is designed
to use it for only brief periods - for capturing such things as
grabbing a scroll elevator, or a drag-n-drop of a file object. It
is definitely not designed for on-going, continuous video capture.
If you upgrade to Captivate 3 you will find expanded full-motion
    capabilities.
Other alternatives include the use of software designed
specifically for creating AVI videos. One popular software package
for this is Camtasia, but there are hundreds available out there -
just "Google" for a string like "
    create video".
Having said that, if you use Captivate as intended, the
action you describe can be captured easily, and with amazing
clarity and real-time appearance of your actual activity. This is
not really the place to conduct a complete seminar on the product,
but there are more than a half-dozen tutorials (created in
Captivate) accessible on the main user interface (UI) - look in the
right-hand column on that UI. The titles tell you what each
contain. There is also a sample movie or two that was included with
the install. You might find it helpful to open that and after
looking at the timeline and other features, use the Preview feature
to see what a Captivate movie looks like.
After looking at some of those resources, come on back here,
as you will probably have more specific questions we can help with.
    Best of luck to you.

  • Why won't safari load images and connect to websites?

We've had this problem intermittently for several months. When visiting SOME websites (though never the same ones twice) instead of loading images, it comes up with a blue question mark in a box. if we try to reload the page, it will do one of two things: it will either reload exactly the same, or, it will reload in a format that shows vertical written links - no images. it almost looks like programming language, but it's readable.
also, when we go between links, we often get the message that "safari can't find the server". this is, again, erratic. If i try to go directly to the same website by typing in the address in the bar, i will get the connection. (so, if i go from youtube for example to try to connect to another website it won't work. but if i try to go directly to that website by just typing in the address myself, i can get it.) as i said, it doesn't always happen, but when it does it's a real pain!
lately, i've had a new problem too, which seems to relate: when using hulu.com, it will not load the show saying it is unavailable and to clear my cache. I've done that... and it still won't reload. yet, when i go to google, and search hulu.com, and go to the website that way, i can get to the show page no problem. Or, i have to quit safari and then go back to hulu and, again, no problem.
sometimes we can go for days without the problem, sometimes not.
any ideas on how to help this problem would be MOST appreciated! thanks

    blue question mark in box
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Appearance tab. Make sure Display images when the page opens is selected.
For server issues, try turning off the router for a few minutes, then restart it.
Hulu requires the Flash plugin. Uninstall your current copy of Flash, then reinstall >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Try emptying the Safari cache more often.
And reset Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
And how much free space on the startup disk?     Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Try Safari in another user account. Same problems there, then log back into your admin account, launch Disk Utility.  /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions). If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

  • Is there a way to not load images in safari? Like on android you can tick a box to load images or no to the internet?

Is there a way to not load images in safari on ios 7 like in android there is
The option to load or not load images?

My reply here was specific for this thread, but as you noted, I didn´t read careful enough. I wrongfully took for granted that issues in the More Like This box was platform dependent. I tried to apolgize accordingly, I would like to see the post deleted, but that doesn´t stop you from policing obviously.
And instead of arrogantly replying about matters irrelevant for this thread, maybe you should start reading more carefully yourself. The posts you are referring to are related to large images failing to load properly in Safari 7. This is not as you claim "vaguely related". Take this elsewhere if you have a problem with it.
Again, sorry for messing up the thread.

If you can open Safari go to the top of your screen, click Safari / Preferences then select the General stab. You can type in the web address for your Home page there.

  • Safari gives up loading images too early

    Hi
I have noticed that Safari (currently I am using 3.1.1 but I had noticed this behavior on earlier versions as well) usually gives up on loading images too early.
I have a 30Mbps internet connection and also in Firefox and Opera I do not experience the same problem.
Is this a known issue? Are there currently any workarounds around this problem?
    Regards,
    Behrang

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • SAFARI WILL NOT LOAD IMAGES

On my laptop safari works fine but on my G5 safari now will not load images or has a ? where images should be any help out there please

    Hello Fraser:
We may not have the problem isolated. Are you connecting the computer that "works" in the same way that the one that "works" is connected?
There is nothing inherent in either Safari or OS X that I am aware of that would cause the problem you describe.
A general "fix" for some Safari performance problems (after clearing the cache) is to trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart (enter your personal Safari preferences). You might also trash the "favicon" file as that can slow Safari if it gets too large (~library>safari>icons).
I would also turn off all items in the Safari preferences under "autofill" and turn on all the web content boxes under "security."

  • Safari load image problem with iMac Intel core

I got my new iMac 20" Intel core and system updated everything. I found that Safari cannot load image in my web photo album ( http://fotop.net/nicknick ), all image became "?".
I can load this page correctly with FireFox and Opera Browser. I also try the iMac 17" PowerPC in my office with the latest version Safari, it also load the album correctly. And I know this web is created and store in a Linux server, the web page coding not written or optimized to IE.
I've try to reinstall the whole OS X, nothing else installed, the same problem occurred.
Is it the problem on Intel core? or any setting I can do to overcome it?
Hope the problem could be solve, I like to use Safari except this problem.
iMac 20" Intel core   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Well... no - except to ask if your intel imac is connected to the internet in exactly the same way as the ppc imac. If it is, then that's puzzling
You're right, I'm puzzled by the imac.
    Intel imac is at my home, ppc imac is at my office;
both using same ISP but different service plan,
(home:) PPPoE, ADSL modem -> buffalo MIMO wireless router -> intel imac (both direct wire or wireless connect have same result)
(office:) fixed-ip, ADSL modem -> firewall -> Linksys wireless router -> ppc imac (wireless)
both network setting with manual assigned IP, gateway and same DNS
Same result occurred when (1)open box new machine, (2)after updated system, (3)reinstall whole OS with preserve the old setting, (4)reinstall whole OS with erase the whole harddisk option, (5)updated system after the reinstallation.
I firstly think may be some security setting in imac that blocked the images, but can't found out. I secondly think some html code at this web not work on Safari.
May someone with same machine help to open this web to see if all intel imac get the same result?
