Safari gives up loading images too early

Hi
I have noticed that Safari (currently I am using 3.1.1 but I had noticed this behavior on earlier versions as well) usually gives up on loading images too early.
I have a 30Mbps internet connection and also in Firefox and Opera I do not experience the same problem.
Is this a known issue? Are there currently any workarounds around this problem?
Regards,
Behrang

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click:   Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Safari won't load images

I just upgraded to Leopard which included Safari 3.0.4. Now Safari won't load many pictures on the page that it would before I upgraded. When I use my iPhone with the same wireless connection, the images load fine and completely.
When I right click on the Little Blue Question Marks to open the files, I get the "Safari can’t find the server. Safari can’t open the page “http://*” because it can’t find the server “*” message.
Now these open fine on my iPhone. Why won't they open on my MacPro?
I have emptied my cache, reset Safari and rebooted my machine. I UTFS and found several people having similar problems. I did the fixes that applied to my situation and nothing has changed. What is the next step? Do I need to reload an older version of Safari?

    Hi,
I had the same issue and the fix you suggested solved the problem. However - I was wondering if you could give a little more details on what you think the problem is.
Here are a few tests that I performed:
This was one of the image urls that did not function in Safari on my laptop:
    http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/30-122-124-TS?$S125W$
I would get an error saying that Safari could not find the server.
When I tried the same URL on Firefox and Opera on the same machine it worked fine.
    Pinging the server worked too.
When I tried it in Safari on another machine (same network - wired ethernet) it worked.
What I am trying to understand is why Safari was the only program not being able to find the server.

  • SAFARI WILL NOT LOAD IMAGES

On my laptop safari works fine but on my G5 safari now will not load images or has a ? where images should be any help out there please

    Hello Fraser:
We may not have the problem isolated. Are you connecting the computer that "works" in the same way that the one that "works" is connected?
There is nothing inherent in either Safari or OS X that I am aware of that would cause the problem you describe.
A general "fix" for some Safari performance problems (after clearing the cache) is to trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart (enter your personal Safari preferences). You might also trash the "favicon" file as that can slow Safari if it gets too large (~library>safari>icons).
I would also turn off all items in the Safari preferences under "autofill" and turn on all the web content boxes under "security."

  • Safari has stopped loading images

Ok so I seriously need some help quickly here, I've been on my laptop all day and it's been fine but since about an hour ago (although I didn't know the extent of it until just now after trying a few different webpages) Safari has just stopped loading any images whatsoever. I thought it may have just been a Youtube glitch, where I first saw it, when the thumbnails weren't loading but the videos were working fine but now I've noticed that no webpage is loading any images at all, no logos, no photos, no buttons in some cases which must be clickable images I guess. I've tried the good old 'quit and reopen it and hope it's fixed itself' method and tried restarting my entire Macbook (a mid-2011 Macbook Air if it makes any difference) but neither has fixed it. Has something been disabled/enabled somehow that I'm not aware of or what?
To note too I also updated Safari yesterday to 6.1.5, along with iTunes and some security settings too I think when the system update popped up if that may have effected it somehow although it's been working fine all day up until now. I seriously need some help asap!

  • Safari Top Sites Loaded **** Image

I was shocked this morning when I opened a new tab and got a full screen pornographic image lasting less than a second prior to top sites being loaded. I was unable to re-create this occurrence. I use this laptop for work and family purposes, it is a clean machine. I leave my MB on over night with safari opened. I have ClamX AV Sentry running as well. Has anyone experienced this today, ever? I reported this as a bug to apple. Is it possible that top sites got hacked?
    Thank you,

    Hi Dr. Data
I don't use topsites... but the images are stored in Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Webpage Previews/
The rogue image may not be in there, since regardless of source, topsites doesn't ordinarily display any one item full screen, so far as I know.... but it's a start.

  • Safari isn't loading images on pages since this morning.

    For instance,if I go to apple.com,
all I get is lines on the screen and the titles
of what is supposed to be there. No images.
This happens on all sites, some worse than others.
Firefox is fine. No problem seeing all sites with Firefox.
    I'm using a Macbook Pro, C2D 2.33 ghz 2 GB machine.
Updated to 10.4.10 and Quicktime a few days ago.
No trouble seen right after the update. Everything was fine.
    Help. Safari is now useless.
    Dan

    Hi Dan
    You're welcome. Glad to help.
Did you add any 3rd party items to Safari? Sometimes, this can affect preference settings. Regardless, glad this sorted it out for you.
Kudos for trying another user account to troubleshoot prior to starting this topic. Makes it easier on this end to quickly narrow the possibilities of what might be causing the problem.

  • Safari Unable to load images

    Hi
I have tried to add OpenDNS into my network settings(4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2). But the issue still exists. Can anyone give any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

Those are not OpenDNS settings. They are

  • Safari refuses to load phpMyAdmin icons

Safari refuses to load image file from our web server phpMyAdmin because of content-security-Policy, yet all other browsers such as Chrome load the images (icons).  Attached is a screen shot. This is version 4.01 of phyMyAdmin and the same problem occurs all the way back to phpMyAdmin version 3.5.7 which loads the images (icons).  I can find no content-security problem. Hopefully, I have posted to the correct community since only Safari is creating the problem. Running Safari 5.1.9 on Snow Leopard (10.6.8)
    All feedback is appreciated.

I had the same problem. I'm also running Safari 5.1.9 on Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I just installed phyMyAdmin 4.0.5 and got the same results as on your screenshots.
The problem is the CSP header that blocks the load of external images.
If you comment out some lines in phpMyAdmin-4.0.5/libraries/Header.class.php, you can deactivate the image blocking of the CSP header.

  • Why won't safari load images and connect to websites?

We've had this problem intermittently for several months. When visiting SOME websites (though never the same ones twice) instead of loading images, it comes up with a blue question mark in a box. if we try to reload the page, it will do one of two things: it will either reload exactly the same, or, it will reload in a format that shows vertical written links - no images. it almost looks like programming language, but it's readable.
also, when we go between links, we often get the message that "safari can't find the server". this is, again, erratic. If i try to go directly to the same website by typing in the address in the bar, i will get the connection. (so, if i go from youtube for example to try to connect to another website it won't work. but if i try to go directly to that website by just typing in the address myself, i can get it.) as i said, it doesn't always happen, but when it does it's a real pain!
lately, i've had a new problem too, which seems to relate: when using hulu.com, it will not load the show saying it is unavailable and to clear my cache. I've done that... and it still won't reload. yet, when i go to google, and search hulu.com, and go to the website that way, i can get to the show page no problem. Or, i have to quit safari and then go back to hulu and, again, no problem.
sometimes we can go for days without the problem, sometimes not.
any ideas on how to help this problem would be MOST appreciated! thanks

    blue question mark in box
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Appearance tab. Make sure Display images when the page opens is selected.
For server issues, try turning off the router for a few minutes, then restart it.
Hulu requires the Flash plugin. Uninstall your current copy of Flash, then reinstall >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Try emptying the Safari cache more often.
And reset Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
And how much free space on the startup disk?     Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Try Safari in another user account. Same problems there, then log back into your admin account, launch Disk Utility.  /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions). If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

  • Safari is loading webpages extremely slow and not loading images...

Not loading webpages a lot of the time and not loading images on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'm new to Mac and I'm running Safari on a Mac Mini. Help? Also deleted ~/Libraries/Safari and it didn't work.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.
    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Safari not loading images but other browsers are.

As the title denotes, I'm having this issue with safari that some images are not loading and I only get a blue question mark square. I have seen other forums with this question but it seems that my scenario is a little different, because other browsers like firefox can display images with no problem. Also for example, when I do a google image search only several images get to load while others don't. If I click refresh they finally get loaded but sincerely they take a lot more time to load than on firefox (sometimes refreshing doesn't work either) It might not be such a problem in an image search but on pages like facebook it is quite a hassle.
I don't know what might be causing it, (I don't believe its got to do with my internet connection since firefox has no problems whatsoever.) At first I thought that maybe an update might do the trick so I installed Safari 4 Beta which gave me only a slight better loading of the images.
Now to help see my case I've got some points to say in advance:
    1) I don't think it is webpage specific but I frequently see it in google image search and facebook
    2) I am using mac OS X 10.5.6
    3) Every time an image doesn't load, the activity window says "can't find host"
    4) As said above, I'm using Safari 4 Beta. But still I had this problem with the previous Safari

    Hello,
We also have a problem with Safari only partially loading pages, or not loading them at all (a blank page is displayed). It happens intermittently, and affects some websites more than others.
It's definitely not an Internet issue as all other browsers (FF 3.5.1, latest Opera, Navigator, IE 6, 7 and 8 via Parallels Desktop) can display the pages normally.
I don't think it is related, but most of the websites that are affected are hosted at MediaTemple:
    http://www.bedsupperclub.com
    http://www.soundphuket.com
    http://www.silqbkk.com
    http://www.bedmgmt.com/
Reloading the page doesn't help (we tried reloading a gazillion times).
The issue affects all computers in our office (iMacs, MBP, MB).
We are using the latest version of Safari (4.0.2), it's an issue that we also experienced with 4.0 and the Beta.
We are gradually shifting to Firefox as this issue is really frustrating.

  • Is there a way to not load images in safari? Like on android you can tick a box to load images or no to the internet?

Is there a way to not load images in safari on ios 7 like in android there is
The option to load or not load images?

My reply here was specific for this thread, but as you noted, I didn´t read careful enough. I wrongfully took for granted that issues in the More Like This box was platform dependent. I tried to apolgize accordingly, I would like to see the post deleted, but that doesn´t stop you from policing obviously.
And instead of arrogantly replying about matters irrelevant for this thread, maybe you should start reading more carefully yourself. The posts you are referring to are related to large images failing to load properly in Safari 7. This is not as you claim "vaguely related". Take this elsewhere if you have a problem with it.
Again, sorry for messing up the thread.

I'm having an issue with Safari not loading websites correctly. It happens on BBC and Apple website. All I get is the text, no banners, images, thumbnails, nothing. Can anyone shed light as to why this is happening. My internet is connection is fibreoptic and is 55mb/second

  • Safari 6 intermittently not loading images or doesn't load pages.

Not sure if anyone else is having any issues like this. Safari doesn't load pages at all or pictures just do not load at all. It seems like if I restart my browser and try to go to the page again I can get pages to load but not always. Its not the Internet speed or the speed of my computer. I'm thinking it might be an issue with the Virus Scanner that I'm using??? Avast. Any Ideas????

I had the same problem until today and I hope this helps.  I'm always emptying the caches and probably in a hurry I did not noticed that instead of emptying the caches I went a little bit farther and hit the disable images button.  So, go to Develop Menu and make sure that disable images is uncheked.
