Safari doesn't save my Vodafone username and password

Hello,
In preparation for iCloud Keychain, I am moving all of my logins out of RoboForm and into Safari.
However, Safari doesn't offer to save my username and password for Vodafone.co.uk, which is one of my most frequently visited sites.
I was having the same problem with my PayPal account, but the Lap Cats AutoComplete extension fixed it. Still no luck with Vodafone, though.

I do have the preferences set to Autofill usernames and passwords - it does work for most sites - Amazon, Play.com etc.
I have all software updates from Apple so Safari 6.0.5, on Mountain Lion.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

First on Safari, go to Safari > Preferences > Passwords
Delete the vodafone website url if you see it there. Don't worry if it's not in the list.
Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilties
Select Passwords on the left. Then type vodafone in the search field top right corner of the window.
Delete saved vodafone keychains by control clicking the keychain then click Delete.
Back to Safari. Navigate to the vodafone website. Enter your user name and password as usual. Click Yes when prompted to save your password to a new keychain.
Do the same for any other sites that won't save passwords.

that you must allow: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences" "Browser History"

IPad 2 looses username and password with Microsoft Forefront TMG

My company uses Microsoft Forefront TMG as a proxy on our Guest wireless access. We have a guest username and password that changes every few weeks that iPads can use to access the internet at work - we are not allowed into the company network! Although I can put the guest username and password into the authentication dialog, the username and password are lost after the iPad has been off for several minutes and I have to reenter them. In the before iOS 5.0 versions I was able to set the wireless to automatically remember the password and to auto-fill the username and password each time. Now, the username and password that come up were from the pre-iOS 5.0 settings - it doesn't remember the new username and password from the last time that I logged in. This occurs with any App that attempts to log in after I turn the iPad on. The same issue comes up with other iPads here as well. Settings are: Auto-Join and Auto-Login set, HTTP Proxy Off. IP address received from DHCP.
Is there any setting that I can use to get around this problem?

The Apps worked when I originally got it (several days ago), and I could also log onto the websites.
Could it be my wireless router? I did notice that when my macbook pro is asleep, and I open it up to awake it, it sometimes disconnects my wifi signal (everything connected to my signal will lose it) for about 20 seconds, and then it will come back to.
Not sure if that is connected to my problem with logging into websites and apps, but I'll just put that info out there.

Username and password for Windows doesn't work for Safari

I just installed Safari 3.0.3 for windows under WindowsXP on local machine. But I have problem access local IIS.
Here is what I did:
1. type http://localhost in Safari
2. I get a pop up login window says "To view this page, you need to log in to area localhost on localhost:80",
3. I entered my username and password to Windows, then "Enter"
4. The pop up window comes back, it says "the name and password entered for are localhost on localhost:80 is incorrect."
I don't see this problem in IE or Firefox on the same machine. In Firefox, it pops a similar window ask for username and password, I entered the same username and password to Windows, it works. But in Safari, it doesn't.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem. thanks.

i've couple of ideas that might help...
1:
just wandering are either of you guys accessing the internet via a proxy server? if so i suspect that Safari is not by bypassing local addresses and hitting the proxy server first.
if this is the case, Safari should respect the same settings that IE does, so try setting IE and/or FF to bypass the proxy for local address/servers - and see if Safari now works...
2:
also, the text box that ask's you for your password, does it say on it somewhere, something like, "password will be sent clear" or "password will be sent encrypted"
i seem to get a similar problem, but with accessing our work ISA server, my localhost is fine btw. Anyway it might be the case the safari is trying to send a clear text password to an encrpyted password request or vica-verca (sp?) - soooo try setting your IIS to accept clear/basic authentation as well at NT Auth/Encrypted

mozilla fills user name when i click but after that it asks for main password (whats the purpose of remembering passwords if it will ask for main password)
by the way main password for password manager is of course useful but it şs useful whenever i want to use it not all the time i open mozilla .

my problem is not related with using main password or not...
in former versions of firefox i was automatically signed in to websites without any click... it wasnt asking me to sign-in (because my usernames and passwords were remembered-and saved in password manager)
in this version they are remembered again but i have to write first 2-3 letters of my username and it remembers my username then it remembers password...
for example when i clicked twitter.com my account and my homepage as automatically opened, but in this version when i click twitter.com it opens the sign-in page and i write first 2 letters of my user name it remembers name and password and then i signin
(difference i was at where i want to sign in with one click--- but in new version 1click for webpage-1 click for clicking to username are-1-2 letter writing to find my user name-1 click to remember password-1 click to sign in) an addition: also if i am using main password i am entering main password and click to sign-in
This can be little problem to u, but it is really annoying problem, 9-10 clicks more for each webpage which i wanted mozilla to remember my usernames and passwords... it also asks main password if i am using...
if i want to visit 5-6 different websites it means 70-80 clicks more and 50-60 letters typing according to your main password .. (in opera and mozillas former versions it is just 5-6 clicks)
so main problem is the cookies were remembered in all the sessions but after it updated to v.10.0.1 expiry date of cookies of same websites that i visit are just for one session... it is not related with the websites and their servers that i visit because if so how can Opera remembers all the time...

Why is it that Safari sometimes remembers my user name, sometimes the username and password, and more often not at all. Often I go to a web site and have to fill in the information over and over. How can I make safari remember and fill in all this?

From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Select the box next to: *User names and passwords*
Your passwords are actually stored in Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
When you login to a site, after selecting that box, after you enter your user name and password, you should be prompted to save that information, click Yes. That will create a new keychain for you.
Keep in mind, some banking and investment sites do not allow the "autofill" feature to do security.

Safari not remembering username and password

Hello, I have my settings set so that Safari remembers my username and passwords to make logins faster. One site I use for school has had my username and password saved since I first started using it. But all of a sudden, it's not remembering my information anymore. When I go onto the site, it doesn't automatically fill in everything like it used to. And the only way I know how to add usernames and passwords to Safaris list is when it prompts you to when on a new site. How can I "re save" my username and pasword? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You might be able to fix it by deleting the saved password from your keychain in the Keychain Access application. Search for it by the domain name of the site.

I manage two online calendar accounts under one website (both account admin centers actually have their own URL but the main root of the webpage is the same). My "user ID" (which is my e-mail address) is the same for both accounts.
Firefox used to associate the user ID and password with the ENTIRE URL so, in effect, it would remember them for BOTH admin centers. Now it seems to only remember the main root webpage (www.samplepage.com instead of www.samplepage.com/adminloginA).
How do I get it to remember the ENTIRE URL instead of just the root? I need it to remember both usernames and passwords.

That is not possible with the Firefox password manager. You can only save a user name and its password once for a specific domain, so if the name is the same then it doesn't work.

First, let me say that I'm extremely irritated that I just spent 15 minutes writing a very detailed question and researching my OS, browser version, etc. only to have it all erased because I didn't "verify" my e-mail before I started typing my question. Firefox: please fix your sign-up and question posting process so this doesn't happen. It should retain your info for a smooth process after you verify. What a waste of time and effort when I'm already frustrated.
ACTUAL QUESTION: I manage two online calendars under one root URL (www.samplepage.com/calendar1 and www.samplepage.com/calendar2). My e-mail address is the user ID for both accounts but the passwords are different.
FF used to associate your username and password with the ENTIRE URL but now it only associates with the root (www.samplepage.com). So, for me, it will only remember one password.
How can I get it to remember BOTH passwords?

Setting up SafePoint on NAS, myCloud doesn't ask for username and password

I couldn't find an answer to this in the forum. I'm trying to set up a Safepoint on a Synology NAS. I have it configured so that you need a user name and password to access this share the safepoint should go to. When I try to set the Safepoint up in MyCloud it will find my NAS, but will then say "Retrieving Shares", but won't show any.I believe this is where I shoudl be asked for a username and password. Maybe the MyCloud can't see the share because I haven't eneter the credentials yet, but I don't know where else to enter them. I tried it in different browsers in case it's some sort of JavaScript problem, but it also doesn't work in other browsers either. For security reasons I'm not keen on having the share public, without user name and password. How can I create a Safepoint on my other NAS?

According to the WD My Cloud User Manual it appears that one has to select the NAS where they want to save the share first before they are possibly given a screen where they can enter in a user name and password. See Chapter 11 in particular Steps 3 and 4 under "Creating a Safepoint". Step 4 shows an example of the username/password screen. If the Synology NAS is not being detected by the WD My Cloud user interface then obviously there is either a problem with how the Synology NAS is detected on the local network or a problem with the WD My Cloud detecting specific NAS devices on the local network. It goes without saying that both devices should be on the same local network and have IP addresses in the same IP range. For example both should have IP addresses in the 192.168.1.x range. I would suggest staying on Snow Leopard and using Soho to access iCloud contacts and calendars. Snow Leopard will allow access to iCloud mail without a problem.
Have you checked with Grass Valley as to the availability of updated software for their A to D converter?

I have used the ADVC 110, it required no software at all, just a Firewire connection, which converter are you using?
As for the multiple operating system idea, it will mess up your workflow much more than you expect.

Safari 5.0 will not prompt to remember username and passwords

Safari 5.0 will not prompt to remember username and passwords for new sites I joined. It will remember the old ones but not the new. Under Safari< preferences> the autofill in all 3 places is checked. A box used to drop down when joining the site for the first time and say... Save Never Not Now.
Now nothing happens. Anyone got any suggestions?

Go to ~/Library/Preferences and move the com.apple.keychainaccess.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
If that didn't help, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the *Safari Forms Autofill* keychain.
Relaunch Safari.

Hi folks
I am using an iPad 1 and wish to change my previous decisions regarding saving usernames and passwords for web pages within the safari browser.
I guess I have hit the "do not save" or similar option at some stage and I now wish to recall the username and password in future.

Make sure that Settings > Safari > AutoFill > Names And Passwords is set 'on'. To be able to store them for sites that you've previously said 'no' to you may also need to clear Safari's history and cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History). And possibly clear cookies : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies

How can I save or export the file containing stored usernames and passwords?

I'm about to update my desktop computer's operating system, which will mean my hard drive will be wiped. I want to save any file Firefox might have that contains usernames and passwords so I don't have to rebuild that file once Firefox is reinstalled. I've found such files for extensions and bookmarks but not for passwords.

email send/receive suddenly doesn't work (as of September 24th); I can't change email settings (one suggestion from tech) as BB phone won't accept *valid* username and password -- what to do?
I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.
Thanks for any hints. I have always loved this BB Bold and have never had any trouble with it.

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.
