Safari displays my photos in my Wordpress blog incorrectly

Safari does not display images on my blog properly on my iMac 24". However, Firefox does display it correctly.
But on my wife's MacBook it looks fine. So this leads me to believe it is Safari on my iMac. I've reset Safari several times an it did nothing to improve the display of the images.
Anybody have any suggestions? Reinstall Safari perhaps?

HI Glenn,
Go to Safari / Preferences. Make note of the preferences under each tab then delete this file.
com.apple.Safari.plist
~/Library/Preferences. Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.
Also, go to Safari / Preferences - Appearance. Make sure: Display images when the page opens
is selected.

  • Safari displays messages in Outlook Web Access (OWA)  incorrectly

I use Safari on my Iphone to view/process my Outlook email. It is a bit cumbersom, but works. However, just recently, it changed. Now, when I open an email, if I press "Reply" (agian this is an OWA) button, it creates a reply, but only shows the orginal message, regardless of how long the string is. So, if sent an original email, got a 'reply' response, then I did a 'reply' to the 'reply', my new message would only contain my original message.
This seems to have changed since the upgrade.
Not sure if this is a natative Safari, or Iphone issue.
I welcome any suggestions as this has made my phone useless for replying to emails.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

  • Wordpress blogs and Safari

This isn't new, but I've reached the point of sufficient frustration to post something here.
The blogging framework at Wordpress.com seems to be as good as useless in Safari (5.1.5), on both my iMac and the latest version on my iPad. On the iPad I have the Wordpress blogging app, which works fine, but I share the iPad with my wife and cannot always use it when I want to post a blog.
Searching the web, I seem to find quite a bit of rather inconclusive correspondence about incompatibilities between Safari and Wordpress. This, usually seems to end in suggestions to use a different web browser. Also seem to be lots of recommendations to delete cookies, cache contents etc, generally to no effect.
Today, my iMac is running really well, yet it simply will not open my Wordpress blog, not any other Wordpress blog I want to read. I even blew the dust off my Windows laptop and tried with that, using Internet Explorer. It loaded them just fine. Every experiment I have tried points to a major incompatibility between Safari and Wordpress.
Neither Wordpress nor Apple seem to be owning up to this.
    Anyone solved this issue?
    Thanks.
    Tom

Issue with Safari 5.1.10 on my Mac 10.6.8: Since yesterday all my WP sites are dead, WP Login failed. Safari tells me: "Safari can’t open the page “http://gamewidgets.onemac.net/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding."
Cleared Cache, checked all sort of files...No luck !
FTP with ForkLift get funny, works perfectly with FileZilla !
ALL perfectly working in Firefox and Chrome with NO issues at all(Display, Login...) - I'm totally confused !!!
Oi, Apple you screw it !
Update: My host(onemac.net) now complitly failed working in Safari - AGAIN with Firefox and Chrome with NO issues at all - Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Firefox won't display my photos

    Hi,
My iWeb website, photothemes.com, has been posted for a few months now, and has almost 1,000 hits. Feedback has been good. Unfortunately, the latest version of Firefox, 3.0.1, will not display the photo thumbnails in my "album" pages, although everything else works well. Earlier versions of Firefox also worked well. Currently, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Camino all display the pages properly.
To see what I'm talking about, open Firefox 3.0.1 and go to photothemes.com; then click on any of the "Links to My Photo Albums."
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    1)
Download and install latest updates for Leopard. Click on Apple menu / Software Update. Latest OS X version is 10.5.4.
    2)
Open your site in iWeb, go to you photos gallery page and do some kind of "fake" change on each photo page. Like add a text box and then delete it so that iWeb thinks that you changed something. But you really didn't.
    3)
Save your work in iWeb by clicking on File / Save
    4)
If you are using MobileMe then click on File / Publish ALL to MobileMe.
If you are using FTP, click on File / Publish to Folder and upload and replace the entire website (not just changes).
I hope this helps. It helped me.

  • Adding a photo gallery to a blog page?

I see the last queries about being able to do this are from 2006.  I'm wondering if it is any easier now.  I'm creating a website for a film series project.  I used a 'blog' template so I could easily manage about 20 separate films (without having scores of pages to deal with).  Right now each of those 'blog' pages has a large number of free floating photos (shots from the film).  They take too long to load.  I'm wondering if I could create a photo gallery instead, ON the blog entry page, that would contain the pics, and allow for fast loads?
Just wondering how one might create a photo gallery on a 'blog' entry page.
    Ben

Having looked at your site, I would say that you layout is very artistic and would be completely ruined by using a photos template.
DPI doesn't realy come into it as this is used for print. iWeb does have image optimization but its better to turn it off and reduce the image to the dimensions (in px) that it will appear on the web page before dragging it into the app.
If you want to maximise the SEO and make the pages more interesting for us humans, I would add descriptive captions to the images and put them in the spaces between the staggered image layout.
If you are comtemplating designing for mobile devices, you need to use every trick in the book to to reduce file sizes and cut content to the bone.
I have been using responsive designs for quite a while now and learned a lot of hard lessons along the way on what works and what doesn't on mobile devices. Some more examples HERE.
iPads are big enough for a traditional website to work on them as long as you pay attention to making the links and other user controls finger sized. I did figure out a way to make an iPhone compatible site using iWeb if you are interested...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/Mobile-iWeb.html
I must admit that I detest Wordpress although there are some responsive desgns available now. I did a test with one of the free ones but its a total pain and there doesn't appear to be any plugins for HTML5, responsive media players. I had to figure this out all on my own. If you click the Blog button on this page you should get there.

  • Cannot connect Contribute to WordPress blog hosted on Startlogic

I installed WordPress on the server where my website is
hosted. I want to use Contribute to work on that blog. When I try
to set up connections, I specify "other hosts" and I enter the URL
of the blog. After I enter that URL, I can click the "browse"
button and display the blog. When I clicke "next" I am asked for
the ID and password, presumably because Contribute has identified
the API connection. I enter the same ID and password that works
successfuly when I log in to wp-admin on that server. However, I
receive a message that Contribute cannot connect to the Blog.
I am able to connect successfully to my publicly hosted
WordPress blog. I identified the file to which Contribute is
connecting for the publicly hosted blog, and I found the same file
in my WordPress installation on my Startlogic server. However, when
I specify that path and filename in Contribute, the connection
fails, saying it cannot connect to the server.
I opened a ticket with my hosting service, Startlogic, and
the support techs believe I should be able to connect with the ID
qatharms that works fine on wp-admin. However, that ID doesn't
work, and Startlogic cannot tell me what is going wrong. Can
anybody here give me a clue?

    Hi Dominic
That's the one thing I can't do right now.  The website & customized (and integrated) blog all share the same menu structure in a common Dreamweaver library item.  So when you update the library item for the menus, this update is shared across both website and blog.  Currently the menus are relatively addressed, for example:
    ../index.html
    ../contact.html
This works as long as the blog doesn't use sub-directories to file its posts, created by changing the permalink setting in the WordPress server.
Once you introduce sub-directories then you have to use full URL references to make a shared library item for the menu across website & blog work, for example:
    http://www.domain.com/index.html
    http://www.domain.com/contact.html
What I'll do is setup another test website / blog arrangement and try your suggestion to see if it fixes the issue.
Would having Contribute setup for both website & blog cause a problem?  This is how things are now, the first time I've tried this combo.
    Thanks.
    Aly

  • Why can't I post to a Wordpress blog using Firefox 5.o?

I tried to post a comment on a wordpress blog and twice the comment was completely erased when I pressed "preview" or "comment". When I switched to Safari, I had no problem!

  • I can't see any uploaded pictures on my wordpress blog!

I bought my mac one week ago and i've uploaded some pictures to my wordpress blog and inserted them in the textbox but i can't see them.
And when want to visit my blog i can't see any pictures uploaded before.
    Thanks for your help!!
    Laura

This is a subject for Wordpress support.    If they can't develop websites that are w3.org compliant, you'll want to use a different blogger.  Also if this difficulty is with Safari, let us know, and we can ask the moderators to move this thread to the Safari forum.

  • Problem using Safari to load photos to Tumblr?

Last year I was able to post text and photos to my Tumblr blog. This year I can only load text. I'm unable to load photos on my dashboard. Safari is v.8.0.3 (10600.3.18).
Tumblr support has tested my photos and looked at screenshots of my computer, suggested I try other borrowers - I've tried Chrome - still with no success, I've tried also with my MacBook Air, same outcome. Yet I can email photos with no problem. I don't want to try other browsers. Any help much appreciated!

Where are you getting these photos? When you double click on a photo, does it show up on your screen?  What is the size of these photos? click on photo then command + i
Post image of output of command + i

  • WordPress blogs

I can't get Safari 2.0.4 to access the blog page WordPress. BTW: I still run os-x 10.4 and will not be upgrading any time soon.
WordPress blog pages cause Safari to shut down as soon as a search inquiry begins to load. Any ideas out there?
    Peter.

    Hi Peter
yes, I see what you mean - not a lot you can do directly in safari 2.0.4 except tell wordpress
the crash is caused by problems with wordpress's code & some of the system frameworks that safari uses; you can run a version of safari with more up to date frameworks by downloading a nightly build of webkit which uses you existing safari app, but makes it load newer frameworks.... this does seem to solve your specific problem in the several searches I just tried...
you know if you update to 10.4.11 ( free btw ) you can use safari 3.1.1 ? ( 10.4.11 comes with 3.0.4 i think ) ; anyway, 3.1.1 seems immune to the crashes too.

  • Wordpress blog doesn't show sidebar column

My site is a self-hosted wordpress blog with Thesis theme and recently it stopped showing the right hand toolbar on Firefox. I upgraded to the latest version but it still isn't showing.
The site is fine on Safari on the Mac, and it is also fine on Firefox 4 on the PC - BUT not Firefox 4 on the Mac.
Can you let me know how it can be seen? I'd like my site to work on all browsers and I work primarily in Firefox usually but am now shifting to Safari because it's so weird not seeing the site properly. Thanks.

    your problem:
chrome does not call javascript when view the page through local file system (not through web server).
try view your page with safari.

  • Lenevo K900: Problem with display of photos of contacts

    Hi
I bought a new K900. Initially it showed the photos in my contacts (after syncing with gmail, what'sapp etc). But, a friend of mine by mistake did some setting change, and it is no more displayed. I've tried to look at all possible manueverings with the settings options in 'Contacts' but I am not able to display the photos of contacts.
Request you all to please share if there is any solution to this problem.
    Thanks.Vikram

Thanks. I will try. But, I am curious what happened to my phone, and what can be to reset it right without any app.

  • How to display a photo slideshow in Widescreen 16x9 format?

I just bought a 5g iPod and the A/V connection kit. I can play a photo slideshow on my 16x9 TV, but it stretches the photos to fit the screen, so they are out of proper aspect ratio. Is there a way to tell my iPod that it should be displaying the photos on a 16x9 screen?
I understand that there is a widescreen option in the Video playback menu, but this does not seem to have any effect on the output of photo slideshows.

    Jon,
See if this works. It may or may not.
    Go to videos-->video settings-->Widescreen-->On
See if now when you play the photo slideshow it works right.
Now, if it doesn't then I don't think there is much you can do.
Tell Apple about the issue (if the steps above don't solve it)
