Safari display becomes grey in some website as unfinished loading

The display becomes like this in some website
How to solve this problem ?
Thank you.

Try troubleshooting extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • Videos from some websites do not load.

Videos from some websites no longer load on my Macbook Air even though they did load until recently.  The two sites where I have noticed the problem are Fine Woodworking and the Weather Channel.  YouTube, news channels, and other sites work normally.  The problem occurs with both Firefox and Safari, suggesting that it is not a browser problem.  I have turned off the Mac firewall, and I have disabled AdBlock, though both of those were turned on when the videos used to load and run.  Turning them off made no difference.  I also have checked that my software is up to date (browsers, Flash player, operating system), and it is.  I am not quite sure when the problem started, but it is quite recent.  I am unaware of any change I have made to the computer, except perhaps installing some automatic software updates.  Everything else seems to work normally.

"The problem occurs with both Firefox and Safari, suggesting that it is not a browser problem".
    Anti virus software installed?
Any apps such as Little Snitch, MacKeeper, or CleanMyMac?

  • Some websites won't load at all

Hi I have 13" Mac Book Pro and some websites don't load at any browser at all. I have tried Safari and Google Chrome and the weird thing is that just some of the sites won't work (such as youtube, facebook, apple.com, and many "heavy"...). Also my wifi connection works normally with other computers (wich are PC). The webpages start loading and the blue bar stops at the middle, and it never finishes... Do you think it's a problem related to software or with Macintosh ? I tried to redefine Safari but nothing happens...
I look forward to someone's help,
    Thanks.

    Let's try using OpenDNS servers.
    System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS
click the + in the left side column and add the following:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK, Then click Apply.

  • After upgrading to Mavericks, some websites won't load (using wifi)?

    Hey guys,
I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Mavericks last December. I had some problems when loading some websites (such as eBay, Society6, etc) while I was at home using my home wifi in Indonesia. It's like, sometimes these websites won't load, but sometimes they do.
I've tried different browsers and it's still the same. I thought, it was just the wifi at my home in Indonesia that's problematic, because at work (using cable), the internet's just fine. But THEN, I am now here in Australia, I don't usually have problems with my aprtment's wifi at all, but now it's doing that thing. Some websites won't load properly or won't load at all. I realized that this is most likely has something to do with my laptop (ie. upgrading to Mavericks. I've never had this problem before), because the wifi works just fine with my smartphone and my iPod.
Has anyone encountered similar problem? How do you fix this?
    Thanks so much,
    S

    Hello sharlegit
Try creating a new network location and test to see if the same thing happens of certain websites not working.

  • Some websites won't load on Safari or Firefox

    Hi all!
I have problems reaching some websites(http://www.insee.fr is a good example), using both Firefox and Safari, using a couple of Macs. The webpage keeps loading but nothing actually happens.
I used an iMac running on 10.4.11 using Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.0.4 and a MacBook running on 10.5, using Firefox 3.4 and Safari 4.0.4.
I suspected an ISP-related issue at first, as the "problem" webpages will load up fine on the MacBook at another location, and using another ISP. However, I've reached those websites at home on an old PC running on XP and using Firefox 2!
    So where is the problem?
    The websites?
    The ISP?
    The browsers?
    The computers?
Thank you in advance for your ideas!
    Claude C

    HI Claude,
Try Open DNS - Free / Basic
For trouble shooting purposes, please take a moment and click My Settings on the right side of this page and tell us about your Macs and which Mac OS X they are running. This way you have a forum profile set up.
    Thanks!

  • After downloading OS X Yosemite some websites won't load and some will

I recently installed Yosemite on my Macbook (mid 2010), The update went fine, except some issues with iPhoto but that is solved now, the main issue is since the update some websites on Safari and Google Chrome will not load anymore. Some will( e.g. Bing) but most won't anymore. I have looked at system preferences and my internet connection and everything works fine. It is not just Safari and Chrome also the Appstore can't seem to connect to the internet either but Skype can. I do not know how to fix this issue.
I have another account on my laptop which works fine, this obviously also has Yosemite, internet works fine, App Store works fine etc. and it seems to me that the settings are the same.  But this is not an account i normally use and i would like to be able to use my normal one again.

HI I am having the same problem.
    1. The Activity window on Safari doesn't show anything. Sometimes it shows a ?.
    2. Booted on Safe Mode and the same thing.
    3. Connected wired to the Time Capsule, Wired to the Modem and same problem but connected Wireless with Airport and it works.
    4. No software PeerGuardian or Firewall installed.
    5. Network utility was unable to Ping apple.com or me.com.
    6. Put the OpenDNS settings and I am still not able to go to Apple.com or me.com but I am able to ping with Network Utility and if I enter the IP of Apple.com it loads. However, Me.com doesn't.
    7. Tried creating another account and problem is the same.
    8. With any other computer the problem is not there.
    9. Direct connection with ethernet to a computer works fine for data transfer or any other DL works also fine without interruption.
I have been using Airport up until now but now I am setting a Server and I need the Ethernet working fine.
    Thank you,

  • Videos on some websites aren't loading but my flash player is updated?

On some webistes like Facebook when I try to load a video it will just show a loading sign and it won't play. It works on Youtube though. I updated my flash player and some websites still aren't working.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Why are some websites very slow loading and others not

Some websites are very slow to load and others not. Doesn't seem to be any logic as to. The affected URL below is one that is very slow. I can understand if it is not an Aussie website. Having said that New York Stock Exchange website "http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=DJI" loads quicker than the subject URL

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]

  • Some website will not load

There are several websites that just won't load with my router.  I've connected the internet right up to my laptop and it works just fine.  We have 2 laptops on the network and it won't work with either of them.  I tried to do a ping test using one of the websites that won't load and I keep getting a message that say request timed out.  I was able to do a ping test on yahoo.com and it worked right away.  I'm not too savvy on networks and routers so I'm hoping that someone here has a simple solution.  Especially since some of my favorite websites won't load.

Hmm, Now you've got me wondering whether our problem is the router and not the satellite internet.
Here is one site that used to work for us and has not worked since going over to satellite and a router: www.spamarrest.com (a spam filter service)
See if that one works for you or you get the "unable to load" message.

  • Safari suddenly no longer accessing some websites

I am on OS 10.4.9 using Safari 2.0.4. I'm aware both are outdated, but for various reasons I have chosen not to upgrade because I haven't really had any need to. But some weirdness has happened regarding my Safari and this is perhaps more a curiosity question than anything else (in part because everyone I talk to offline is suggesting I switch to Firefox or Opera anyway).
My Safari has developed a case of "Sudden Website Dropsy" or SWD. That is when a website that worked perfectly well a couple of days before no longer works properly, or at all, a few days later.
There are 3 examples I can cite:
    1. CNN.com. The site still works, but the formatting is messed up, and videos often cause Safari to close.
    2. TVshowsondvd.com . I was able to access this site up until Tuesday. Then it gave me a 404 error thereafter. I thought the site was dead or offline until I discovered I could still access it using an old version of Netscape. I contacted the webmaster and he said he'd changed nothing and has no idea why Safari overnight would forget the site existed.
    3. Attempts to access any of the Wikia websites results in an instant quit by Safari. Again, this was an overnight development. The main Wikipedia site, however, still works fine. Again, I'm able to access the Wikia sites using my old, unsupported, outdated Netscape browser, which seems to suggest Wikia didn't upgrade beyond Safari 2's capabilities.
I know we're always supposed to upgrade our programs and systems and the reason for me not doing so is a mixture of paranoia (the last major upgrade I did cost me my ability to access to some major work-required software so I'm willing to sacrifice some bells and whistles to be able to keep my job running smoothly), but I don't feel this is one of those cases where I'm trying to make my old Safari do something it isn't capable of. These are websites that worked fine days or, at most, weeks ago, so there shouldn't be an access issue. The sudden 404 on that one site is perhaps the most puzzling.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Alex

Web sites change over time, using new coding, new technologies, etc. You're using an older version of Safari, and it has issues that can easily cause you to be unable to access certain web sites or cause Safari to crash. That is why you need to upgrade to 10.4.11 and the latest version of Safari. No tonly does it fix numerous bugs, but also closes a variety of security vulnerabilities.
You gain nothing by not doing it, and you risk everything. Your paranoia can be solved if you simply get a backup plan in order for your Mac and follow it. One of these days something bad will happen, at the worst possible time. I've yet to see or hear of anyone who lost their data by upgrading to 10.4.11, so now is the time to do it.

  • Picture files on some websites have been loading as grey squares saying "468 X 60". Why is this happening and how do I stop it?

Pictures on different websites have not been loading, and instead are being replaced by grey banners, most commonly saying "468 X 60", but sometimes other dimensions. This is definitely not making the internet much fun. Please help me get rid of these and bring back the pictures.

Do you see those missing images in Tools > Page Info > Media ?
Do you have security software (firewall, anti-virus) that may be blocking images that have some block listed dimensions?
If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

  • Safari displays blank pages for some sites

    MBP 15 inch. mid-2014
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
    Safari Version 8.0.2 (10600.2.5)
Some pages, sometimes on Apple's on support site simply display as blank pages. The same page displays perfectly on Firefox or Chrome. What is this strange behaviour? For example, this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15327 shows a completely blank page. See: http://i.imgur.com/PRPWgus.png
The same site displays without problem in Firefox:
    http://i.imgur.com/82lEuaF.png
I have no extensions installed in Safari. JS is enabled, all settings are default. This is a fresh and clean install of Yosemite. No anti-virus installed.
What's going on? Any pointers will be appreciated. Thanks.

As an aside, and I don't have specific data for this, but Safari does seem to load some other pages so slowly, it's annoying to the extreme.
How can I debug this? (The blank page issue.)
