Safari does not load google or any web page related to google

Hello everybody.
Safari does not want to load google or any web page related to google (youtube, gmail, etc.). However, other webpages work just fine. I am connected to the internet.
I had this problem back in June. I went back home (where google worked) and when I came back to my boarding school, I could not access any  of the sites mentioned above from my school's internet. Summer vacation arrived, I left the school got back home where google became once again accessible. Now I am back in my school. Google worked well until 2 hours ago. I do not know what is happening.
I have tried to reset safari but it did not do anything. Firefox can't load google also.
I run the last version of Leopard (10.5.8).
Please help me!!

Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.

  • Safari does not show correct format of web page

I belong to Butterfly Conservation's Upper Thames Branch. They have recently set up a new website, but I cannot get two of their pages to display properly (although they are quite ok in Netscape). They should include a list of butterflies and moths, with photos, but none of the photos show at all, while the lists go off the page at the right-hand side. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? The URLs concerned are:
    http://www.upperthames-butterflies.org.uk/utb_butterflies.html
    http://www.upperthames-butterflies.org.uk/utb_moths.htm

It looks like they need to add a new line after line 139: the new line just needs to contain <td>. That's for the butterflies page. I'm getting 404s on the moths page, so I can't tell what's up there.

  • After mistakenly clicking a link, my safari does not open automatically and unexpected webs open up.

I am using MacBook Air with Yosemite OS. After mistakenly clicking a link, my safari does not open automatically and unexpected webs open up. Could you please give me suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thank you

That's a bit vague, but you may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • OS X Lion--Safari does not load pages. Updated OS X Lion and Safari does not function

I updated to OS X Lion and now Safari does not load any pages.

Actually there would be more than two possible reasons, but I appreciate your input.  To answer your questions, YES and YES.  All other machines and devices in the vicinity als work flawlessly though have not been upgraded (?) to Lion.
After the install of Lion, Safari stopped working.  It loads a page OK then with no movement on my part it goes to a grey screen with the indicated message.   I force a reload and it may or may not work, then suddenly goes to the same grey screen again.  Over and over again.  I haven't lost connection, not have I lost DNS connectivity.   The program after upgrade has failed and Safari is telling me in a manner which I have never seen before that it cannot load the page, despite the facxt that it has already loaded and then lost on its own.  When I boot from a backup Snow Leopard Disk it reverts to a functional system with Safari Ok.  I have removed all remnents of Safari and restored with same problem.
Of course, one cannot go back from Lion and Safari 5.1 will not install on Lion so the problem would seem to be uniquely particular to the upgrade as repeated by many others on the net.
I'm open for suggestions but not accepting the possibility of a software glitch is no help.
    Thanks again,

  • Firefox does not load nor does it let me open any web pages

already try'd doing the proxy home page didnt work ran a virus scan with two different servers didnt work and I can access any web page through safari and explorer

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Safari does not load web pages completely

Since I loaded Leopard, Safari is not loading some of the webpages that I go to regularly. If I move my mouse over the page some of the text starts to show but not the webpage. When i use my scroll wheel on my mouse to look at the lower part of the page then the page is displayed properly. Safari has always worked well with 10.4 and now that I have 10.5 i'm running into some issues. Can someone please advise? Thanks

  • Safari does not load the website

    Hi,
    I am running MAC OS X 10.4.7 using Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3).
Ever since I started using this computer (1 week back) Safari just does not load the pages. The website that I am trying to load is http://www.apple.com/startpage/ or the default page of Safari as installed. This also happens with many other pages.
The browser starts loading the page and the blue bar just stops mid way and nothing happens post that. I have waited for almost 20mins for it to load, however that never loads. If I press the Stop button, I do see the partial HTML thats loaded in the browser, but the page never loads completely.
My internet connection is fast, since I am able to load the same page or any other page in FireFox with no problems.
Can you please support me with what to look at to resolve this problem?
Mac Book Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi! Yes I have experienced similar difficulty with Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6). Although I am using Safari to browse this site now, it does seem prone to reject some sites. When it works it work beautifully. There must be a gremlin glitch in there somewhere!
All I can suggest that that you switch to another browser such as Netscape 7.2 or Firefox to resolve this issue as and when it happens.
    Happy surfing!

  • Firefox does not load images on any website. This has been a problem for years

It's not clear why. but only Firefox does not load images on web pages. Works fine on IE
Follow all the troubleshooting steps at
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_don%27t_load
no of it works. Never has. I see this problem all over. It's the main reason that users don't switch to Firefox.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

I tested with my iPad today and to my surprise the page did not load at all! The screen remains blank and the loading indicator keeps spinning indefinately.
Can you see what is wrong? iPad bug? The page validates using

Please disregard the problem above... NOW it loads just fine strangely enough. I am sure the URL was correctly written as no 404 turned up and I even copied the url to the validator. It also loaded fine using my iPhone simultaneously.

  • Safari does not load frames triggered from within other frames?

I am a new to Safari and I like the browser very much. I have run into a nasty problem though, that I was unaware of earlier on when using other browsers.
Some time ago, I made a website that makes extensive use of frames. The index page is actually a frameset page that loads information into the main frame. Through a basic JavaScript in this main frame, additional information is loaded into other frames on the frameset page. Whenever the user hits a link in the main frame, the JavaScript updates the other frames.
This has always worked fine in Netscape, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera, both on the Mac and Windows platforms. BUT not in Safari.
Can anybody help me out? What am I doing wrong that Safari refuses to execute what other browsers seem to accept as normal?
I removed the actual site temporarily, as I don’t want to block off Safari users. Yet I created a very basic mini-site that may explain the problem. This mini-site can be accessed at:
    thttp://www.chem.kuleuven.be/safety/grrrrh/start.html
Try it out with any of the mentioned browsers and then with Safari and you will see what I mean. To access the code, use one of the other browsers and download the frameset page completely. All 5 documents are truly basic and therefor very short. They only show the principle, no whistles, no bells.
If this kind of question would not belong to this forum, can anyone point me to one that deals with this type of problems?
    Tx fpr helping me out.
    PowermacG5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Safari 2.0.3

    Dear Tom & Andy,
thanks for taking the time to look into my problem.
I didn't know Safari is really picky on code, so will remember that for the future. Tx for the suggestion, Tom.
But things are getting even weirder!
First of all to set things straight, I am on the same versions of Safari and Firefox as the both of you and tested the minisite in Netscape 7 & 8, IE 5 (Mac) & 6 (Wintel) and Opera 8. As I stated eearlier, none of these have trouble reading and interpreting the "messy" code in www......start.html. Only Safari had.
But when I access my minisite now via the Internet, Safari renders all frames OK. I can see grey, yellow and pink frames with text, as it should be. So now I see what you see also, Tom. The previous problem, as you obviouslyencountered also, Andy, has mysteriously disappeared. Strange.
Adding insult to injury, when I download all five files from the minisite (start.html, main.htm, nav.htm, banner.htm & Frames.js) and put these in a folder on my local disk, the problem resurfaces again when I click start.html.
Adding a DOCTYPE statement to the start.html file on my hard disk does not help either.
Firefox and the other browsers mentioned still do a perfect job rendering the framepage from the downloaded content irrespective of whether the DOCTYPE statement is present or not. Only Safari refuses.
The only difference I can see between the www....start.html filee and the one from my hard disk is the way I access them: via http or straight by double-clicking.
I am still (and even more) puzzled.

  • Safari does not load my homepage.

I have Yahoo saved as my homepage on Safari.  Unfortuantely Safari wil not default to Yahoo when I reopen it.  Safari will only load the last page I visited?  It was fine before I upgraded to Lion.  Any ideas?

  • Safari does not load webpages.

Hello, I have recently had a problem with webpages not loading in Safari. Some pages load up fine while others attempt to load but end up saying that "Safari cannot find the server." Does anyone know what the problem might be? I am using Mavericks 10.9.1 and Safari 7.0.1, I have also noticed some pages take extemely long to load. This was never a problem before it had just started happening over the past couple of days. Thanks for your help.

    HI,
    Several things to try.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems accessing some websites...
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
If third party Safari add-ons aren't the issue, Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
    And repair disk permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Safari does not load large images

Images like on http://imgur.com/a/ZKhFa#zV5Hq9q do not load properly.
The load halfway, and when they become a certain size, they do not load anymore.
I have noticed this since OS X Mavericks.
Firefox and Chrome load these images properly.

Might be a Safari extension or third party plug-in preventing the images from loading properly.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
