Safari cover flow only displays bottom half of window

Help! The cover flow in safari only displays bottom half of the window, see the picture below,
However, those pages that can not be previewed show in full height of the window:
Any solution would be highly appreciated!!!

Maybe an extension or plugin issues...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not an extensions issue, back to the menu bar click Safari > Preferences > Security.
Deselect: Enable plug ins. Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, then you have one or more Safari add ons causing this.
Follow the instructions for troubleshooting plugins here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
If it's not a plugin issue, go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .pilst file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

DVD only fills bottom half of window

When I try to watch a movie using DVD player, I only see the bottom half of the movie. The top half of the DVD player window is black. I used the program Pacifist to reinstall the DVD player package from a Mac OS install disk, but the problem persists. Anyone know what to do? Thanks in advance.

I only see bottom half of video

I only see bottom half of video for everything I import.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer system is it running.
Based on recent posts here, you probably are working with wmv video.
If so, please read the Announcement at the top of this forum which targets the 1/2 wmv display related to a recent Windows Update kb.
Besides the Announcement at the top of this forum, there are many, many threads here on the topic.
Please let us know if you found the Announcement and deleted the Windows Update causing the problem.

If I see my library as a list, I can select a group of songs by clicking in a genre, or a playlist. Then I can listen to the songs I have selected.
If I switch the view to cover flow, it automatically works with the whole library. It won't play only the selected songs. It's like after choosing cover flow it deselects the songs.
What should I do if I want to use cover flow only inside a group of selected songs?

Yep, switching from Browser to Cover Flow removes your Browser selections. I suspect this is a mistake, since selections do carry over between Browser and List views; it doesn't make much sense for that to be true of two view modes and not the third. You'll need to make a playlist if you want to use Cover Flow for a portion of your library.

Safari cover flow no previews?

I don't understand the point of having the cover flow option in Safari if the application doesn't load the page previews and only shows a blank generic page preview and not the page the bookmark represents??
Is there a way to get the page previews to load automatically?

I have some more info that may help. I tried viewing a streaming video from ABC.com full screen in Safari and got nothing but the same horizontal lines I see with my iTunes cover flow. I then tried the same exact streaming video full screen with Firefox and it worked perfectly. So basically I'm only having graphics problems with Apple software - Safari and iTunes. All other programs seem to work fine. What gives?

Some albums getting listed as Various Artist in Cover flow only

The Killers - Sawdust
The above albums appear in the Correct place under the artists name in Portrait mode on the ipod but, when viewed in cover flow - the appear as being "various artists"
I have 32gb 3.5gs

I had the same problem after I updated to the most recent 3.0 firmware on my iPhone 3G.
I managed to fix the same problem you describe by:
1) Making sure the "Part of a Compilation" field is set to "No". For multiple files, you select them, "Get Info" and on the "Options" tab, you will see this setting. For one file, it will be on the "Info" page.
2) Making sure "Album Artist" is either blank or set correctly.
Number 2 only came up on 1 or 2 albums that were not displaying properly on CoverFlow (i.e., showing up under "Various Artists"). Number 1 is what fixed the rest of my albums (around 10 full albums or so).
Hope this helps other people. To save time, I would suggest using the Shift button to select the entire album and do what I recommend under #1.

New video clips only show bottom half of frame

Video clips shot with my new video camera only show the bottom half of the frame in Premiere Elements 3.0. Older video clips show up just fine.

You say that this 1/2 video display is related to video from your new camera and Premiere Elements 3.
The problem of the 1/2 video display has been associated specifically with .wmv format and a recent Windows Update kb file.
But, I would ask, just whar brand/model camera do you have that is shooting .wmv video?
By the way, what computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 3 on....Windows 7 32 or 64 bit or Windows XP 32 bit?

"MS bulliten MS13-057. Specifically, on XP kb2834904 and on windows 7 kb2803821 is causing a problem
For us, it occurs when decoding WMV9 files. Not all uses of WMV decoding are affected, but I confirmed that when connecting the WMV decode DLL to a sample grabber for RGB32 video, the frames arrive black on top, so that points directly to decoding internals of the WMV Decode dll.
You can uninstall these windows updates to resolve your problem."
There are several threads on the problem that this Update is causing on the PrE and PrPro Forums, so one can get more details. So far, there is not another fix from either MS, or Adobe.

After upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow not displaying song playing. Why not?

Since upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow is not displaying the currently playing song. It will simply display the first cover in the playlist. Also, the screen saver starts during playback, unlike Snow Leopard. Any ideas on how to fix? I have already repaired disk and permissions but problem persists.

I tried restarting my mac and my iphone a bunch of times, reinstalling iTunes after deleting dozens of files, and it didn't help at all.
I re-installed X-Code (had to use Activity Monitor to kill iTunes Helper in the middle of the install) and then my iPhone synced again!

Upon opening a thumbnail to view full size image, it often spontaneously zooms to only display bottom left quarter of image.

When double-clicking on the thumbnail image of an iPhoto album, the full size image will often spontaneously zoom to only display the bottom left quarter of the entire photo when it displays in full size. I can easily work around this by clicking on the right arrow to go to the next full size image (which will display properly) and then click on the left arrow to go back to the initial affected image (which will also then display properly). It does not do this when full-sizing all images from their thumbnails - probably less than 10% of the time; but still often enough to be a pian. I cannot find anything in the preferences which would appear to cause or correct it.
It is a recent problem. I have been using iPhoto extensively for many years without any problems. I cannot recall for sure, but it may have started after my update to version 9.4.2.
Using an iMac with plenty of RAM, latest version of iPhoto 11 and Mountain Lion version 10.8.2.

What is the format of the PS photos and are there any alpha channels in them? You might try to re-edit them with PS, making some insignificant change and then saving. See if the new edit will display properly. Are you saving as jpgs with the Baseline format?
I may be preaching to the choir here but this may be of interest:
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

Cover Flow data display.

Hi.
My question is about how COMPILATION album data is displayed when in the Cover Flow mode. Is there any way to get iTunes to show the artists name instead of showing the generic 'Various artists'?

It's a problem that disappears if you uncheck the 'Part Of A Compilation' box in Get Info, but then you end up with every track becoming its own album.
Any ideas?

1) In full screen mode you get to see more.
2) Enter the artist name in the Album Artist field in Get Info.

Cover flow only to preview my current playlist?

My music on my iPhone 4 previews as lists on portrait mode based on a playlist fine. It shows all my albums perfectly within that specific playlist folder.
However when I switch over to landscape cover flow mode to view the album covers, it lists out all my albums from this playlist as well as every other song I have synced on the phone.
Is there a way I can preview the same albums from my playlist as landscape cover flow mode?

I hope everybody on all the related threads writes to Apple (http://www.apple.com/feedback/) to point out that it's downright *DANGEROUS* that the only way to skip songs while driving is to reach over and dismount our iPhones so we can turn them to profile view—instead of just a quick tap of the >> button in landscape mode.

How can I make Zotero fill the screen instead of only the bottom half?

Does your email site have a print button to format the page for printing? That often gives the best results.
If this just started with Firefox 4, it could be related to a change in how strict Firefox is about a page's HTML code. To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then return to your mail site, reload the page, and test again. (Print Preview might be sufficient for testing.)
Does that make any difference? If so, the site might not yet be fully compatible with Firefox 4 -- or you have found a bug in Firefox.

Try this:
Go to your Finder: Your User Account>Library>Safari folder. There, move the topsites.plist to the trash. Also, in the same Library>Preferences folder, move the com.apple.safari.plist file to the trash. Then restart Safari.
You'll need to repopulate your top site page. Also, as the Safari preferences have been reset to default values reestablish any of your custom settings.

Cover Flow images don't fill Finder window?

Hi everyone,
I like to use Finder in Cover Flow mode to browse through images. However, if I expand Finder to fill the whole screen, and I expand the Cover Flow pane to take up most of the screen, the Cover Flow images don't expand to fill up the Cover Flow pane. I have the High Res screen, so maybe it looks normal on a lower res screen but I think it's odd that Cover Flow doesn't try to expand the images to fil the space. Is this behaviour normal and is there a way to change it?

Solved the problem myself. I retyped the name of each folder (same name) under Pictures and added a space plus #1 after each folder name. Images appeared almost immediately on the content pane after that was done. Later I will then open up on my hard drive, under Cover Flow, two windows....one from the Pictures Folder and the other one from the Window Documents that contain the images transferred from an old hard drive. I will then select the images I want to keep and drag and drop the images from the Window Documents to the sub-folders in Pictures and that should do it. Attempting to do it from within Bridge will cause the images in Pictures to disappear so this other way is safer. Then I will trash my Window Document folder when I'm done. If anyone has experience this problem this might be a way to see if my solution might work for you. (I formerly had a window system and now have a iMac).

1 of the clips in my movie is cropped weird & you can only see bottom half.

I am putting a reel together with different footage and when I use the playback in Imovie 08 it is fine. However when I export it and I play it back, the one clip is only half in frame if that makes sense...

Ok, so I fixed my problem, and this might help, if you haven't gotten it fixed already. I had the problem while making one of a series of movies with three sections: Titles, movie, then credits, as usual. My titles and credits were imported m4ps, complete in and of themselves, but the movie was built between them. When I tried to publish the movie, the aspect ratio did not calculate the middle to match the titles or the credits. However, if I exported the movie as an m4p, and then imported it, they all published correctly. Titles, movie, and credits all appeared in 16:9 ratio.
