Safari gone!

Not sure if I deleted it accidentally or what, but it's not on my iphone now.  Is there anyway to get it back on?

Check Settings>General>Restrictions to be sure that Safari is set to On.  If it is, check all of your screens and inside all of your folders.  You can also swipe the screens to the right to bring up Spotlight search, then search for Sarari.  If it's in a folder, the folder name will appear to the right of the icon.

  • Bookmarks in Safari gone

Help! my bookmarks in safari on macbook are gone for some reason... is there any way to restore them? and i do not have the time machine backup :/...does the system somewhere keep these files?????

I also lost all of my bookmarks after the ios6 upgrade on my 4S  Not only that, but when I try to add a bookmark it won't add it to the bookmarks section.  So frustrated that this new ios6 is so buggy.  I am also having trouble connecting with my wi fi despite multiple solutions suggested in the other forums, but that's another story.  Apple needs to get their act together.

  • Safari is gone from my iphone since april 18th 2011, how do I get it back and where is my safari gone?

Something went wrong om monday april 18th. After an update of i-tunes the foto's I took on my Iphone were gone as well as the video's and sms messages. Also Safari is gone. What to do? I tried to restore a backup; did not help......

    Reinstall iTunes application.
Copy /Music/iTones/ folder from your backup you made before you wiped the computer, to /Music/ then open iTunes.

  • Start up solved but where has Safari gone?

I recently posted start up woe. In the end I resolved this by re-installing Panther CD1 and CD2. There I am happily back upon my desktop. Connected to the internet by Airport and downloaded a week's worth of e-mails. I have sent a test e-mail and I am plainly functioning. Now one hitch: Safari has gone on safari. It purports to open as an application in the sense that it is visually there and marked as open in the dock. But all of the options on the menu are unresponsive. I cannot open anything, I cannot type an address. I cannot click on history or bookmarks or anything. Those words are showing on screen menu but they are, as it were, dead. I cannot find a way in to make it respond. If this is something to do with re-installing, can I find a way to get it back??!!
    Tim Rose

I should add to the above that I have just checked internet explorer and all is well, so it is literally the application of safari itself and nothing to do with internet connection. It is visible on the screen but I can do nothing with it - type nothing into it etc...

  • Camera and Safari gone !!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!!!

I got a IPhone 3GS 16 gig with ISO 4.02 installed the other day. Yesterday while making a call my camera and safari disappeared. I looked in restrictions under general and they are greyed out. I tried to turn them on and they are still greyed out. I did a complete restore and no luck. They both worked fine and I have had no problems at all with them. I use my camera daily for work and safari daily for work and now they are gone SOMEONE HELP !

If the options under restrictions are grayed out, this means restrictions is not enabled.
If you have restrictions enabled and you are unable to turn restrictions off for a selected app, this is different.
If you don't have restrictions enabled, on your iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Finder, Mail, Safari gone haywire - ripping my last hairs out!

Ever since I installed Leopard on my dual 2.0 G5 (early 2005 model), the Dock, Mail, and to some extent Safari have gone nuts. With no discernible pattern, every once in a while, when I click on Mail in the Dock, all I get is a Finder window showing my Applications folder with Mail. If I launch it from that Finder window (which it sometimes will do, other times not) Mail then acts very strange, automatically opening a new email message (that I can't get rid of without force quitting), and not allowing me to get into my mailboxes. It doesn't "freeze", but it might as well. All I can do is restart the machine.
When the above happens in Dock, Safari then sometimes goes nuts as well. When I click on a menu bar bookmark, a new tab opens, but Safari doesn't function properly. It just keeps opening new tabs.
Additionally sometimes, again with no discernible pattern, no matter what (anywhere on my desktop) I try to click, I get a little window with "options" that won't let me do anything (I have to restart).
I've had to restart my machine more times since I installed Leopard two weeks ago than I have for the entire time I've owned it. So far I'm way less than impressed with Leopard's functionality, and I'm having flashbacks to the six weeks (or more) I spent trying to get my trusty old Apple II functional when I "upgraded" from System 6 to System 7 all those years ago. I still have grey hairs and wrinkles from that fiasco.
Please, please, please tell me I'm not the only one that this is happening to, and that there's an easy fix.
I really don't want to call Apple, since the people in Bangalore don't have a clue (all they can do is read from their scripted flow chart).
I'm pulling what's left of my hair out here...
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Noel, you are welcome;~[)
I went to Activity Monitor and quit this in my user directory, but there is another process called "Norton Privary Con" in root which won't close, even if I enter the administrator password.
Will this disappear if I uninstall this app?
PS Don't mean to sound dim, but how exactly do I uninstall it?!?
You do not sound dense; ) it is not a fun group of products to unistall
did the software come with an unistaller ? They generally do not work,
    generous of them, eh?
The process should halt, it just goes to show just how top dog it is running
in Root, is this a process you saw in the Activity monitor ?
Perhaps you should post a question in the Unix forumrequesting if there is a command to halt it's process with sudo, using Terminal.
In the meanwhile It maybe best to continue searching for an uinstaller for your product expressly Symantec Norton Privacy Control 2.0.4
Go to their site and see if you can find an unistaller, I will continue to look as well.
Here is a link to Uninstall NOrton.
However it may leave behind some files.* depending on which Norton you have installed.
Download and run Cocktail in "Interface" > "Finder" choose
to see "invisibles". Or use OnyX
    After the unistall.
Look for files like these on the top level of your hard drive:
    /Norton FS Volume 2
    /NAV Mac 800QS File
    /Norton FS Data 808K
    /Norton FS Volume
    /Norton FS Index
Find those files drag them (not command-delete) to
    the trash and empty it.
Know that uninstalling NOrton can cause Kernel panics it was true for
my machine others, including a user here in Safari very recently.
At least you will know what the origin is.

    Eme

  • Button icons from finder and safari gone

My iMac updated Safari on 8-13-14 and ever since then the icons from the navigation menu of both Safari and Finder have Disappeared. What do I do to Fix this?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Key chain dissapeared - can not recreate - also safari gone wrong

i was working on my email and had safari opened. I had an error message trying to read an email account and it said your keychain can not be found, reverst to default? I said no and since I have no key chain and can't recreate one. error message is error occured while creating key chain.
I then tried to access this forum though safari and it worked well until the login screen where is said:
    Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “https://www.apple.com/support/mod_ssl:error:HTTP-request”. The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
i have a backup of my keychain on idisk but when i try to access it it says there is no keychain to write the password to. if I cancel, nothing happens, if i say reset, i go into a loop with the same error asking for a passw but saying it can't be saved
i guess there is some corruption somewhere but have no idea what I can recreate or delete

i will be backhome in 6 hours, will check email and this forum then, hopefully with a solution...
    thanks

The only way that I know of to fix this problem, is to reinstall the system software. You can choose and option that will import you current settings after the system is installed and all you files will be put in a folder labled "Previous System." I would still back up any important files you may have because I don't know how reliable it is or to what extent it works.

  • Safari gone wonky

I have a chat room that I used to be able to click on to links by others. I never could copy and paste myself. Now I can't even click links.
So, I tried to reload Safari. I get a message stating:
You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer.
Only thing is, I have 10.5.5 so I shouldn't be getting this message.
So I reloaded 10.5.5 and that didn't work either.
I am out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Right. I didn't delete anything. I just moved Safari to the trash as sort of a holding position. But I didn't empty it. After trying to reload Safari, which didn't work, and the system, which did load but didn't change anything, I pulled Safari out of the trash and put it back in the application folder and so on...
Then I loaded Firefox. It works. It's a little too PC for my taste, but it works.
Thanks for the advice. I will try loading Safari from the disc.
By the way. I regularly fix the permissions. That was the first thing I tried. I am still baffled about why Safari went wonky on me. It worked for a while after I loaded the 10.5.5 update so I doubt if the problem is there.
Just so you know, I also use Camino. But in a Parachat chat room it's worse than Safari. Apple really should do something about running the latest Java updates that are available to PC users. It's almost the only complaint I have about the OS on this computer.

  • IOS4 Camera/Safari Gone

I updated to iOS4 and everything was fine, however yesterday the Camera and Safari apps vanished!
These cannot be downloaded via the App Store, how can I get them back?

If they aren't on another page, or in a folder, see if you have restrictions enabled:
    Settings > General > Restrictions

  • HT2497 safari gone missing :(

i dont have safari on my mac osx like i have three acounts 2 of them have it but the other acount doesent have safari or google chrome i need safari on my other acount if anyone can help me id apreciate it so much

If you have three accounts on the machine and two of them have access to safari then you do too.  Sounds like you only deleted the pointer to it in your dock.  Open your /Applications folder (on your boot drive) and drag the Safari icon into the left side of your dock (left of the dashed diveder line).

  • My safari gone

safari is not in my application folder or on my desktop it was in my dock and i clicked on it and it said disabled....help...please ?

    Hi,
Click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ...
You can download and re install Safari 4.1.3. Make sure and update your system software first as the minimum requirements for Safari 4.1.3 is Tiger v10.4.11
    Safari 4.1.3 for Tiger
Once the updates are installed, repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

  • Safari gone walkabout

So,,,Im running 10.4.5 and download clamxav antivirus. now three days later the only sign of safari is an icon in my dock (1mb application, according to spotlight) which does nothing. I've tried the security patch 1.1 no luck. I've deleted the bookmark plist no luck. Where is my safari?
P.s The same thing has happened to Word - vanished without a trace! Any clues???

With regard to Flash Cookies (aka LSOs), it is possible to block them completely while fooling sites that set them that they are doing so. The fooling bit is necessary to get some streaming media to work, in particular BBC iPlayer, which now tries to set one from emp.bbc… etc.
It's a bit involved, but I've been using it set this way for at least six months now and haven't had any further re-generated cookies.

  • Safari Gone Secure problem?

I will try to explain this the best I can. I downloaded a huge update for safari a while back, since then safari would open but no window would open. I had Firefox also so I deleted safari, and went to apple to re download it: Found out I can't do it that way? I had to install from my start up disc ?? OK so tried that... Still no safari??? Now I'm noticing something else. I cannot see those security things that websites use where you have to type the blurry word. What is that all about, and how can I find Safari?

    HI,
Did you look in your Applications folder? If not, try there. Or, try Spotlight. Click the magnifying glass icon top right in your screen. Type in: Safari and press your Return key.
Also, your profile indicates you are running Mac OS X v10.5.1. If that is correct, you need to update to v10.5.8 in order to run Safari.
I cannot see those security things that websites use where you have to type the blurry word. What is that all about, and how can I find Safari?
One thing at a time. Let's find Safari first.
Might be a good idea to see how much free space you have on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

  • Safari gone from iPad.

We have over 100 students using iPads. Safari has disappeared from one of their iPads. It does not show up as an icon or in app searches. It also is not shown under settings. What do we do?

    Hi ..
Safari is a pre installed app that cannot be deleted.
Tried Spotlight right? Swipe top to bottom of any home screen then type Safari in the search field top of the window.
If it doesn't show up in the Dock or Settings, try a reset.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.
If necessary, restore the iPad > iTunes: Restoring iOS software
