Safari freezes when opening certain sites after java update

Since I downloaded the latest java update my computer freezes everytime I go to a website that is using javascript like Foxnews, etc. It freezes the computer. I must force quit Safari and disconnect from the internet before the computer unfreezes. It does it everytime. I have emptied the cache, repaired and verified permissions. I think I have troubleshooted everything with no luck. I can't even use firefox. Firefox now immediately goes back to the previous viewed page after it finishes loading the page I am trying to see. Very weird. All of this began after the update. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

Clearing the java caches hasn't helped me. I don't know what to do. Finally I just downloaded internet explorer. It works fine. What a shame though to have to rely on Microsoft to surf the internet on a Mac.

Safari freezing when opening certain webpages or opening after a long delay

I was not able to open certain Safari pages on my Mac Pro Workstation after updating to Snow Leopard and iTunes 9. I decided to see if I could open pages via Firefox and found the issue extended to Firefox as well. I tried my Mac Book which had also been upgraded to Snow Leopard and iTunes 9. Pages opened immediately in Safari and Firefox. I checked the System Profiles of the two machines to see what I had done differently on them. Turns out I had also installed the recently released HP Printer update on the Workstation and not installed the update on the Mac Book.
I ran the HP un-install utility on the Workstation. Made sure I deleted the un-installed files from the trash and rebooted the machine so that any remaining links in the Registry would be removed. Launched Safari and it works flawlessly. Firefox works perfectly as well.
I have no definitive way of determining if the HP update was the culprit unless I were to re-install and the issue were to return. I of course won't be re-installing the update until I can do a little more research.
Take this for what it is worth but the only difference I could find was the HP software update and the issue resolved itself once I removed it and rebooted.

You need to check something. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > About Safari
It it's version 5.1.6 or 5.1.7, updating to Safari 6 may help. Apple has not posted a Safari 6 standalone installer but there is a workaround.

Then click the link posted by: gregoryfromcork
That will automatically download this file > Safari6Lion.pkg.download
Now quit Safari.
Go to your Downloads folder and double click that file and follow the instructions for installing.
Then restart your Mac, try Safari.

Safari crashes when visiting certain sites

I recently downloaded Safari and it keeps crashing when visiting certain websites - www.ebay.com & www.animalcrossingcommunity.com
I also encountered the crash when visiting these forums and clicking Log In.
It also crashes after a few minutes no matter what website I'm on.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox right now, which is the only way I could access this webpage. I like Safari and want to stick with it.

SP 2010 - Getting "An unexpected error has occurred. " message when accessing Sharepoint site after windows update - Windows 7 Home Premium

I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.

Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

Safari crash when opening top sites

hi i need help, does anybody else have this problem?
for the past 2 days, everytime i try opening my top sites, safari crashes. i keep sending the crash report but nothing happens. i already tried reinstalling the safari application but i still have the same problem. opening a new tab that automatically opens my top sites also causes safari to crash so i already set my preferences to just open to a blank tab.
wat's wrong with my mac? wat should i do? pls advice. thanks

When sending a crash report to Apple, that goes to the developers. You will not receive a reply. In order to get help, you need to copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your Reply here.
If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Before you post the crash report, you may want to check for third party Safari add ons which could cause Safari to crash, help here for that.

Freezing when opening new site

Hi
This is driving me mad. Im DW8 and recently when Ive been
swapping between my sites in the 'files' window it freezes. Just
stopps and thinks FOR AGES, sometimes it eventually works, after
1/2 an hour or more, sometimes I have to leave it overnight. Is
this happening to anyone else or is there something I can do, Ive
reinstalled which changed nothing. Please help because I need to
get some work done.

Did you install or change anything on your system recently?
If so something else may be causing the problem.
Are you using the Mac version or Windows version? Are you
receiving any errors.
There is a possibility that the site definition file might be
corrupt and not re-caching when you flip between sites. Have you
tried re-creating the site files?
Have you scanned your computer for viruses (I am assuming you
have a program always running in the background if Windows)?
Have you checked your computer for spyware?

Mail freezes when opening certain messages

I have a few messages that I cannot open on mail , when I click on them the searching wheel starts to spin and freezes there and I need to force quit mail.

I've had the same problem for a while and I think I might have found a solution. I posted the below in a different forum. Let us know if it works for you:
So, I was reading the following document:

and this got me thinking that it might be a font issue. So I followed the instructions and looked at the font I have set as my default font, in my case Trebuchet MS, using Font Book (in your applications folder). Anyway, I noticed that there were two copies of "regular" installed. I disabled one of them and then I was able to respond to an email that was hanging all morning!!!!
So, look at your fonts for anything that looks suspicious like corrupted fonts (see document link) or duplicate fonts, etc....
I will report back if my Mail problems comes back again.

Safari Freezes When Opened

In OSX 10.3, I start up Safari, I see the menus across the top of the screen, but they don't work, and I have no browser window. I've restarted the machine (hoping a simple restart would remedy the problem), but that doesn't help. In OS9, I would have just trashed the preferences, but I can't seem to locate that in OSX. What do I do? Any help would be appreciated.

Glad your Safari is back up and running. Good job resolving your issue, the latest build for our os is a good idea imo, yes there"s tiger have that on the PB, of the 2 I prefer 10.3.9. I now it best.
I too hate explorer.
I concur, IE is just not an option. I just downloaded Shira for a second browser, i am very pleased with it, v. 1.2 the 1.2.2 is for intel imacShira

Quicktime: I stick to 6.5. it works quite well.
iTunes: 4.2 I dumped the itunes helper, it tends to get into startup items in accounts/ and runs in the back ground also some of the xtra packages. See this article.

How do I get around this bug: can't open my site after latest update?

I installed the latest update three days ago and have been working on my site up until 11 hours ago. Just opened it to work again and get an "updating assets" message that never ends.
Also since the update my businesscatalyst isn't working when I try to publish: "Query failed"
Supposed to launch test site Monday morning. Bad timing. Love Muse and hoped the update would resolve some glitches, not add more. How can I trust any updates now?

LE unexpectedly quits when opening song files after Security Update

hi!
Logic Express newbie here. I have just finished mixing a 7 song project but when i try to open the song/session files files from my external 400GB FireWire drive - LE stalls for a while then unexpectedly quits. this did not happen, of course, before applying the latest Security Update (2006-007). I'm using Logic Express 7.2.3, 10.4.8, 2Ghz iMac G5 20", 1,5 GB RAM. Anyone got a clue?

i also tried to move my files from the FW-drive to the startup disk and the problem persists. i can create new songs, save them and re-open them without hiccup in LE. what's happened to my files? any help greatly appreciated!

Photoshop cc is hanging when opening a file after I updated software a few days ago

I updated PS CC a few days ago, and now whenever I open a file to work on, it hangs and takes ages to load. The file appears but looks blurred in places then gradually loads completely and the blurring disappears, but takes at least three minutes to completely open a file

Safari will not open certain sites. I cannot get onto youtube, but i can get on apple site??? i want this working so i can change my homepage and never have to come back here, download firefox, because safari has given me NOTHING AT ALL, besides RUN AROUNDS AND PROBLEMS. thanks

I am also unable to load some websites. In my case, they are all Australian websites. These are websites that I have previously used for many years.
I have an Apple MacBook Pro and recently upgraded to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8 and Safari 6). I contacted Apple support by phone. They responded immediately, and spent 30 minutes with me trying a number of ways to correct the problem. They finally advised that it is not an Apple problem; that I need to contact website support at each of the websites that are not loading; and that I may need a unique plugin app from each website. Unfortunately, there are a lot of websites that are not loading. Any advice?

I updated to Safari 6.1 and now it freezes when opened

Yesterday I updated to Safari 6.1 and now it freezes when opened, although the overall system stays up. I updated to the latest Java and iTunes 11.1.2 at the same time. When I open Safari now, it pauses for a few seconds without going to the home page and then I get the spinning beach ball. I get two messages: One says that the plug-in for SplashID Safe has not been tested with this version of Safari (a message that I had been getting before the update and never caused a problem). The other message says, "Crash Protection It appears that Safari didn't quit properly. Do you want Glims to re-open your tabs anyway?" It gives me a choice to click "Cancel" or "OK". I have tried clicking them (before the beach ball appears) and it makes no difference. The version of Glims I am running is out-of-date.
The only available crash report is almost a month old and therefore is of no help.
I made a back-up with SuperDuper just before updating and can reverse the update if I do it soon, but I would like to get this working.
I would appreciate any advice.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Exensions tab.
If there are any installed, switch the button to off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If there is more than one extension insalled, uninstall one a time, quit and relaunch Safari and test.
