Safari cutting out with iOS 7

I am having problems with safari completely cutting out now that I have switched to IOS 7

In case anyone's wondering, getting a brand spanking new iPad Air does NOT solve these problems.  I got my iPad
Air last week, and I am still having these issues with Safari and iOS7.  They seem SOMEWHAT mitigated (e.g., I have been able to play the occasional embedded video on some sites that crashed in the past, but then the same pages will crash at other times.)  But these problems are still cropping up several times a day, which is several times to many.  (And they persist even after installing the most recent iOS update. If anything, they may be a little worse on the iPad Air after that update than before.)
To recap, the main issues are:
Safari tends to crash on a regular basis, with no apparent pattern regarding particular sites or content thereon.
Crashes are especially common, though not limited to, sites that include embedded video, especially if you try to play said videos or just accidentally click on them.
Switching between Safari and certain other apps will cause Safari to "reset" itself, causing you to be logged out of any sites you happen to be logged into.
Switching between the above mentioned apps and Safari will generally also cause those apps to "reset" themselves, meaning lag time when multitasking back to them and losing your place in the other app, needing to start over.
Using a different browser does not necessarily avoid these problems.
It is very frustrating that these problems persist even after upgrading to Apple's latest and greatest hardware.  I was always planning to get the newest iPad, and my excitement about it was already tempered by the idea that the new iOS seemed to make the upgrade necessary rather than just desirable.  But to shell out the money for the iPad Air and STILL have these problems is getting ridiculous.  APPLE, PLEASE FIX THIS!

  • Phone keeps cutting out with iOS 6.1

Since downloadning the latest software I can't get past about 5 seconds of a call before the sounds completely goes.  Then sometimes I can't even end call and have to turn the whole phone off. iTunes is also messed up and it now skips whole tracks on playlists.  None of this happended before the upload.  Any ideas how to resolve urgently? Thanks

This is most likely faulty battery. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

the song i purchase cuts out with 2 minutes to go.... how can i fix this?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • AirTunes cut-outs with wired network (solved)

To whom this may be helpful,
There are several discussions about Music cut-outs when using the AirTunes, but all of these discussions were focussing on a wire-less connection.
In my case, however, I have a wired Ethernet connection from my Mac to a 4-port-router, to which the AirPort Express is also connected. I got the first cut-outs about a year ago and it has been gradually getting worse, up to the point where it would cut out after every 5-10 seconds, pausing for 5 seconds. This is when I gave up using AirTunes.
Next, nothing much happened until I noticed a few weeks ago that my network had become notoriously slow. I first suspected a degrading ADSL connection, but I changed my mind when my router died. It turns out that my network performance was gradually degrading due to problems in my router (probably bad memory, forcing it to drop packages when the checksums were incorrect).
After having replaced the router, the network is up and running again as before and AirTunes runs smoothly again. With that in mind, you might like to test other units in your network!
    Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I buyed 2 of the Airport Extreme, never got them working fine, till yesterday...
I have A Zyxel ADSL WLAN Router Switch. WPA-PSK as I wanted a secure Network. Both of the AX were connected with static IPs. WLAN was always working fine, but I had many cut outs with airtunes. I wanted a solution with lossles streaming audio with the possibility to connect my Receiver digitally. That's why I bought my first Apple hardware, as I was always told, Apple=Plug'n play. Very frustrating!
I tried other switches, Routers, WLAN adapters and cards, nothing worked. Airfoil does not support multiple speakers yet, so it's useless for me.
In the FAQ of the Airtunes, Apple mentioned to use lower security, as some Computers probably do not have enough power to stream music flawlessly. But my Computers really do have enough power! I think the AX does not have enough power to do that. So I created another wireless network with one of my AX. I set the security to WEP-40bit key and joined this new Network with my other AX. Not the best solution, as I'm now connected to the Internet or to the AX to use Airtunes. Cables could fix that problem, but then I could use a wired system instead...
I use Channel 11 for the AX WLAN (the only clean channel in my area), Multicast to 11, only G mode for Wireless and a 5 characters WEP-40 key and no WDS. Seems to work at the moment.
I hope this will help others with the cut or drop out problem

I am experiencing the mobile safari crash on IPAD (With IOS 7)
    Scenario:
Parent page i.e., Test.html opens  a new window test2.html which opens an Articulate storyline course. when the course is closed the test.html window reloads and results in the crash report.
So each time the operation is same i.e., closing the course window, wheras it results in different crash reports.
Request you to analyze the crash reports provided below and provide me with the next steps.

  • If I were to buy a new iPad 2/iPhone 4s or 4, would it start out with iOS 5?

I've heard some very bad things about 'legacy' devices running iOS 6. Specifically I hear that when the iPad 2, iPhone 4s and 4  are updated to iOS 6, the battery life is reduced and wi-fi connectivity becomes less reliable.
My question is, if I were to buy a brand new iPhone 4s today, would it come pre-installed with iOS 5 or 6? And if it came with iOS 6, would I be able to get an older operating system?

All new stock should be running iOS6 out of the box by now,
iOS6  works fine on most iOS devices .
Maps app is not an issue in performance
Over the air updates did have a bug with thermal controls making phones hot and battery life fall.
Restoring and updating via iTunes often corrected this.
The wifi issue have read about but have not seen myself.
Circumstantially it appears to be related to early 802.11n draft routers and actually may be router firmware based.

  • Mac Mini Audio Intermittent over HDMI, Cuts out with Assertion in kernel.log

Hello. I've been having trouble with a mac mini (Mid 2011) that I bought on Thursday. It's running OSX 10.7. The Mac Mini is the $599 unit.
I've got it hooked up to my Sony BRAVIA HDTV (also this year's model) via HDMI, with audio configured to be delivered via HDMI to the TV alongside video. Initially the audio will play through my TV, but after an hour or two of watching something, it will cut out, and there will be no more sound coming out of the TV from the mac. Ultimately, the only way I can fix it is to reboot the Mac Mini. I've also observed that at about the same time sound cuts out, the following error message appears in kernel.log:
Aug 12 19:21:40 joshs-Mac-mini kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in AppleHDAWidget at line 3957 goto handler
    Aug 12 19:22:10 --- last message repeated 5 times
As far as I know, assertions failures usually mean software problems (bugs). I suspect I may be encountering a kernel-level bug in Lion, as this error message is showing in kernel.log.
The following is a list of diagnostic steps I've taken:
    - I've double-checked the sound output device in preferences. It didn't spontaneously change from SONY TV (HDMI) after sound cut out.
    - I've tried changing output to the internal speakers. It plays sound from the mac mini (as expected). When I change it back to HDMI, still no sound from the TV.
    - I've tried turning off and back on the tv. No effect.
    - I've tried unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable. No effect.
    - I've tried replacing the HDMI cable with two other alternates. No effect.
    - I've tried other HDMI inputs for my TV with HDMI attached. No effect.
    - Note: I've got a ps3 and xbox360 on the TV that has successfully used the HDMI inputs and cables tested on. They've never had this type of problem, so I don't think there's a problem with the TV.
    - I've tried rebooting the mac and resetting the "PRAM" (Command-Option-P-R before the grey screen on bootup). Sound still cuts out after a while.
    - All updates are applied.
Does anybody else have any ideas about what I could try to fix this? This problem is pretty much a deal breaker, as rebooting the mac mini mid-movie kind of destroys the movie-watching experience.
    Thanks

I'd just like to jump in on this thread to report exactly the same problem.
2011 Mac Mini (the 2.5GHz i5 model) running Lion, Sony Bravia TV, HDMI sounds cuts out after a while with the console error "Aug 15 18:30:25 Mini kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in AppleHDAWidget at line 3957 goto handler".
Interestingly, after the error occurs, I can still get 5.1 sound through Plex, but not through Quicktime. 2.0 sound and system sounds all fail until I reboot the system.
Any help would be appreciated. I would prefer not to have to return the Mini.
    Thanks.

  • Making smooth "cut-outs" with a mask?

Okay, so last night I was attempting to do a photo where the subject
"pops-out" of the frame. I figured out how to use the layer mask to do
it (yeah! I learned something new). But, I felt like it looked too fake
    - I was having problems getting the part that popped out over the frame
have smooth edges. This is my picture. Around the baskets, at the bottom, it seems really jagged. I worked for about 2 hours on this..
    http://home.comcast.net/~pnt.roush/DSCF_2005_1112_131952AA_web.jpg
So, how do you "paint in" your mask to get a really smooth, natural
looking edges? I zoomed way in and was using a pretty small brush (4 - 8
pixels), but I still had trouble going right along the edges of the baskets and wheels. (I felt I did way better around their heads.)
    -Trish

    Tricia,
Actually I thought you did a better job with the wheels than the head, because the black on the backside of the wheels looks like shadow, while around the head looks like is was a cut out. The trick is do zoom even more than you did initially and manually use a one pixel size eraser and eliminate all but the head colors, or even one pixel into the hair at times, or even use the color wand and a one pixel brush to paint a head color(s) at the black edge of the head, then eliminate all outside of that boundary you made (using black as color to select and delete. Now do a copy paste onto your Border photo as background. Give that a try.

  • Wireless Speakers Cutting Out with Extreme

Hi - Connected up my Audioengine A2 speakers to my Airport Extreme so I could play my iTunes library around my dinning room, but the connection seems to drop out intermittently!
It works fine initially, all set up correctly on Airport / iTunes, I even use my Touch as a remote but it keeps cutting out like there is a connection issue.
Have tested the speakers on a wired source with no problems so it suggests there is an Airport Extreme problem!
    Anyone had a similar issue?
    Cheers John

I cant see how. The only devices near the Extreme or the speakers is the 2 way power adaptor which the Extreme and the A2 speakers are plugged into.
I checked the connections which all seem fine!
    Thanks for you reply anyway.

  • AirPort connection cuts out with heavy disk traffic

My AirPort connection often cuts out when there's heavy demand on the connected USB drive.
Is there some way of avoiding this?

My AEBS (802.11n, non-Gigabit version) does the same thing: drops the disk connection during a large file transfer from time to time. Makes the AirDisk problematic for backups.
    The AEBS is at 7.2.1
    My PowerBook is at 10.4.10

  • Jambox Bluetooth Connection Cuts out with FLAC Player App

while playing flac files via bluetooth, the audio quickly cuts out and the speakers give off lots of feedback and amplified static. any way to fix this? should i look to update FLAC PLAYER, or jambox firmware?

If it doesn't do it when you play music through the iPod app, or Pandora, to the Jambox then you need to update the FLAC software or contact the developer.

  • Internet cutting out with new modem

We recently upgraded our modem at my office with my ISP from 10x1 speed to 20x2 speed. Since then we've been having connectivity issues.  My office has, on average, 7 computers using the network.  Since the switch we lose connection on at least one of them at least once a day.  The connectivity loss has never affected the entire office at once.  We've tried a number of solutions, including moving the router to a different spot and adjusting the channel (this was a suggestion by our ISP).  Has anyone experienced these issues on the airport extreme.  I'm trying to figure out whether this is a router problem or an ISP/modem problem.
    Thanks for the help.

This article makes some suggestions. The one about resetting your Router is not so dumb, as a Router on a busy channel will choose a less-busy channel, if possible.

  • Why is safari always refreshing with iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S?

HI, since I moved to iOS 8, my phone became unstable and in particular  Safari keeps relioding pages and losing wha I typed in. It seems to be happening to a lot of people and be a memory management issue. Any idea on how to fix this?
I keep very few apps open and have lots of space left, so I suggest iPhone 4S owners stay away from iOS 8 until this is fixed!

If all the basic troubleshooting has been done (reset, restart, restore first from backup then as new) fails to resolve the issue, then take it to Apple.
They will evaluate the phone and if the battery fails to meet the specs, they will replace the device.

  • Wireless cutting out with lots of disk access

This happening to anyone else? It's happened to me twice today, but if I'm writing to the disk a lot, either from a wired computer or a wireless one, the wireless network sometimes goes away and won't come back with out a base station reset.

Has anyone seen anything like this?
Basically, try to xfer a lot of data to the drive, or R/W from it a lot, and wireless fails. I lose all wireless connectivity from an XP box running 802.11g, a Powerbook on 802.11 g, and an airport express running 802.11b.
My wired XP box keeps working fine.
This has happened 4 times now. In at least one case, I had to power cycle the base station. The other times, I just had to access it via the utility and make it restart via the update button -- w/ or w/o config change.
