Safari google image bug

Hey there,
I've updated to iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 3GS and since then when I use Google images via Safari I cannot click the images to enlarge them or switch to another page, prior to this update it was working correctly.
Note I have tried to reset my phone by holding the sleep button and home button together until the Apple logo appears, I've also tried to clear my history, cache/browsing data and Wesite data through Settings > Safari.
Help is much appreciated,
Thanks.

I don't want to sound ungrateful for your help, and I may look into that, but it doesn't answer my question.
The functionality I am experiencing has changed. I really want to know whether there is something wrong with my iPhone settings, or if Google and/or Apple have changed something in the last couple of days.
Can you (or ANYONE) please tell me if you still have the 'normal' image search in Safari?

  • The 10.6.2 upgrade hasn't yet resolved the google images bug

I write for the second time and for the same bug: safari 4.0.4, even firefox 3.5, can't shows images in google images, blogspot blogs and google maps.

if i understand your question correctly: this is not a safari or firefox issue. web developers have the hard time of trying to make their web sites run on all browser and OS. they have to modify the site so that is compatible with as many as possible. but it is impossible to accommodate all of them. it would help us if you gave us links with examples as i have not noticed any missing or disfigured images on any google site [on (windows running safari, firefox and internet explorer), or(mac running safari and firefox) or on my linux set up]

  • Safari & Google images, iPhoto hang ups

Why is it since I upgraded to OSX 10.8 whenever I search Google images Safari 6.0 gets hung up and I get the spinning circle? Actually the same thing happens with iPhoto throught he finder. I have repaired permissions, repaired hd, run Onyx, and everything comes up good. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

  • IPad 2 safari google images won't all load

    What's wrong?

It would be nice, rbi, if you actually tried the app prior to commenting.  This problem just showed up, just today. It has nothing to do with flash, it is the image search for google for crying out loud. It is some sort of change with google and it *****. Perhaps it is their way of forcing iPad users to use their crappy app. Great. Thanks. Another good experience ruined by the lame politics between corporations. I am sure that some idiot mid level executive is very proud of themselves right now.

  • Safari 6 "Images" search results don't show digital storage size info anymore - Fix?

I've now noticed, finally using Safari 6 more often now .... that when doing a google subject search (and selecting the "images" results versus the "search" results at the top header bar of Safari), that Safari 6 now only shows a huge listing the images themselves. If you slide your cursor over any of the images, a small black highlight bar appears under the image and shows its pixel dimensions  (as in 000 x 000 pixel dimentional size), but Safari 6 shows no digital size info of the image in kb's (kilobites) or posibly MB's (megebites) .... like it used to in the past.
On previous Safari google "image" search results you saw the images, along with their pixel dimentional size (000 x 000) and their storage size ( 00kb / 00MB) listed in small text under the image.
Is there any way to set Safari to show not only the "images" dimensions (which it now does), but also to show the images over all storge size?
I know if you use the additional "search tools" selection text, that a sub set of selector menus appears, listing "any size", "any color", Any type" Any time" All results" .... but none of these will set "images" storage sizes (kb, MB, etc.).  Even using a "larger size" only selection setting doesn't always guarantee that a larger size only seach results will be of larger pixel quality.
I often use Safari and google to find "comp" art images, etc. for rough art placement on projects, and it's now almost impossible to search through Safari's google "images" results without knowing what "quality size" the image can be found at.
    Any thoughts on this fix?

Actually, as I forgot to mention .... is this above issue a Safari 6 or Google search result issue? I'm starting to think that it may be Google's "images" results that don't show the images storage size anymore, and possibly not Safari's problem.
Either way, is there any fix to this issue ... a plug-in, etc.?

  • Safari iOS 7 bug: not rendering images

Safari has a bug, it does not render image from The Economist at all:
    http://www.economist.com/node/21586620?fsrc=scn/gp/wl/dc/politicsandpurse
Same goes for Safari modules that are used by other apps, e.g. Google+.
Chrome with data compression renders OK, but it does so because data compression goes through Google server, and only decoding is done on machine.
This all took place on iPad Mini.
    Shame on Apple Inc.

    Hi there,
    I can confirm this bug.
Not sure if this info is relevant, but this is my experience:
I am on the FIDO network, and so are two other people I know.
We all tried blocking numbers, and calls ring right through. Text messages are blocked successfully. (never tried facetime)
I also tried a ROGERS device running IOS7, and was successfully able to block my phone call from ringing through. HOWEVER, my call was forwarded to their voicemail, I was able to leave a voicemail for the person, and they did get an alert that they had a new voicemail.
I have not yet had a chance to test this on Bell, Telus, or any other carriers.
Spoke to Apple, and they advised me to do a hard reset (hold both buttons to shut off and reboot the phone), and if that fails to do an iOS restore.
I have yet to try this, but hopefully someone will have a better solution.

  • Google Images not working in Safari on Iphone

Since a while back the "images"-tab in google does'nt work on the iPhone in any of the browsers I've tried. I've searched the net to find others with the same problem but with little luck. Here's a description of the problem.
For example I search for "dog" in google in the Safari browser, this works just fine.
Then I press the "images"-tab and get a thumbnail view with pictures of dogs, of course.
But this is where it all goes wrong, when touching one of the images I get an enlarged view of an image next to it. The "back to the results" and "full image" buttons dim out (without being touchable) and swiping does not work. I don't know what has caused this to stop working properly, I know its not the new iOS version though.
HERE is a youtube video I prepared that explains the problem.
First, is there anyone else out there with this problem?
Second, this is what I've tried:
    - Other iPhone web browser applications, for example "Mercury", "Opera Mini", "Skyfire" and none of them works except "Dolphin" (good work).
    - Resetting any of the settings in the phone, clearing cache and such have no effect.
    - Resetting the iPhone totally, factory settings. No effect.
    - Using someone elses iPhone. I've tried on an iPhone 4 and iPhone 3S, same problems (with iOS 5.01).
    - Trying out all of the settings in google, no change.
    - Setting the google view to "classic" instead of "mobile" works of course, but that makes the site look just like on a PC or Mac and is not what I'm after.
Third, this problem seems to just affect Swedish users from what I can tell. There would be thousands of posts about this if everyone in the world was affected by it, but so far I've seen no posts on this matter. But after searching a while I found a swedish forum site on the subject. Link (in swedish). Also, when visiting google from Sweden some form of script automatically changes the url from .com to .se. I don't know if this has something to do with it?
Anyone know what causes this problem and how It might be resolved?
    Best Regard
    Stefan, Sweden

    Hi Stefan,
First; this must be the most thorough error discription I have ever seen. Impressive.
Second; yep for a couple of weeks now I've been having exactly the same problems as you describe. One other thing that I've noticed, is that for me, the 'word suggestion drop down list' or whatever it's name is, no longer works. More specificly:
I open Safari in my iPhone, surf to Google image search and type for example "dog" in the search field. Below the field, I now get a list of suggested words or phrases that I think is based on the most popular searches. For me, the first suggestion in this list is "dogo argentino" (a specific and popular breed of dogs). When I tap on the words "dogo argentino", the search field normally would switch input from "dog" to "dogo argentino" AND starts the image search automatically. However, since the problem showed up, when I tap on "dogo argentino" the input field is not affected (still reads "dog") and I would have to type "dogo argentino" manually and hit "search".
I use a Swedish iPhone 4S (5.0.1 (9A406)) in the Telenor network. I also have tested the same possible solutions that you describe in your post, but with no luck.
    All the best,
    Ingo

  • I cannot display google image/sometimes facebook image too using safari 6

I cannot display google image/sometimes facebook image too using safari 6. please help

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

  • Safari doesn't show Google Images

When I search for something on Google Images, the page loads with no problem, except for the images, they stay blank. But when I click on them, they open with no problem.
Same thing happens with Altavista.com, page loads just like it should, but images stay blank.
It's not the first time I have this, had the same problems under Leopard too. Already tried deleting cash, cookies and history.
Sometimes it's fixed for a while, but it always comes back.
I would really appreciate it if somebody would have a solution for this.

I have had this same problem periodically for a while with my iMac, both with Tiger & Snow Leopard. I never did get to the bottom of it on Tiger, but it went away when I changed DNS server settings from openDNS back to my ISPs - but now it's back again after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
I have changed my network settings to/from DHCP back to static IPs, restarted my modem/router, restarted my mac, tried other accounts on my iMac, reset Safari (cleared out cache, history etc etc), but nothing can persuade it to work.
I'm wondering if its a problem with firewall settings, but haven't had chance to investigate that yet.
My Macbook on the same network, running Leopard, does not have the problem.
Sorry I'm not much help, but at least it's reassurance that you're not the only one with the problem.

  • Google image search on safari

why i cant view a bigger image from google image and theres only 8 results for each search

    Hi Carolyn,
This seems to be a conundrum.  I tried your suggestions and no joy.  Earlier today we did everything else.  Too much for me to remember actually.  Now for the weird part.  Typing 'cat' search into the Google window will later show up in the Safari History but, 'dog' and 'boat' do not.  Again, whatever I type into the Google search on the top Safari Bar will show up in Safari History.  The searches go beautifully, just no history of the search results.  Doo Da, doo da.
This problem has been with me for some three months during which time I have done an Install from the DVD and numerous PRam zaps, running Disk Utilities, emptied the Safari cache plus removed all my website data and cleared the battery by shutting down and unplugging everything.  Why the Apple tech rep and I are having the same problem on different OS's (10.6.8 and Lion respectively) and yet my G4 running Tiger is not, must be a hint but I am too think to suss it out.
    Go figure, eh.

  • What happened to the scrolling picture google image search in iOS 7 Safari?

When I used google image search before I updated to iOS 7, I could just scroll through the pictures. Now it's more like a regular computer, and I have to click on a picture one at a time to enlarge, and then go back and view the others. Am I missing something? How do I get the easy scrolling image search back - or did Apple remove this feature for iOS 7?

Google's working on the Safari iOS 7 incompatibility with Google Images:

  • Google Images not working on iPhone safari (3GS, 5.1.1)

I have run into a small bit of trouble with my iPhone's Safari Browser. For some reason, Google Images is not allowing me to open images of go to the next page of images.
Example: I run "Lotus" (as in the automobile) into Google and click images. It shows the thumbnails of the sportscar, but when I click on any thumbnail, it does not open like it normally would. When I hold down onto the thumbnail, it gives me an option to save the image of copy it, not open it.
Also, when I go to the page over arrow to see the photos on page two, it does not move from page one no matter how many times I click it.
I have cleared the cache, cookies and history from the device, powered off and on the phone, switched between private browsing and back again and no change.
It had been working fine up until the update the other day.
Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?

It's not just you. A whole host of people, including me, started having this issue today.  I have a 3GS running 5.0.1.  I have been reading or the couple hours and it seems it's a cross platform issue, not an iPhone issue.  Seems to be something wrong with google mobile image search. Some are reporting success with switching from mobile to classic view in google.
Now I think we need to just wait on google to fix the issue.

  • Camera icon does not appear when use Google Image Search

    Hello,
I am working on a much older macbook pro (2006) running OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10.
Just the other day I reinstalled Safari, as some things appeared to not be working properly. However, there was nothing wrong with Google. SInce then, when I try to search by Google Image, the camera icon does not appear in the search bar. I have tried reinstalling Safari twice, but nothing changes. I have checked in Firefox and it shows up as expected.
I have cleared the cache, deleted cookies, and cleared browser history. None of these steps have produced any changes.
Also, I seem to have reverted to some earlier version of Google, since the search tools now appear on the top left, as show below.
Can you please assist me in sorting this out so that Safari and Google perform as expected.
    Thank you very much.
    Val

I posted that work around on the google forums and it actually came from the Apple forums from users 'Society Girl' and refined by 'spiza' from this thread.
    Google Reverted to Old Layout
I called a friend at a tech magazine and he *cough* unofficially* cough* said via contacts it was a very deliberate move by Google... nothing to do with their upgrades or a hack coincidentally not working as a by product with old browsers.
    oh boy...
'Google flushes out users of old browsers by serving up CLUNKY, AGED version of search'
'Ad giant: Yeah, we did that deliberately'
In a separate thread, as spotted by a Reg reader who brought this sorry affair to our attention, user MadFranko008 was able to show that even modern browsers - including the current version of Chrome - were apparently spitting out glitches on Apple Mac computers.
Google then appeared to have resolved the search "bug" spotted in Chrome.
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/08/31/google_search_browser_support/
    and on the BBC website...
Google 'discourages' users of old browsers
Google has started showing old versions of its search page to people using out-of-date versions of some web browsers.
The problem was most pronounced among those using variants of Safari 5.1 and Opera 12.
A Google message posted to the forum said the change was made to "encourage" people to upgrade their browser
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29012038
Google and Apple are not the best of friends...
I expect this will run a little longer

  • Safari 4 images all have red cast until mouse over?

I've searched fairly extensively for anyone else having this same problem, and I note a number of possibly related threads on the colour/color management in Safari, but this problem seems to be slightly different. Perhaps someone will tell me this is a feature, but I can't find it listed. I'm finding that on many pages, such as www.news.com.au, images (of any size) have a distinct orange or red cast until I pass my mouse over them. A smaller but possibly related problem occurs with text and especially links, which are sometimes a garish bright blue until my mouse rolls over them.
To fix the images requires only a mouse over, and seems almost instantaneous, but this is tedious, and the pages look really ugly. Does this happen on all pages? No, for instance I did a search for "Steve Jobs" on Google images and the results all look fine. Do I have a MBP and a second monitor (which has been mentioned in the other threads)? Absolutely, a 24" Apple LCD.
If I understand the color management issues, images don't suddenly correct themselves when you move the mouse over them, which is why I thought I'd post this to see if there is a fix, or if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
    Thanks for any replies.
    Ivan

And I'd like to report that although the red cast has gone away, it pales in comparison to the new problem, where images go monochrome/sepia, which I'm now experiencing. Moving the window over to the laptop screen and back to the second display seems to fix it, not exactly a great workaround. I hope someone fixes this bug soon, it's pretty nasty.

  • Unable to load google images properly with FF 24.0 on Android 4.1.2 on Samsung Tab 7.7.

the correct image is not being shown, and images are being overlaid when I select an image after a Google image search. I am running the latest version of Firefox for Android (v24.0) my Gt-P6800 Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. Is this a common fault/bug? I can't use FF for images as a result.

Hi, thank you for your reply, but this is one on the first things I tried. With further investigation, I am now experiencing the same problem with Opera mobile. However, I don't get the problem with the built in web browser or chrome. I am up to date with Android for my tablet, and I have the latest version of Firefox. This means that I am on the verge of dispensing with Firefox as it's virtually unusable for Google images.
