Safari displaying odd text? Gobbledygook!?

I found the answer to this going back to 2008 and 09, so thought it worth putting on here again as I have been suffering this problem for something like 6 months within 2013!
I was finding some text on some websites had some text that was displaying as odd text, just odd characters sometimes overlapping each other. That was also coming up when I started to try and use iCloud - where the welcome screen icons had the gobbledygook text under each one, so you didn't know what they were and had to guess! Never tried as wanted to find the solution.
I'm on latest Safari version and OS system.
This was a solution posted in 2008 and worked for me:
But it got me thinking - and I went into Suitcase & noticed that an Helvetica T1 font was having problems, so I deactivated it & looked at Wikipedia again.
While I wasn't seeing gobbledygook text anymore, the same offending text snippets were now bunched up on top of each other - like a typewriter that refuses to nudge onto the next character space. So I quit Safari and looked at Wikipedia again and it is all fine.
In conclusion, Suitcase was having a problem with Helvetica, deactivating it, quitting Safari and starting Safari again solved the problem.

Safari not displaying certain texts on YouTube pages properly

Hi, I've been having this weird problem with Safari for almost two months now even before the 5.1.4 update. I even went to Apple Genius with my macbook pro and they said the problem is minor and should be fixed with the new update (5.1.4), but the problem still persists!
Basically, whenever I go on YouTube for EVERY/any video and click on the "more info" button to look at the information spread on videos, all the remaining texts and links are "invisible." I have to literally highlight everything in the information spread in order to permanently display the texts, links, etc after enlarging the information tab. I've tried updating everything (Safari--both 5.1.3 and 5.1.4, OSX, repairing disk permissions, all settings are on in Safari, etc) to NO AVAIL! It's so frustrating and annoying. I'm not that tech savvy, so I don't quite understand what kind of problem this applies to whether CSS, JAVA, Flash, or whatever else. A genius bar representative said it's not Flash (which I also updated and reinstalled a few times), since I can load and watch videos perfectly fine. He was able to reproduce the problem on one of the macbook airs at the store and that's when he said the problem should be fixed with the newest update. Obviously not. Please help me resolve this issue or at least, understand it. It's really frustrating. Chrome and other browsers work perfectly fine with YouTube on my MacBook as well.

Yes, he was able to reproduce it on a macbook air, but he never told me how or anything else. Just that it was a "minor" problem with codes and should be fixed with the newest update.
Also, I went to the Safari menu and the Style sheets set to none has always been set. I reset Safari as you said, and when I opened it again, it was really slow at loading any of my Top Sites (clicked on YouTube). Missing info spread (invisible) still persists...
I opened a guest account and the problem also occurs with Safari there, so I know this is a system wide glitch. I'm so close to erasing and reinstalling the OSX system out of frustration. (I have all my important files backed up so I dont actually mind doing this).

My Safari displays text in certains spots on a web page as mixed characters. Is there a fix for this or does anyone have an idea what may be going on? I have looked at my fonts and everything seems to be working just fine. I can't quite figure out why this only happens to certain text and not others. But I can't read half of the pages on the web because of this. I can copy the mixed up text out of Safari and past it in another application and the copy is in perfect english then.

I work as a graphic designer so I keep a very clsoe eye on my font library. In fact I don't use font Book, I use Suitcase Fusion. But i went to font book and double checked and I don't have any duplicae fonts in there. Would you have any other ideas?

Safari Display Gone Wrong

I have a new MacBook Pro 15 Retina, running Yosemite 10.10
Safari is version 8.0.3. I've some preference changes to compensate for my ("not so good') eyesight, and am still struggling with getting the menu bar text size, to match up with the Safari tool bar text size, and the html pages text size.
I've also turned off automatic updates two months ago. I want to get everything working properly, and understand the remaining problems before moving on.
About three days ago Safari started acting odd. It looks like some of the preferences have "reverted." Today I was able to get a definitive description of the symptom. I am hoping someone has a solution.
When viewing some webpages in Safari (usually older) the screen fields do not seem to line up properly, selection boxes too big compared to the text, text outside of margins, etc. I dismissed that after carefully checking Safari's display of newest websites like apple.com, hp.com, dell.com. All seem to display as I would expect. Until I stumbled across this screen this morning.
It is a simple illustration of what has been going on. Notice that the first line that contains the "Welcome" message? It seems to be set in the wrong font size resulting in over writing part of the remaining line.
Other, older websites, are almost impossible to read.
Any suggestions?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Advanced
and uncheck the box marked
Never use font sizes smaller than...

Display As Text (Saves State) as a Link in an updateable report

I'm running into an odd problem when attempting to use display as text(saves state) in a report as a link.
I have an updateable SQL report with the following columns in this order
1) A checkbox column
2) A column as a link using the Link Text attributes
3) A hidden column storing a key for use in the form
As I expected the checkbox is given a form name of f01 and the hidden column is f02
However, when I decide to switch the second column to be Display As Text (saves state) which also has the Link Text attributes set, so I can submit the value of that column in my form, something odd happens.
The checkbox is still submitted as f01. The hidden column becomes f03, however the Display As Text (saves state) value appears nowhere in the form. Neither does the text name="f02". It just stays as a link like it was before.
I'd really like to be able to submit the value without duplicating the column in the query(and making it a hidden value). Does anybody have any ideas about how I could do this?
Am I doing something horribly wrong? Has anybody else experienced this behavior?

Just to flush out my examples, and as a test for myself, I copied the "broken" example to a fourth page.
After copying the example page, I left the "display as" in "tabular form element" as 'Display As Text (saves state)' and deleted everything that was in the "Column Link" section (removing the link)
Once the link was removed, the Display As Text (saves state) behaved exactly as I would expect it to.

Ios7 Safari displays web page incorrectly

ios7 devices (iPad and iPhone) do not display LSE portfolio web page correctly. Graphics and text boxes at top of page are displayed as text, presumably not recognized as html code of some sort.
LSE say they have checked it out and there is nothing wrong with their code. Apple Genius at Apple store says there is nothing wrong with ios7 and/or Safari.
Someone is wrong or there is a setting somewhere in ios7 that I don't know about.
Any ideas?

Safari displays wrong fonts

Recently Safari has been displaying "gobledegook" text/characters in place of the proper fonts on some web pages. One example is Apple's hot news page where this occurs in the body text. The headlines display correct here.
I've tried reinstalling system/font files to no avail. Some font info. may be corrupt but I am at a loss on how to find or fix.
Problems started after I installed Font Agent Pro but did not set it to manage system fonts. The only suggestion they have posted at their site is to delete all AdobeFntxx.lst files which I also tried.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I resolved the issue finally with help from Insider software (maker of Font Agent Pro), with the following cure:
This usually happens if there are multiple formats of the same fonts activated, such as Helvetica TrueType and Helvetica Type 1. Click the All Fonts tab, then click the activation column head twice (this sorts all the activated fonts to the top) and scroll down to look for the same font name in multiple formats. Deactivate or delete one of the font formats. Also, check to see if you have Helvetica Fractions activated.
Do you use Font Book? If so, I would suggest that you disable it. We have detailed instructions on our Support/ FAQ page.

I did have many multiple copies of fonts in different formats activated at the same time that I was unaware of. I thought that this program was suposed to automatically remove duplicate fonts, but something went wrong there.
Anyway, all is well again.

My iPhone 5 won't display smart text. It did when I initially downloaded the new OS, now those options don't appear at all. Did I click something to make them disappear?
I went into Settings to see if there was a component of it within Messages. I don't see anything.

i mean either if we click the region title name it should display some help text of near about 10 lines in a popup window.
Or on moseover whenever we will put the cursor into the region title then it should displat the help text message of line 10.

so declare your heading in the TOP-OF-PAGE only

Kaki,
Delcare a table and getting the LONG TEXT is not the right way of doing this.
You create a TEXT object and change the TYPE to INCLUDE TEXT. Once that is done all you have to do specify the parameters of your long text - TEXT ID, TEXT OBJECT and TEXT NAME. These are the same parameters that you use for READ_TEXT funciton. You don't have to fetch the text manually, it happens automatically.
Make sure this is a part of the main window as this might run into multiple pages.

Create a hotspot for the long text column of ALV.
When user clicks on the hotspot, handle the event to display long text screen.
You may refer sample program of hotspot ALV :
Goto SE38
Type BCALV*
Click F4
search for HOTSPOT or EVENTS & you will get a sample program.
