Safari has stopped allowing access to sites that require login/password?

Why is Safari preventing me entering sites that require a "login/passowrd"?
Firefox has no such problem (though it was similar for some sites until clearing the cache)
No similar process for Safari...?

"Block cookies and other website data"="Always"
Change that to "Third parties and advertisers."

• Since clearing chase, cookies and history I can NOT access my regular sites that require a password. I know these sites work with my passwaord becuse I've visited them on my other computer(s).

I was having difficulty accessing usual sites like LinkedIn.com, FaceBook.com, OKCupid.com that require a password. At one attempt to log on it was suggested that I clear all cashe, history, and cookies and try again. That made matters worse. I decided to DELETE Fire Fox 3.6.15 version and when I went to Mozilla dot com I saw this 4.0 version. I installed it and I am still having the same problems. My usual sites do not recognize my passwords. I can access these sites on other computers, just not mine. Yes, I tried using other browsers to no avail. I need HELP fast!

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

The popup is caused by spyware or alien extensions on your browser. Here's a guide I found that helps remove the popup - [http://www.fixnowsupport.com/3/post/2013/06/how-to-fix-the-authentication-required-popup-message-in-firefox.html Remove Authentication Required Popup in Firefox]
The worst part is the popup appears continuously even after closing it several times.

• Safari Mac can't access web site that Windows can

None of my Macs can access the site http://cards.123greetings.com . I get Can't Find Server messages in both Safari and Firefox. (Clearing caches doesn't help)
cards.123greetings.com is part of a large free card site that did a major upgrade in October. It still renders correctly on a PC running Windows XP Home which runs on the same network as the Macs, so it's not an isp problem.
Since both Macs (G4 iBook running 10.3, MacBook running 10.4) have the same Can't Find Server problem with both Safari and Firefox, it appears that some setting in the Macs themselves is causing this.
Any help or insight would really be appreciated - Thanks!

A big Thank You to Mulder for letting me know that you can access the site (with Mac Safari I presume) - That's good news.
The bad news: I still can't access the site.
The problem affects two separate computers and four browers. Taking your advice, I repaired permissions and logged in as a new account on both machines. Unfortunately that didn't work.
I next tried accessing the site on the MacBook through Parallels running Windows XP Home. The site came up fine using Internet Explorer.
Then I realized that Parallels operates with a different ip address. So I went back on the Mac using a proxy, and the site came right up.
It now seems that the ip addresses of both computers are being blocked at some level. I want to thank Mulder for replying and virtually ruling out that it might be a Safari issue. I'm now "off topic" and will no longer post in this section. But I'm also over my head... If anyone has advice about how to proceed now, I'd truly appreciate it.
Thanks!

• Safari has stopped allowing me to enter full screen mode. Why?

Safari will not allow me to enter full screen mode. This is a new occurrence as it has always worked before. When I either click on the two arrows on the top right of the browser or go to View > Enter Full Screen the browser makes a sound and remains the same. How do I fix this problem? And why would this have happened in the first place? Thank you.

First try resetting Safari by clicking "Safari", then "Reset Safari..." in third section. Make sure everything is checked except for saved passwords, auto fill or history/top sites for they are unnecessary. If this doesn't work, try emptying the cache by clicking "Safari", "Empty Cache...", then click ok.

Fingers crossed, your Windows 7 will have been recording some additional information about those.
First, open your Action Center and expand "Maintenance". Click "View reliability history":
Once the reliability report has been generated, look for Critical events for Safari generated at the time of the "Safari has stopped working" messages. Doubleclick the name Safari in the critical events. (Don't click View solution.) Here's a screenshot showing what to doubleclick:
You should see something that looks like the following screenshot:

• Safari Does Not Allow Access to Web Sites With Wildcard X.509 Certificates

I'm really getting irritated with the Safari browser in OSX Mavericks. One of the more irritating features involves the inability to access web sites that use improperly constructed wildcard X509 certificates. By improperly constructed, I mean that the X.509 certificate does not contain the host name of the system being accessed in the Subject Alternate Name list.
Earlier versions of Safari would, at least, allow me to examine the X.509 certificate and determine whether I wanted to proceed with the connection. The current version of Safari doesn't provide that option. It simply displays a screen stating that it can't establish a secure connection to the web site. If you actually have a need to access the web site, you need to use a web browser like Firefox.
What's really irritating about this is that Safari had improved to the point where it was reliable enough to be used as the default browser.
Is there a Safari.plist setting that will allow me to change the behavior of Safari when it encounters an improperly constructed X.509 certificate and provide me the opportunity to examine the certificate to decide whether to proceed or not?

Hi
Have a look in your Networks panel in System Preferences. Click on the Advanced button, then Proxies. There may be an errant proxy present blocking the site load.

Safari has stopped opening certain webpages and says can't connect to server... This started 3 months ago with FB and now randomly with another site... all other sites are fine.. Help?
I've tried resetting safari, deleting all webpage data and setting time/date to automatic, but no such luck.
The message that comes up is: "Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server 'Facebook' "
I'd be genuinely impressed if anyone were to actually work out what was wrong.

Hi ..
Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
