Safari has gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on the web when safari suddenley closed down,now it has disapeared from the tool bar and applications ? Where can i download it from,i have tried downloading a few times from apple but it will not open ?

By, the "toolbar" I guess you mean the Dock?
Applications do not simply self-destruct or self-delete so it may have (somehow) been moved if you are sure it is not in the Applications folder (its proper location).
Try a Spotlight (or Finder) search. Finder may actually be simpler as you can specify that you are searching for an application.
As to downloading, that does not seem to be available for download, so you would have to extract it from the installation disk (then go for any updates). Use a utility like Pacifist (available via Versiontracker that will do this task.
However, if somehow this has been lost, there may be some underlying problems and I would suggest a check of the system and a repair of the disk, before going much further.

Safari has gone very slow

Hi there
I have an iPod touch and have found that safari has gone really slow. It takes ages to load the page and zoom in and out also scrolling up and down. It al started when I let my kids aged 11 and 9 used it. They where not as careful as me when using it but I was supervising and they did not drop it or anything. I have rebooted it then reset it to factory settings in iTunes. I have taken off the apps that they put on there but it made no difference. It has been fine since ios 4 update came out so it had nothing to do with that. I always thought that safari was quite quick but now its unusable on some sites, manly sites with moving images. It is like there is not enough ram any more. I know its not the modem as the two computers that i have are just the same, pretty good and there both using safari. Its strange as my mobile phone with android did the same thing about 6 months ago and nether improved. The phone does it on any wifi and mobile network, so again it cant be the modem. Is there any thing I can do with the ipod to speed safari up, or is that it I cant use safari any more and use opera instead?

I now its not the network as its fine with everything else. Also I have already tried restoring the ipod with itunes and that didn't make any difference. I have now reset it like you said but that didn't work. Not sure what to do now maybe safari just want work like it use to. I forgot to say it is a second gen ipod touch so it is quite old now.
Any more help I would be very thankful for.

Safari has gone after 4.2 to 4.3 update

After the las update to get IOS 4.3, ther is a big hole in the bottom task bar. I need some minutes guess what was missing, I'm so used to seen this icons that I don't remember what they do.
Looking on iPhone pubs I've seen that Safari has disapeared. I tried an other sync that is very very very very long, because of optimisation of 1616 photos, this was not done yesterday ? Now iTunes is copying 1609 photos from Mac to iPhone !
I think that something was missed yesterday after the update, perhaps why Safari has disapeared.
In fact sync takes more than 40 minutes today, yesterday, it takes only 15 minutes.
After this new sync, Safari is not on my screen.
What can I do ?

Safari has gone wonky.

Safari won't open many websites, including Gmail and Yahoo. All I get is a white screen with no error message. I have emptied the cache, restarted Safari, etc. This started the day before yesterday. Suggestions?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Browsing in Safari has gone slow, Chrome 5 is super fast, how do I fix it?

Hi everyone,
I've been experiencing slow browsing speeds in Safari for some time now, and I've always thought that it was my ISP. Eventually I got used to it and I stopped worrying about it. Today I downloaded Chrome 5 out of curiosity and I was blown away! I mean, this thing is so instant on almost every page! Then I remembered that Safari used to be somewhat like that some long time ago...
So what on earth is going on, how do I fix it? I don't want to have to rely on Chrome because that doesn't fix iTunes, which is equally slow when browsing the iTunes store. When I mean slow, I don't mean that it is unusable like some other people have reported. It's maybe x5 times slower than Chrome. I.e., pages don't just appear instantly, but I can instead see the individual images and text that comprise them taking their time to load. Some benchmarking in the developer tools shows that the delay is attributed to both longer latency times per resource, and at times actual loading times too. Benchmarking a complex page reveals that it needs 1.2sec in Chrome 5, and almost 5sec in Safari 5 on my computer. So there is certainly something weird going on there.
I have tried a few things that have been suggested to others, but none worked. Also, the DNS in my preferences points to the router within my intranet, not to some bizarre external site (i.e., 192.168.0.1). I am connected to the router with a cable. The problem first appeared long time ago when I was working on a MacBook Pro. The problem persist till today on my iMac 27", which came fresh with OS X 10.6.3 - I did use the migration wizard though to transfer all my stuff from my Mac Book Pro to the new iMac. I can verify that the problem persists even with Safari 5, without any plugins added to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't installed any plugins as far as I can remember. I tried looking for menu "HOME > Library > Plugins" in Safari, but could not locate it. Perhaps it is a path in the file system? In that case, I don't have a Plugins subfolder (i.e., I only have <home folder>/Library/).
A also just tried OpenDNS out of curiosity, and there was no improvement. Chrome however became just slightly slower. Also, I would like to alert other members of the forum that may read this thread, that openDNS makes money by selling their browsing preferences to advertising agencies (refer to their small print for more details). I also tried Google's similar service (http://www.chromeplugins.org/google/chrome-talk/google-dns-8877.html) which is supposed to respect privacy (again, according to their terms and conditions), however that still did not improve the situation. Again, Chrome was just slightly slower. At the least, I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that my ISP offers really fast DNS resolution

I get weird layout, colours change etc etc. I tried deleting Safari and reinstalling but that did not work

Safari has gone away. Forever?

Ok, so I was having issues with my safari and I deleted it all. Now I am trying to reinstall safari from my disc and nothing happens. The download completes successfully but safari does not appear anywhere on the computer. Anywhere! I don't know what to do.
I am on my iPad, I have no way to get on a browser, safari was my only one.

Assuming you're on 10.5.8 and that the version you trashed was 5.0.2 -
this command in terminal will download the correct Safari install package to your Home folder
curl -O http://appldnld.apple.com/Safari5/061-8789.20100907.Pre3E/Safari5.0.2Leopard.dmg
You need to open Terminal from Applications/Utilities/ and paste the above in there, then press enter.
It'll take a while, you'll see scary-looking code that just tells you how the download's going, and when it's done - you'll find the install pkg in the Home folder of your account.
Safari crashed before, so of course it may again - if so, you can get firefox the same way.

A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Safari Has Gone Strange On Me

Hi All,
Before we start i would just like to say that i have only had my Macbook Pro for around 4 weeks and im very new to the apple side of things.
Im getting used to things slowly but non the less im getting there.
I have now came across a few problems and im now unsure how to fix them of sort them out.
Below you will see what version of software i am running and it was today (Fri 27th July) that i done an update and since then a few things have happened.
I have now lost the small google search tab on the top right of the address bar
Also when i open up my tabs they are taking up the length of the whole window and i now dont know why.
When i now log into any forums or websites that i use i have a window popping up asking if i want to safe usernames & passwords.
What have i done and how can i get all of this back to normal? As i say it was all fine untill there was a software update today.

Safari 6 has changed those things as you discribed.
The Google and address bars are merged. You can type phases questions and URLs in the same bar now.
Single tab fills bar (Same as ios version - I don't like this)
RSS reader removed - They want you to use the READER button which strips background images rather than RSS
The new browser automatically asks to save passwords to built in key chain
Once installed their is no easy way back to 5.1 without a reinstall.

Safari has gone to the right

I got up this morning turned on my iMac 21", started Mail (no prob), opened Numbers (no prob), clicked Safari, it bounced once and nothing. Went to the top and clicked on new window and I could see it animate off to the right side of the screen. Clicked on Preferences, nothing I could tell happened. I had to open FireFox to get here. I went to my Bar at the bottom and under Safari I clicked Show All Windows and the screen grows dark but nothing shows up on my screen. Any thoughts?

I found it. I placed my mouse to the extream right of my screen and the "move arrow" apeared and I was able to drag the Safari screen back to my desk top.

My ipad 2 internet connection has gone slow

i have an ipad 2 running IOS5.1.1
first my safari has gone so slow that it doesnt even open the page unless i refresh a couple of times
then i went to the app store and also the facebook app they both were super slow or they wont even load
i thought maybee it my connection but i tried on both wifi and 3g its the same
also i tried my iphone 4 on the same wifi connection it was normal , and tried my friends ipad 2 also and it was normal too
the only thing thats seems to work fine is the google chrome browser .. it loaded the page within 2 to 3 seconds !!!!
i tried doing a reset with the home and the power button twice ... still no luck
cleared the history and the cache and the cookies on safari ... didnt do any good
is there anything i can do other than restoring the ipad
i have i cloud back up on but because connecting to the internet is messed up i cant find out when is my last back up and i dont want to loose anything

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
Try This - Renew IP Address:
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Can you still access your Bookmarks at the top of the Safari screen? If so, select it and choose History. Then click Clear History at the top of the History window.
If that does not help, double-click the Home button. A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen. Scroll across and find Safari. Press and hold on it until it starts to wiggle. Then click on the red minus sign to remove it from the list. Click the Home button to stop the wiggling and again to return to the Home screen. Now see if Safari is working any better.
If still no improvement, try resetting (rebooting) the iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

Safari display has gone nuts

Yesterday my Safari display has gone nuts. Just displays a long list of items on the website....no graphics and the links don't work. Every site is the same.
I did a restart.....I did a shutdown....still the same.
Firefox works fine.
I tried to find a download to reinstall Safari but no luck.
How can I get Safari working again?

Well, I only have one extension: AdBlock. I disable that and now it works fine...everything is loading.
But it used to work fine with adblock enabled. What has changed?
Without Adblock I find Safari difficult to use.

My ipad has died! I was deletng some emails when the email, safari, settings all went dead. Now i can't turn it on. it is charged but i have plugged it in and again have no symbol to say it's charging. What has gone wrong?
