  • How do I make Safari open PDF's using installed Adobe Acrobat 7.1.0

I would like to force Safari 3.1.2 to open all PDF links using Adobe Acrobat 7.1.0. How do I accomplish this? I have no problem making Safari use the Adobe Reader, however, I would like to use the full Adobe Program so I can save and download interactive PDF forms I have filled out on the web. Using the Adobe reader, you can only download the form itself - all supplied information using the form's interactive features are lost when the filled in form is downloaded.

    Hello, Carolyn:
Thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately, it is not working for me. I have both Adobe Acrobat v. 7.1.0 and Acrobat Reader v. 9.0.0 running on my computer. In either program's preferences both programs are availabe when I choose the program to display PDF files in the browser (Safari). There is no problem setting Safari's PDF handling to the default value.
When I choose Acrobat Reader to be the program to display PDF files in the browser, Safari will indeed use Acrobat Reader. However, when I choose Adobe Acrobat v. 7.1.0, Safari does not use the Adobe Acrobat program to display the PDF file, rather the file is displayed by the PDF handling features built in to Safari. I have found no way to make Safari use the full version of Adobe Acrobat. PDF files residing on my computer opens without difficulty using my copy of Adobe Acrobat v. 7.1.0. Do you have any other ideas that would help solve this problem?

  • Mac mini won't install Adobe flash player

    Hi all!
I have had this newer version of my mac mini (OS X 10.6.8) for about 4-5 months now.  Never had any problems until this weekend when I was prompted to install the newer version of adobe flash player to view an interactive map.  I completed the installation, but it didn't work.  It states it was installed completely, but when I return to anything requiring flash player, it is still prompting me to install.  I tried to uninstall & reinstall, but didn't work. Tried all of their helpful hints, all with no success
I have a slight curveball - when i purchased this computer, it was setup with a logon (Logon2).  When apple guided me to transfer all of my info from my prev. mini to this one, my old logon came over (Logon1), therefore I have two logons.  When restarted or rebooted, it comes up with Logon2 and I just logoff and operate under Logon1 all the time since all of my info from prev computer is under that one.  Guess what?! - The flash player works under Logon2 - the one I never use.
I'm slightly confused, but I know someone here will be able to help me
    Thanks
    KRH

Funny thing is - I just redownloaded Adobe flashwith Firefox and it is working perfectly, but still not with Safari.

  • Internet Explorer 10 won't install Adobe Connect (latest) - what's wrong?

I have downloaded the latest plug-in for Adobe Connect and install it from the zip [ac_addin_win_392.zip]. I unzip that to a folder, then click on the [setup.exe] executable. The process executes successfully. When I open my add-ins folder for IE10, however, the plug-in is not shown. There is a website to test meeting connections https://na1cps.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm - which says I do not have Adobe Connect installed. What is going on? I've done this several times now with no success. I have a meeting in a matter of days that is really vital to attend but this won't work!

    Hi az_rigtig,
After installation of latest add-in can you check and confirm if installed files(adobeconnectaddin.exe /digest.s) are present in you installation directory.
    By Default the instalation directory is : C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com\bin or %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com\bin
Also make sure no config (mms.cfg) present in below locations : a) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash b) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (for 64 biut machines)
Let me know if this solves the purpose .
    Thanks

  • Safari 5.1 won't install

I’ve tried over and over and over to update Safari 5.05 to 5.1.  When my Mac should restart, it just stalls on the log-in window. I manually restart, but it makes no difference. I’ve turned off the extensions to see if that was the hang-up, but it didn’t make any difference. I’m able to update other software such as iTunes and Remote Desktop. I have not updated to Lion, but OS is up-to-date — 10.6.8.
My Mac at work (identical to my home Mac) has accepted the Safari update with no problem whatsoever.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you!

I downloaded the Developer preview of Safari 4 and it stuffed up some of my Widgets. Tried to re install 3.1.1 from the Apple site to see if the problem was Safari 4. The installer crashed. Realised I had not uninstalled 4 from HD. Did this and restarted. Tried to install the 3.1.1 version again and all of my drives were unavailable from the installler and as with the others here "will not install on this OS 10.5.2. required and I DO have 10.5.3. I then trashed all of Safari that I could find with Spotlight, and got a copy of 3.0.4 from and old backup and dragged it into the Apps folder on my startup drive.
I am using it now. Tried to update it to 3.1.1 but it still says I dont have the correct OS.
Repaired permissions and all of the usual voodoo but nothing has worked.

  • Safari 4.03 won't install -does not recognize 10.6 was installed

I installed Snow Leopard and then tried to update Safari. The install utility does not recognize I installed 10.6. The error message: "Safari can't be installed on this disk. This update requires Mac OS 10.5.8 or newer".

    Hi,
You need to install Safari from the SL disk.
Insert the Snow Leopard install disk. Open the Optional Installs folder, then open Optional Installs.mpkg
An Installer will start... click Continue. When you get to the Installation Type in the window on the right you will see: Applications. Click the Disclosure triangle so it faces down. Select the apps you want to install and click Continue.
After any installations, repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
    Safari runs in 32-bit mode.

  • Leopard won't install Adobe CS2 or Acrobat 7.0 standard from my G4

i just bought a new mac book and took it to the apple store to transfer my hardrive from my G4 to my new mac book. all worked fine except Adobe CS2 and Acrobat 7.0 standard. we tried to re-install the disks but the new computer just gave us errors such as 'serial number problems (which i checked and they are right) and saying it wasn't supported??? Neither the Apple store or Adobe support has been able to help.

Download this: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70. When the download is finsiched double-click on the .dmg file that you should find either on your Desktop or in your Downloads folder. The disc image will mount on the Desktop. Double-click on the disc's icon. Double-click on the installer you find inside the disc image. This will install Flash.

  • Mac Pro, won't install Adobe Reader 11.04 any help out there

After downloading on my Mac Pro, Adobe 11.04 I can't open it.  And my Mac isn't indicating the problem? Anybody got ideas?

I am having the same problem with my HPT 4321.  After upgrade, wont boot.  Shows up everyone as bootable disk (even when holding option at startup) but Mac will not boot off it.  I installed a fresh 10.6.8 copy onto a usb drive and HPT drivers work so might just be something to do with the main drive being bootable.  To complicate things, the Snow Leopard DVD doesn't have the drivers to see the array so cannot use it for troubleshooting.  It will not start in safe mode. Downloaded combo updater to try and re-update but it doesn't let you install it on another drive.  HPT driver installer doesn't allow you to install on another drive so also can't re-install driver.  Only choice seems to be install OS on new disk and recreate everything from scratch, then SuperDuper back to HPT drives and hope that it was a corruption during the update but not sure that it will boot even after all that work.
Anyone have a working computer with 10.6.8 and booting off a Highpoint RAID card?

  • Computer won't install adobe reader

I deinstalled adobe reader because I constantly received error messages when the program tried to update.
When I now try to download and install - it will go through all the steps including asking me if I give permission for the program to be installed
    but then nothing else happens.
    No installation - nothing.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
    Thanks

  • Installing Adobe Air 3.9.0.1380

My computer won't install Adobe Air 3.9.0.  At one point, it wouldn't uninstall Adobe Air version 1 and I had to purge the registry as well as its folder on the 'C' drive before I could get rid of it.  But every attempt at installing the latest version throws up an error message suggesting the install might not be allowed by the administrator.  I am the administrator, and I have no trouble with any other program and there are no restrictions set that I know of.  Can anyone please help me find a solution to this problem?

right click the installation file and click 'run as administrator'.

  • Browser out of date and can't install Adobe Flash Player

My browser is out of date according to everything I am visiting.  I can't post pictures on twitter, some of the videos I watch have blocked plug-ins, and I can't install adobe flash player.  My computer is a MacBook Pro 10.6.4, and I would like to keep Safari.  Can someone direct me to where I get the newest version of Safari and why I cannot install Adobe Flash Player.  I have installed, uninstalled, and done everything I know to do to get this problem resolved.  Next step is take it to the Apple store as I am not a tech person.  Thanks for any assistance.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Upgrade further:
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
