Safari Feature Request: Adding a bookmark : viewing only directories in current directory and not subdirectories
Hi, when I add a bookmark (on iphone), all the directories (including subdirectories) are shown at once. When you have many directories (nested within each other), it becomes cumbersome to find the relevant directory you want to add the bookmark to. This could be made easier by allowing one to only view the directories within the current folder, and not also show all the subdirectories

I know what you mean. I have extra bookmarks that need cleaned out because I got a little lost in placing them and went back and placed them again.

I can not delete my history and adding new bookmarks.
Upgrading to later Firefox versions and/or re-installing didn't rectify it either.
The address bar still shows the web addresses of old and whenever I make new bookmarks, it's always gone as if it was never made.
Also, I have noticed that every once in awhile you can not close tabs you've opened, either by pushing on the X button and/or clicking on the mouse to close it. Don't delete the file, just delete the information in the file. My file has over 3600 websites, which go back years!! I did not know they were there, but I was frustrated about not being able to get rid of them. They popped up every time I used the address bar. Clearing my history would not get rid of them.
This is where they are stored!! I found that by deleting the pesky web site from '''moz_hosts''', it does not appear in my address bar anymore!!!
I think that if I just delete all the websites in moz_hosts....

As long as you don't delete the file, just empty it, FireFox won't know the difference. It will just keep adding websites to it until you empty it again.
Why running "clear recent history" doesn't do this, I don't know. You are doing manually what "clear recent history" is not doing.
Please tell me if you see any flaw in this.

Why are my text messages only going to my ipad and not my phone?
Why are my incoming texts only going to my ipad and not my iPhone?

How can I restore my data from iCal? I didn't make any backup, but I use time machine with an external HD. I deleted iCal when I deleted my gmail account. I have tried to restore, but I can only restore the iCal software and not the data.

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

Need to backup and remove photo library from my iphone. This library was previously backup on a hard drive that crashed. So these photos are only in the photo library and not in the camera roll. If I do a full backup, it only takes the camera roll.
So this is a 2 part question:
1) how to I backup the Photo Library to my new hard drive (as the last one was unrecoverable but previously backed up)
2) how do I remove the Photo Library form my phone (preferably after backup in item 1)
Thanks, JanisSince it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

Ainsi, quand je travaille sur un document, je ne suis pas ralenti par Autosave.

Why don't all my contacts and calendar events on my iMac (version 10.7.4) stream onto iCloud? For instance, there are 470 entries in my address book but only 270 on iCloud. And not all my appointments in iCal are transferred either.

i have 5 devices all on one itune account.i have not activated icloud because i dont want it to sync all our information together. is there a way to set it up to only sync the music together and not the contacts photos messages etc
Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, iCloud doesn't sync music. Just set up every person's devices on a separate iCloud account and your iCloud data and photo stream will remain separated. Each iCloud account will need a separate ID, but it does not need to be the same as your iTunes ID. You can continue to share the same iTunes ID and maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs for iCloud.
You'll also want to use separate IDs for each person for iMessage and FaceTime. This will keep your text messages and FaceTime called separated as well. The easiest way to do this is to have everyone use their iCloud ID for these two services as well. -

Are you using a Mac? It sounds like you are using his computer to sync to. If this is the case, then it will sync to all of his stuff unless a new user is created with your personal stuff on it.
When you want to sync your iPhone to that computer, switch to your user first, and then everything will sync with your stuff. If he wants to hook up his iPhone to sync it, then he needs to switch back to his own username first. -
I have been trying for two weeks to log into iTunes using my Bank of America Visa Debit card but no progress. Is it that iTunes does not use debit card, I only have a debit card and Not credit card, so does it mean I can't use iTunes .?
I believe if you haven't already setup an itunes account, if you have access to computer with iTunes installed , you can create an iTunes account on that computer with no credit/debit card and then just buy iTunes cards at your local retailer to get credits.

The 8600 plus worked just fine until hooking up the wireless Verizon router. The display locks/goes to sleep mode and the only way to make it work is unplug the printer and plug back in again. Tried setting printer to default settings and this fix
