Safari could not open this page because the server stopped responding

Since upgrading to 4.2 I get this message a lot even though the page loads anyway:
"safari could not open this page because the server stopped responding"

Have you Checked your firewall setting(of both windows and of the Anti Virus).
I was Having the same Problem, and tried everything from the Internet, then i realised that firewall can mess things up and so i immediately TURNED OFF the firewall and restarted my Network and my Ipod ....THE INTERNET WORKED
i am using win vista and McAfee.
want to add few more things:
1> adjusting brightness has nothing to do with Networking.
2> Multiplayer/online games also get into problem due to antivirus firewall(AVG anitvirus specially.....Disabling firewall or setting it to permit the Device/program to access Internet WORKS)
3>to know if the problem is with the Idevice or with the System, try connecting other devices to that netwrk, if non of them connect then its the problem with the System/Network/OS and not with the Device........Resetting you Idevice again and again will not Solve the problem.
Happy Idevicing

I have just brought office 365 and it is telling me to mange my accout to ba able to download the office app bit it keeps telling me the server has stopped responding.  What is the next move?

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

When I search for stuff on the internet it says safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding and non of my games work either. What do I do to fix this?

Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
    Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network

Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding can anyone help me please

    Hi ..
Restart your router then try Safari.
If that doesn't help, reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
If nothing above has helped, try here >  iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

  • My iPad shows Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. How can I access Safari?

I cannot acces Safari (for the past three days) A message shows 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. How can I rectify this?

Well, you are accessing Safari.  It's just that there's a page it's trying to access on the web, one that you last used, and that website is not available.  When looking at the dead page in Safari, tap the lower right icon to shrink down the page and then tap the "x" to get rid of it.  You can then try going to another site.

  • HT4623 safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding

purchased ipad 2  two weeks ago everything working fine but today problem with wi-fi connection as safari comes up with a message  could not open the page because the server stopped responding, but my desktop and laptop working off the same wi-fi are connected to the internet fine.
    can somebody please help me

I have this same problem now.   Works fine on Wifi, but if I try to access the Internet on 3G I get the same message  :
"Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding"
I can use WhatsApp & my Gmail works, so I am accessing the Internet, just not able to browse...
Strange thing is.... I'm using a 3 (Three) SIM.  If I switch to my Giffgaff SIM, it works fine.  Swap back to 3 & I get this message.
I have re-booted & done the "Settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings" several times.   No effect.
    Any ideas?

  • Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding error.

This has only begun to happen after the ios5 upgrade.
    Steps to recreate the issue:
    In safari enter URL https://portal.keane.com
Safari waits a while and returns the error "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding error."
I see this behavior both on my iPhone and iPad after the iOS 5 upgrade.
Try it with any browser in your Mac or PC and this does not happen.
This didn't happen in the earlier versions of ios either, in either device.

I just tried it from a pad on ios 5 and it worked.  It took a real long tome and i assumed it had tomed out, but it finally came up to a log in screen for keane something.  I note this is a secure server (https).  So it is not a safari problem. It may bebthat their secure server can only handle so many requests at one time?   Try again, and give it time.

  • Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.  What do I do?

Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.
Sometimes its working but mostly not. My iMac, MacBook and iPhone, which are comnnected to the same wi-fi network, have no connection problems whatsoever.
    I have:
turned off and on the wifi
turned off and on the device
turned off and on forget this network
    reset the network setting
    reset all settings
    Nothing works.

Nothing works except if I use a different wi-fi so it appears that this is not a problem related to my iPad but to my wi-fi.
    Any suggestions?

  • Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding

"Could Not Open Page.... Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding"
....but it could worked just fine for the first 2 weeks of iPhone4 ownership.
WiFi network at home, working fine with MacBook, visiting friends' phones, my new iPhone4 - no problems. Had to power down the modem & router very briefly last night. Rebooted, MacBook connected fine, iPhone doesn't - it goes through the motions - shows all signs of full connection, full signal, password accepted etc etc - but web pages will not open, displaying after 30 secs the warning message above.
Tried at work on another wireless network - same response.
Have gone through all the FAQs, reset network settings, forgotten network etc - still nothing.
Anyone experienced the same and fixed it?
    cheers

I'm having a very similar problem, but it's with my 3G connection, not with wifi. The display tells me there is 3G connectivity, and I get the loading symbol, but pages stop loading a few seconds after I try to open them, and some time later I get the "server stopped responding" message. That happens with addresses I know are working, such as Google. Some times, restarting the iPhone or the internet connection (by switching plane mode on and off) solves the issue, but it has been happening often these days.
