Safari does not send passwords to server.
I am using Chrome to post this because I can't log in with Safari as it will not send my password properly. This happens on all sites requiring password login. Firefox and Chrome work fine. Sarfi works OK on different user account on the same iMac running Lion so problem is confined to my home configuration.
I have tried:
Fixing permissions
Rebuild directory with DiskWarrior
Run Cocktail routines
Delete com.apple.safari files from Preferences folder in my user library.
Reset Safari and deleted Safari caches.
Installed new Safari 6.0 with software update.
I also notice that I cannot clear my purchase cart at the Apple store. It seems that maybe the handling of https is corrupted.
I have clone backup of entire system but it also has the same problem. I have TimeMachine backup but don't know which file should be restored to correct this problem.
I would like to clear this up before upgrading to 10.8
Any help would be appreciated.

From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Make sure User names and passwords is selected.
Since passwords are stored in Keychain Access, try repairing.
Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
From the Keychain Access menu bar click Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid
Enter your admin password then click Verify. If necessary, click Repair.
Run Cocktail routines
Third party cleaning utilties are not necessary on a Mac and often cause more harm than good. Better to uninstall Cocktail before upgrading to Mountain Lion.

Safari does not remember passwords correctly
Hi all!
I use Safari with several online browser games, where I have to login with user name and password. However, Safari does not complete these forms after loading the page, instead it only completes everything when I have entered the first one or two letters of the user name.
I have read that this might be the case when there are multiple user accounts for one page or domain, but this is the only account for this specific page.
The pages uses some kind of transparent forwarding, so the user name/password information is transmitted to different subdomains, something like a load balancer, I guess (wod1.world-of-dungeons.net, wod2.world-of-dungeons.net,... you get the idea).
Auto-fill is enabled, the passwords are correctly stored in the keychain and everything works as normal once I start typing the user name.
Any ideas on what could cause this?
The page in question is (for example) http://world-of-dungeons.net/
I use Safari 3.1.1 on OSX 10.5.2 on a MacBook, if that helps.

I don't usually use the AutoFill function, but as I understand it, AutoFill does not automatically populate the form fields when the page loads. You either need to start typing in a field, select Edit menu > AutoFill form (or use the Command-Shift-A keyboard shortcut), or add an AutoFill button to your toolbar (View menu > Customize Toolbar and drag it there) then click it after the page loads.

Since upgrade to iOS4 Safari does not remember passwords
Since I've updated my 3GS to iOS4 via ITunes, Mobile Safari keeps asking to save username and passwords, even if I've visited the site before and said "Yes" to save username and password, at the next visit, Safari doesn't remember and I have to enter the details again.
I've already cleared Cache, History and Cookies, turned off and on the auto-fill option, but the problem persists.
Anyone got an idea ?Apple seems to have completely missed browser user/password remember feature all over again. This had happened with iPhone 1.1.4 firmware as well. Hope they correct this issue with iOS 4.0.1 update. Apple discussion forum thread specifically mentions users with iPhone 3G and 3GS are facing this issue. Last time a mod called Fix Safari Cookies via Cydia did the trick - Tired of having to enter your username and password everytime you visit your favourite site? With FixSafariCookie not anymore! This package / utility overwrites your cookies and changes the permissions that safari can actually write and save your cookies. -
Safari does not run at Windows Server 2003
Any page I try to open at Safari, it just crashes (I mean, just closes) without any technical information.
The most intersting fact is that when I go to preferences, just in the appearance tab make Safari close.
And the most important fact is that I use Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 en-us. I NEVER was able to use Safari in any 2003 (since first Safari beta). I've tryed Safari in several of my 2003 machines (at least 4 very different ones). I got better in new versions (first Safari ones didn't even openup)
I'v tryed so many things. Rename several folders, like safari.resources, run Microsoft Application Verifier to fool it as Windows XP, startup some services (like themes or Bonjour -- wich I use to disable), no solution at all. My sixt sense tells me that is is anything to do with some graphics rendering conflict, since it closes in the appearance and Safari have a different look from a regular Windows app window.
Bottom line: any help ?The kinda answer I like: download, copy, mesh, hack. Looks very nice, must work in most cases, but not this time for me. Behavior was exactly the same, running the nightly build.

anyone have a link or resolution to this problem, all i find is people hacking around for solutions or saying it started with Leo, and worse off some even suggest to use another browser while claiming safari is a world class browser.

Make sure User names and Passwords is selected.
When you go to a web site that requires a login, you'll be asked if you want to save the username and password, either Allow or Always Allow. Click Always Allow.
Your usernames and passwords are stored in your Keychain Access application. (Applications/Utilities)

User created apple id account, verified but know she is unable to log on, it says incorrect password, she tried to reset via forgot password option but it does not send reset password page to here e- mail address, how can i get this sorted? or how can i get her whole apple account deleted and created new one using same e - mail address?
The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

I have another apple ID but I forgot the password and apple does not send the link to reset it to my email. What do I do to have it back? It is really important.
If you know the answers to your security question for the ID you can use that method to reset the password rather than email (by going to https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid).
If you don't, you'll have to contact iTunes Store support for assistance: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. They frequently deal with Apple ID issues. -
My macbook pro with OS 10.6.7 'mail' program does not send my mail through the IPS wireless, I am connected to. The message is my 'e-mail is rejected by the server'. It has been working until 5 days ago. The connection doctor says I am connected and no log in required.
After trying lots I found now in 'Airport Utility is 'unable to detect any airport wireless devises.....'
There is no provider to be seen in airport utility and only 'rescan' is an option with no results...
even so I am connected and can browse the net receive mail etc. and the outgoing 'mail server' is set to the internet provider I am connected to.
Can you enlighten me what can I do I need to use my e-mail program urgently !!!
Thanks for your helpI'm not sure what "IPS wireless" is, but unless you have an Apple Wi-Fi base station (such as a Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme, or AirPort Express), AirPort Utility won't see anything.
You might try defining a new SMTP server to see if that will work any better.
By the way, the subject field for these messages isn't intended to hold a lot of text. Put a short description of your problem in the subject field and save the rest of your message for the body field. -

This is happening only when CAPABILITY command is sent follwed by LOGIN command. Please check this issue.If you want your mail delivered properly the Official Host Name of the sending server should match the PTR (reverse DNS) of the sending IP Address, and there should be an "A" record that matches the OHN as well.
Example:
mail.yourdomain.com (Official Host Name) on 123.123.123.123
PTR for 123.123.123.123 should match mail.yourdomain.com
There should be an A record in yourdomain.com pointing to 123.123.123.123

My simple chat server does not send messages to connected clients

I´m developing a chat server. But I can not get it work. My client seems to make a connection to it, but my server does not send the welcome message it is supposed to send when a client connects. Why not?

This is a broadcasting server which meand it can handle multiple clients and when one client sends a message to the server, the server should broadcast the message to all connected clients. It almost works, except that the server just sends the message back to the last connected client. The last connected client seems to steal the PrintStream() from the other clients. How can I solve that?

Don't know any other way to put it. I typed in the correct password. Now the account is locked. Iforgot does not send an email verification. The email is not in the junk mail or anywhere else. It is typed correctly. This is frustrating. I was just trying to update the Ipad Mini. I wanted to change the ownership to my husband and noticed that my daughter attached a new Icloud account. I was just trying to verify her account. I have the correct password. Now the account is locked out.I figured it out. It's a little confusing. I was trying to add a new email address for iCloud and I was supposed to type in the main iCloud user ID and password. The wording is not helpful because it displays the name of the new email address.

Everytime I try to share/email photos it says server does not recognize password. I have tried email password as well as Apple password. Neither work.
iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts.
Delete your mail account and recreate it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
