Safari hangs: not enough program memory, while 90G HD and 4G ram, OS re-installed, removed files etc. (mac book pro, leopard)

Safari hangs direct after starting up. Rainbow bol rotates around one hour after which a message is shown: "not enough program memory"
More than 90G free on HD, even removed more files and installed OS and programs again. Nothing helps.

SIG, thanks for your reaction. After reading my question again I understand it was not clear.
The reason I mentioned the 90G free HD space was the information I found on internet about my problem in which it was assumed there was not enough RAM memory and the processor uses the HD for SWAP files?
In any way my problem is still there and I like to add some information:
MACBookPro OSX 10.6.7, 2.4 GHz duo, 4GB DDR3 RAM, L2 cache 3MB, 250 GB HD (90 GB free).
What I have done untill now:
Re-install OSX plus programs
Reboot in safe mode (cold start with shift C pressed)
A number of reports generated after a forced Safari stop were send to Apple. (by the way what are they doing with these? besides not helping me?).
Just today I learned where to find the Safari cache file's which I will empty when I am back from work tonight.
I hope, with this additional information you have some more suggestions. In any way I will come back with the result of emptying the Safari cache.

Is there a pattern to the time of day or other detail that may be
traced back to a OS X system cause of this odd phenomenon?
Are there any copies of system files on any of the attached USB
external drives? Any libraries, such as iTunes, iPhoto, etc?
Once the drives are indexed by Spotlight, are their permissions
ignored by the OS X? Content, if neutral, should not affect the
wake or sleep cycle; especially if they're ignored by the OS X.
Could there be a bad cable or other component? If so that would
be a difficult process of elimination to detect it. Usually replacing
most suspect components in the USB stream (external to Macs)
is a rote way to mechanically test that idea; & not 100% sure.
Does the equipment all have a good ground to the utility or house
electrical field? An intermittent ground may affect more than sleep.
Hard to say at this point. Maybe a late-night talk radio guru on
remote viewing could peer into your situation and sleuth it out?
Sorry to have run out of ideas, but the process must be electrical
& mechanical to some extent. - Or perhaps odd software inspired.
Do you have any phone-home spyware items inside, just jumping
at the chance to spill your information? Little Snitch may help.
PS: Perhaps the computer needs to go into Apple & have a genius
or product specialist at AASP test the unit thoroughly... BlueTooth?

Can't iconvert SD600 files on mac book pro, apparently not compatiable. What software can i download that will transcode the files so i can log

I have the SD files on my mac book pro hardrive but they are not compatiable and i cannot view them. I want to edit the clips in FInal Cut Pro. I think i need to downloadd some software which will transcode the files and then i can import into Final Cut Pro? Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Acorrding to the technical specs, it shoots mpeg4/h.264... However, I see other places mention it is MTS...
Do you still have the original file structure intact? Or do you have just individual movie files? whats the extension? .MTS, .MPEG4, MOV?
If MTS and you no longer have the original file sturcute intact, you need to use Clipwrap, if you do have the original files structure, you may be able to import using Log and Transfer....

AirPlay Mirroring requires an Early 2011 or newer MacBook Pro, and OS X Mountain Lion. If you have a compatible Mac, you have two possibilities:
1. Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion. Open the App Store and purchase it. Make a backup of your data before upgrading and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
2. Use AirParrot to mirror the MacBook onto the Apple TV > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options will work. If your computer isn't supported, the only way to mirror the MacBook is by using AirParrot

IMovie 10.02 does not have program memory while exporting movie

Hi there,
I would appreciate any help to learn what iMovie does while exporting a movie I just made.
I am using the latest iMovie under OS Maverick and I have just created a project, added soundtracks and wanted to export the project
into a movie. The project is 31 minutes long and trying to export it as a file in HD quality, iTunes breakes off after a while and shows
the error message, that my system does not have any program memory anymore and that I have to shut down all used programs in order to
avoid problems with my computer.
Did anybody have had this kind of problem before? With the previous version, I made so many movies, partly almost an hour long and never had
any trouble in doing so. I could export as HD movie or into Quick Time but now the game has changed and I do not know exactly what I did wrong.
Why would there be not enough recources even though I upgraded my RAM to 8 GB.

I also walked the forums about this and no solution. I contacted yesterday assitance call and the person does not see more where the problem is. I tried to repair the disk and permissions thereof, restart in safe mode and reinstall iMovie 10 but to no avail. He even advised me to reinstall Maverick or as you say, to use the old version of iMovie 9. I hope Apple will soon respond to this issue and provide an update because it is not normal at all.

I put my mac pro to share with my mac desktop. Iphoto was upgraded from 8.2.1 and I can no longer access iphoto on the mac book pro. I have tried library manager but that does not work. Any suggestions?

when you opened the shared library with the newer version of iPhoto (iPhoto '11) you were given a warning that your library would be converted and could not be used by older versions - you clicked ok to go ahead - there is no updo available - either upgrade to iphoto '11 of the MBP or load your backup of the iPhoto '09 library on it - older versiopns of i{Photo can not read newer libraries

Installing cs5 onto a mac book pro that does not take cd rom.. HELP!

Hello, I am facing a problem, that if someone could help me with, I would be very grateful. Yesterday, I chatted with a representative who sent me a link where I can download my old cs5 on my new macbook pro. However, it only downloaded, when I got to the installing part, it a pop up said that "install" can't be opened. You should eject the disk image. "install" is on the disk image" Designstandard.. I would appreciate someones help with this.

It's still possible there's a CD already inside (I'm not saying I don't believe you, rather that your MBP may be telling fibs). To be sure, try these steps:
1. Launch Disk Utility from the Utilities folder in Applications. See if a disk is listed under the SuperDrive in the left hand column. If so, eject it using the eject icon.
2. Tell the MBP to boot from the CD duing startup. Do this by turning the MBP (from being fully switched off, not whilst waking from sleep) on whilst holding down C. If there is a disk inside and it's not bootable, it should pop out (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1533).
If these steps confirm no disk is already in there, I'd suggest contacting Apple for warranty-based help. You say in your thread title that you have a 2011 model, so you should be covered.

OS X 10.9.4 is the current release of the operating system. Older versions are not available from the app store. Does your system meet the requirements for OS X 10.9?

Mac Book Pro Shuts Off While trying to Boot. Also will not boot in Safemode. any advise?

When computer is booting. The blue screen starts to appear before going to my desktop... then it just shuts down. has anyone ever run into a problem like this. i took it to the apple store and they suggested TOP TIER repair which wouldbe almost the same cost as a new mac book and could not guarantee the techs would even attempt to save my data. my other option was to just buy a NEW MAC BOOK and they could possibly fire wire from the hard drive of the old mac book to the new one.
is there an easier and less expensive fix than this.

Mac book pro does not support more than 1 firewire

I had trouble saving my projects to external hard drive. I met with a Pro at the apple store. Claim that while using a firewire to import a project...brand new Mac Book pro cannot support 2 firewires at a time. An error comes up. So I simply used a USB to my external hard drive. was told this is not recommended but what is alternative?...Is it true I cannot use 2 firewires at once?

I am reading between the lines, but it sounds like you want to connect a camcorder and an external firewire hard drive to your MacBook Pro at the same time ... and capture your video in FCE using the external hard drive as your capture scratch disk. Is this correct?
This can be done, and is done by many users, however SOME camcorders and SOME external firewire hard drives do not work very well together.
What make/model camcorder do you have, what make/model external hard drive(s) do you have?

Why not optimus technology on the new mac book pro notebooks ?

Hello why there is no optimus technology in the mac book notebooks? I never had a mac and i am interesting to buy a 17'inch mac book pro, after my excitement on the 2011 model, i thought to my self why do they need to have a dedicated memory for graphics and not for ex. nvidia optimus? I have no idea about mac's, but anyways since i thought i am going to use it for my studies i do need energy efficient notebook, so why apple does not support a new technology ?
