Safari freezing.. Can't open tabs, disapears??? on new Maverick

Downlaoded Maverick last night before I went to bed. Now Sarfari is messed up Bad.

Most of the many reports of Safari problems after upgrading to Mavericks are due to the unsupported hack called "Glims." If applicable, back up all data, then remove it according to the developer's instructions. Log out, log back in, and test. I strongly recommend that you never reinstall it. If you do, you should expect the crashing to resume every time Safari is updated by Apple.

Thank you for the update. I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID associated with or used to purchase iPhoto on the App Store under the Store menu.
If you are signed in with an alternate Apple ID, I recommend signing out of the App Store, signing back in with the correct Apple ID, and then trying the update again:
Sign out
Choose Store > Sign Out.
Sign in using an Apple ID
Choose Store > Sign In, or click Sign In in the Quick Links section. The Quick Links section is located in the right part of the window shown when you click Featured, Top Charts, or Categories in the toolbar.
Enter your Apple ID and password, and then click Sign In.

Safari 5 issue with opening tabs in a new window

Hi all,
As we all know, the easiest way to open a tab in a separate window is to drag it out of the tab bar and release the mouse button to let it appear as a window. I used to do that a lot and I never had a problem until I upgraded to the latest version of Safari 5. Since then, whenever I do so and release the mouse button, the tab sticks to the pointer for a few seconds and then it automatically turns into a window but with a distorted outlook, which only gets fine if I minimise and maximise the window again. I even screen captured this problem. You can watch it here:

Do you guys have any idea what is causing this problem? Is anyone else having the same experience?

HI and welcome to Apple Discussions...
Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari. If Safari functions as it should, move the .plist file to the Trash.
If that didn't help, in a Finder window select your home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder.
Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.

Since installing an icon-editing add-on, I can't open tabs any more / I can only use one tab at a time.

Ever since I installed the add-on Favicon Picker 2 that lets you change the bookmark icons, I can't open tabs any more. The second tab will open, but if you try to go to a site, the FIRST tab redirects to that site. Basically, I can only use one tab at a time. Is there any way I can keep this add-on and use tabs?

Oh, wow - look at that, you're right :) I didn't want to uninstall the add-on as I like the feature, but simply by disabling it you can keep the new icons AND use tabs. Thanks dude!
(The add-on is Favicon Picker 2 0.6.2.15 by the way - some of the user reviews report the same problem.)

Thanks Carolyn. Unfortunately, this didn't work. It turned out to be in my display monitor as I have my computer wired to my tv for streaming. Once I changed the monitor display it worked fine. Go figure

Here is what I am seeing on my Android device - at the top, a few options like History > Top Sites> Bookmarks>Reading List. Then, the search/address bar, then to the right of that, a square with the number "1" inside it, then 3 dots that, when chosen, give you the following options:
New Tab
New Private Tab
Request Desktop Site
Tools
Settings
Any thoughts on how I specifically sync my Desktop open tabs to my Android device so I can then see all my desktop open tabs on my phone?

I have Mac Mini OSX 10.6.2; Safari states "can't open server since url starting with 'open-help-anchor'. I didn't type this but possibly I was hijacked but it only occurs on the specific banking site I'm trying to get into. How do I get into the web site I've always been able to get but now this is blocking it? Is this related to cookies?

I started a thread in safari maverics, I ment to put it in iOS Safari. New Thread lists all the steps I've taken. No I haven't tried another browser. I've only ever used Safari on my iDevices.

Firefox will not open tabs in a new window

When I right click a tab, and select the option "Open in a new window", Firefox does not respond.
I can add as many tabs as I like, but can not open them in a new window.
I can also right click a link and open it in a new tab, but Firefox does not do anything when I try to open the link in a new window.
I reinstalled Firefox on my computer, and also updated Java and it did not solve the problem.
This started happening about a week ago for no apparent reason.

First check to see if an add-on is causing this problem, for details on how to do that see the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.
If that does not help, try creating a new profile. Firefox stores user data in the profile folder, creating a new profile will show if the problem is with the old profile. For how to do that see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows Creating a new Firefox profile on Windows]. If the new profile works, you can transfer select data such as bookmarks and passwords to the new profile. DO not copy the preferences file, and it is best to re-install add-ons. When I use the new Pages on my iPad, I can't open it on my new computer. It tells me that I must download the new Pages to see the Pages document, but when I try to download the new pages to my computer it tells me all apps are up to date.

When I use the new Pages app. On my IPod to type documents, I can't open them on my new computer. It sends me a message that I have to download a newer version of pages to see the Pages document. When I try to do that it tells me all my apps are up to date and will not allow me to upgrade the pages on my iMac.

Firefox doesn't install new versions of plugins, but Flash may update itself automatically.<br />
You are still one version behind on Flash, current is Flash 10.1 r85<br />
If the Flash player didn't update properly then you need to download the full version and run the installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as ...)

You would need to update to PSE 12, or just keep using the DNG converter. Your camera requires ACR 8.4, which isn't compatible with PSE 11. It's also not compatible with PSE 12 if you are running Vista or XP.
