Safari has frozen. And it won't let me restart! What to do?

Safari froze (i.e. it won't let me do anything on the page but the window will still move around on the screen if I click on it). I tried to close it. When I did a notification popped up that says are you sure becuase multiple windows are up, per the usual. i tried to click Close but nothing has happened. It has been days! I tried to restart or shut down and a notification comes up that says the action was blocked by safari becuase it is still open (I yell "I CAN"T CLOSE IT!"). Please Help!!!
Oh and it is not giving me the Force Quit option when I right click Safari. It still just says quit, etc. Clicking quit again doesn't do anything.

Internet pop-up has frozen Safari despite powering down.

I clicked on an internet site for breast cancer awareness month and another screen almost immediately poped up on my other monitor with a pop-up inside of it to watch a video. No "x" anywhere on the pop-up and Safari is frozen. Did a force quit a couple of times with no luck, so powered down for 10 minutes. Reopened Safari and there it was again, the web site, additional screen on my other monitor with pop-up. Did a force quit and opened FireFox; that's where I'm at now. How do I get rid of the pop-up so that I can use Safari again?

Quit the application. Force quit if necessary.
Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the bad page from reloading automatically. Optionally, from the menu bar, select

to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

Occasionally, a browser window may pop up with a scam message. Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus, and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. Most of these scammers, if you actually call the number, will ask you to install software giving them remote control over your computer. Do not do this either. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Though you will probably have to quit Safari, you can first try closing the tab by pressing Command + W. Sometimes, however, these pop-ups will not go away by attempting to close the tab, nor by clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.
None of this Worked!
If pressing Command + W does not work, and force quitting Safari and restarting the application with the Shift key held down does not get rid of the pop-up you will have to reset Safari. Normally, this can be done by launching Safari, then in the menu bar, going to Safari > Reset Safari. However, most pop-ups of this variety will block access to many of the drop-down menus in the menu bar. You will need to locate a file on the computer and move it to the trash. Make sure you quit Safari first (force quit if necessary).
To start, open Finder. The press Command + Shift + G, or in the menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder. Type the following file path:
~/Library/Preferences
Look for a file named com.apple.Safari.plist, and drag it to the trash. Then restart your Mac. After it reboots, try launching Safari. A new preferences file should have been automatically created, so no more action is required on your part, and the pop-up should now be gone.

Frozen ipad2! My apps folders page has frozen, what can I do?

My apps folder page has frozen. I can select from the other pages and get on the Internet from the same page, but can't select any folders. Any ideas?!

Do you mean in Safari ? If so try clearing its cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Does reseting an Ipad numerous times damage it? Lately some strange things are going on with my iPad 4th gen like it will freeze in landscape mode or when you try to type in your password, you cannot click on the retangle to get the keyboard to appear. I think one of the apps my husband was using was causing the landscape mode freeze. I have since deleted the app and told him to use Safari. It was a news app. But, I have no idea what is going on with the password/keyboard thing!! Maybe dirt on the screen?
Anyway, I have down the "power down" (meaning I have not ignored the off slider and turned it off) does any damage to the iPad? We have had it for a few years and do not want to replace it, yet. It is the last generation before the iPad airs so it is still relatively new.

My favorite browser Safari (5.1.5 ) has stopped working. Yes I know is on a PC. But is been very good to me for a long time, untill about two months ago. I keep getting a pop up message saying "Safari has stopped working" I will close the pop up message and continue working but within a few minute, the message will pop up again. The browser opens up fast as always and runs fine but the message is a pain and annoying. I'm running Firefox now , but I want my Safari back . Please help.

I generated the problem report similar to the above screen shot " by way of IE 9 " but will not let me copy and paste the contents as a screen shot in reply to your post here . Copy to clipboard did not work either. I might be doing something wrong. Oh well.
By the way , the only difference is- The Problem Event Name of mine is not BEX. but rather : APPCRASH. Fault Module Name : JavaScriptCore.dll. Fault Module Version: 7534.55.2.1. Since updating my iPad 2 to ios8, it safari has been slow and crashing and some of the apps acting wierd. The password app doesn't work at all so had to find another way of retrieving all my passwords. Very very dissapointing

Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.

Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.

I was working on my eMac last night when all of a sudden Safari shut down. I tried to open it again and I kept getting the above error message.
At first, I thought this was no big deal, as I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox. However, it seems that whatever error caused this corruption in Safari has also affected my MSN Messenger, and a few other internet related Apps.
I don't know if any of you have come across this problem before, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could email me your suggestions to fixing this problem.
I called Apple support, and the lady suggest looking for a way to "archive and install preserving" so that I don't lose any of my important files. I'm sure that this might fix my problem as well.
Please let me know if you have a solution for me!!

Doing an Archive and Install because Safari unexpectedly quit is roughly akin to using several sticks of dynamite to take out a housefly in the kitchen. How much RAM does your Mac have, and how long had Safari been running continuously before the quit? Safari does have a known memory leak problem (the Safari 3 beta may have fixed that; too soon to tell for sure); if you have a minimal amount of RAM (256 MB or less), run multiple applications simultaneously, and leave Safari running for several hours, you can expect Safari to bog down. If you then try to load some types of web page constructs, the unexpectedly quit message isn't quite so unexpected. (Quitting and relaunching Safari every few hours is a viable workaround; in sever cases you may need to restart the computer as well.)
How were other Internet apps affected? Slowdowns, unable to connect, unable to find sites, or what? What version of MSN Messenger are you using? (MSN Messenger isn't known for being overly robust in the first place.) If a number of online utilities all begin to act strange at the same time, my first suspect would be the local network and the ISP. Is the problem still persistent after restarting the computer and after several hours (to allow the ISP to fix any glitches on their end)?
If Safari continues to misbehave, launch Safari and before going to any website, try going to the Safari menu and select the commands to reset Safari and clear cache, then restart Safari and see it that helps. If you have Safari set to open going to a homepage rather than opening a blank page, first move /Users/ [your_username]/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.Safari.plist to the Desktop before launching Safari to reset it and clear its caches. If Safari then works, you can quit it and try moving you previous preferences back; if Safari begins acting up again, trash the old preferences and re-enter your desired settings in a newly-created preferences file.
