Safari has trouble loading

When I click on the icon for Safari, it takes forever to load and sometimes doesn't load at all. It just bounces in the dock and then will even stop bouncing all together without opening at all. Ichat does this to me too, where it will bounce for a while, stop boucing, and then open a minute later. What can I do about this?

Linc,
Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I read that link and it was all new to me, but I think I understood it. AT&T is my internet provider and I Googled AT&T DNS servers and was taken to a link that provide me with a different series of numbers or IP address. I clicked the plus sign and added them into the list. I think it works better now. I hope I didn't do anyhting that will mess things up. I wrote done the DNS numbers that were there and made sure to put them back in. Anyhow, thank you again.

  • My iMac has trouble loading fonts (and speakers) on startup.

Some mornings my brand new work iMac (running 10.7.2) has trouble loading fonts on startup. Sometimes the speakers don't appear to be connected/active either. Both problems go away for the day once I've restarted the computer once or twice. Any ideas on why this is?

  • Safari has stopped loading images

Ok so I seriously need some help quickly here, I've been on my laptop all day and it's been fine but since about an hour ago (although I didn't know the extent of it until just now after trying a few different webpages) Safari has just stopped loading any images whatsoever. I thought it may have just been a Youtube glitch, where I first saw it, when the thumbnails weren't loading but the videos were working fine but now I've noticed that no webpage is loading any images at all, no logos, no photos, no buttons in some cases which must be clickable images I guess. I've tried the good old 'quit and reopen it and hope it's fixed itself' method and tried restarting my entire Macbook (a mid-2011 Macbook Air if it makes any difference) but neither has fixed it. Has something been disabled/enabled somehow that I'm not aware of or what?
To note too I also updated Safari yesterday to 6.1.5, along with iTunes and some security settings too I think when the system update popped up if that may have effected it somehow although it's been working fine all day up until now. I seriously need some help asap!

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • My Macbook Pro has trouble loading websites in Safari and Firefox.  I have already erased history. Why can this be? And what can I do about it?

I have been having trouble.  Some websites I have accessed before are not loading correctly.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't load. Sometimes they load, but you only see a list of links.  I am somewhat confused because I have never had any problems with my Macs before.  Why could this be? What can I do about it?
    Thank you.

A couple of weeks ago safari stopped loading Facebook but it loads in Firefox and as guest user in Safari. It has now stopped loading Ebay UK but as with Facebook it loads as a guest. This only happens, so far with my macbook, iPad and iPhone are ok.

Go step by step by step and test.
    1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
        Restart the computer.
        Start up in Safe Mode.
        http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204
    2. Delete Caches.db
Close all windows and quit all applications.
Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
        Select "Library" from the dropdown.
        Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
        Close windows and relaunch Safari.
    3. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    4. Delete Cookies
Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Click “Details” button.

  • Newbie has Trouble Loading Flash Player

    Hello everybody,
I have the WRT54G2 sending a signal from my Windows XP PC to a computer in the other room (Win 2000) that is connected to the flat screen TV.  The internet comes up fine but I can't watch any movies on Hulu because there is no Adobe flash player and it won't load.
I tried everything to troubleshoot the Adobe including redoing the permissions, trying Flash version 9, and other advice on the Adobe site.  Even tried loading it from a thumb drive.
So I think there may be some setting on the router or whatever that is preventing the Adobe Flash Player from loading.
Any help much appreciated since this is why I bought the router.  Thank you,
    Willydo, Tucson Arizona

    TMD and Freebelle,
Yes, when I try to load the FlashPlayer, there is an example screen that pops up and says I may have to click on the "yellow bar along the top of the page" to allow the player to load but there is no yellow bar or similar to click on.
The Adobe site does talk about setting the security to Medium OR to go in and set the Active X files to ask to load each time.  I tried doing it both ways but still get an error message.
One thing that is curious is that Adobe has a page you can go to that looks at your computer and tells what type of Flash Player is installed.  When I go to that page, it says I have version 10. xx.xx.  But that is on the wired computer that is sending the signal NOT the one receiving the signal.  I do need a Flash on BOTH computers (I think).  Hulu works on the main computer, but on the other computer, the film titles etc. show up, but they won't play.
    Thanks again,
    Willydo
I don't know for sure it this problem is related to having the router, but I don't remember ever having an issue with loading a flash player before.

  • Safari has trouble opening Apple's discussion page

Very odd. When I go to the main discussion page I get a message that the boards are down and will be back up soon. This happened all weekend. I can get thru with Shiira. All other sites seem to load up fine.
If I click the reload button, the page does come up. Later if I go back, I get the first message again.

    Hi Peter
Since Shiira will load try deleting all the cookies for the Apple site.,
In Safari/ Security tab. I do this at times and like magic it loads.
However it is up and down and server change message at times.
A lot of it last week. Slow today for me on my end.
I have had much of what you describe, making me think it's my system,
    or Safari rather its AD.
There is a lot of this issue in Feedback.

  • Firefox has trouble loading and quitting

click on firefox icon--either doesn't download or starts to and freezes. Have to close and re-open. Doesn't always shut down--doesn't respond, stays open. Have to force quit. Do not have a problem like this with other browsers.

I am also having this problem. FF freezes and I have to Force Quit, restart very soon freezes again. I await a solution please.
It appears that on selecting a new tab the site is endlessly loading and at that point FF freezes.

  • Firefox has trouble loading certain videos on certain websites.

My Firefox is doing some weird stuff on websites with videos things in the site. For example about half the youtube videos I try stop at 1-3 seconds in, say the video is fully loaded, and doesn't play the rest, and won't load no matter how many times I refresh and clear my cache. Other sites seem to work fine, but on some if I try to skip to certain parts in a video the image freezes and/or switches to a weird blocky green, but the sound keeps playing. I've tried uninstalling my flash, re-installing it, tried earlier versions of it, but nothing works, so I'm thinking it's Firefox that's messed up. I'd test with my internet explorer to see if it works, but it's so outdated that sites aren't even compatible with it, and my computer is too old to update it for some reason.

  • New iPhone has trouble loading Camera Roll

Got a new iphone, had icloud back everything up but camera roll isn't showing up. It's showing me that i have the correct number of pictures but it's been contstantly "Loading..." for 2.5 hours.  Any idea if they will load properly?  Anything I can do to expedite?

Welcome to the Apple Community mmcgowan.
When you restore from back up, the process will restore the OS and some initial data, it will then restart and allow you to use your device while the remaining data is downloaded and restored in the background. have you allowed enough time for this to complete.
ensure that you have a decent wifi signal.

  • Safari house trouble with "secure connections"

    Wow. What a pain...
Item 1. Safari has trouble accessing secure sites, even APPLE.COM as per below when I tried to log in to this forum!! Only one bank site works and virtually everything else (forums, banks, anything requiring a log-in) returns a dumb-arse response as below.
"Safari can’t open the page “https://support.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ACAuthWeb.woa/wa/login?appIdKey=2dd bca23a85d20e5bf7478812379ae23&path=/login.jspa%3FsuccessURL%3D/category.jspa%3Fc ategoryID%3D169” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server"
Item 2. I threw Safari in the trash and downloaded another copy to re-install and got: "Safari can't be installed on this disk. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or newer" This despite the fact I'm running 10.6.1
Since Mail has just shat itself recently and couldn't recognize an mail server if one bit it in the arse, I'm thinking 10.6.1 is the culprit and wasn't worth the disk it shipped on.
I normally LOVE my Mac but it has cost me a week of productivity this week and this is about as polite as I can manage.
Ideas? Thank you much for your tips/tricks in advance.
    MMM

Oh, and I went to update to 10.6.1 and my computer rejected the download saying its certificate was suspect
So, Mail can't locate servers, Safari won't do secure sites, and my computer rejects Apple's own updates. I have one paranoid laptop.

  • Trouble loading pages in Safari 1.3.2 (maybe due to a javascript problem?)

    Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone could offer advice on how to fix a problem I'm having with my web browsers. I can't seem to load certain pages (e.g., Amazon.com). The browser loads most of the page, but then gets stuck on the last item and never finishes loading (so the whole page stays blank). I'm having the same problem in Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. I think it may be a javascript problem. When I turn the javascript option off in Safari, I have no trouble loading the pages. Also, when I look at the safari activity monitor while opening those trouble pages, the .js files are the ones that don't load.
Things I've tried include emptying the browser cache, resetting cookies, emptying my java cache in the utilities section, and making sure all of my software is up to date.
Any help or suggestions you could give me would be fantastic. Thank you so much!

    Hello there,
Do you have a style sheet [ CSS ] you are using in Safari-> Advanced Tab? if yes set it to none, and see if that helps.
Whilst in Advanced tab check your network settings & make sure you've no proxies checked on.
In " View " Check your Text encoding try using Unicode.
Have you tried a restart,if the puter that can help.
Have you run permission repair and see if DU reports any errors.
In Utilities Disk Utility, First Aid tab. do not bother with verify perm.
do run repair permissions. Stay on the left side of the Disk Utility
< [ not repair disk ] if you know already, sorry.
Good Luck, I hope something helps..

  • My iPhone4 has 3G but Safari won't load any data, why is this?

My iPhone4 works fine in some places, but whenever I'm in the house and have 3G, safari won't load. I just get a message saying 'safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding' can anyone help me fix this?
    Thank you

I'm getting the "server stopped responding" error on apps that use 3G (Words with Friends, My Xbox Live, etc) as well as in Safari. Anything that uses the 3G network is timing out. Texts work flawlessly, and emails do arrive and send, though it's very slow.
I spoke with a representative at AT&T. She said there were no reports of tower outages or issues in my area (Dallas, Texas). She had me restore the factory defaults on the network settings, remove and reinstall the SIM card, reset my phone, turn 3G off and back on again, empty the cache and data in Safari, and some other things. None of it fixed it.
If I turn off 3G, and only use the Edge network or WiFi, everything works just fine. But 3G is broken, and has been for me since yesterday
Would love to hear if anyone else has any ideas.
