Right now I have separate user accounts for my wife and I, merely for the reason of keeping our bookmarks separate. Its forced us to come up with the usual workarounds for sharing iTunes, iPhoto, etc, and multi-users for us is only useful for keeping separate safari bookmarks.
Certainly, I could just have my wife use firefox instead, but then bookmarks don't sync with the iPhone and iPad. I wish that safari supported profiles like firefox, but it doesn't.
As another option, we can separate stuff into different folders and what not, but what I can't figure out is how to make it so that we could each have bookmarks for gmail and facebook that would log us in automatically. Its kinda stupid, i know, but being able to just click facebook and have it go straight to our account is really nice, and having to manually login each time is a nuisance.
anyone know of an easy fix for this? Thanks, tst. I wasn't holding my breath on this one.
Hmm... I hadn't thought of XControls! I'd rather not go that route, though, in the interest of keeping the error handler code as light as possible. (In the daemon itself I don't mind more complexity) If I did that, the cure might be more expensive than the problem it solves.

Load and unload it explicitly at the start and end of the app. Great if you have a structured app, but not so much if you want something more free form.
Unload it as soon as it's done doing its work (or after a timeout from the last action it took).
Sadly, this app is rather "free form". It has a lot of multi-threaded, asynchronous operations since I'm performing parallel TCP communication to several hosts. Each dynamically called VI calls the error handler.
Option 2 might be a decent idea, though. If I went with that, I'd just have to tweak the architecture accordingly. It may well be the most feasible solution.
Thanks for the quick reply! -
I run firefox on a window7 machine. I uninstalled couponamazing, verizon, and a few other programs. Then I updated flash and google chrome. I never used google chrome before. Upon going into firefox my gmail and facebook pages were not formatted correctly (all b+W with open boxes, no icons). I then uninstalled google chrome. I read some help questions and cleared my cash, removed history, and reset firefox. Still have the same problems with gmail and FB.

Pre changed passwords for Gmail and Facebook?
I just got my Palm Pre yesterday, and I'd totally love it except for one issue - it seems that it reset or changed my password for my Gmail and Facebook accounts. Initially I had no trouble with the phone - I was able to access and sync my email/facebook to the phone and use them. I then used both from my desktop computer, no problem. I tried it again a while later (maybe 30 minutes) from the desktop and the passwords were invalid.
I've been trying to reset my Gmail password, but because I can't access the alternate email (that's what I get for not loggin into it for literally years and forgetting the answers to the security questions) I've been having a REALLY hard time with it. I have no idea how this happened or what I can do. I *really* need access to my email!
Help.HI,
It used to be that for iChat we used to have to tell people to set up their Google Account using their Google ID exactly as it shows on the Google Web Mail Page (Or iGoogle) to make sure they had to "right" ending.
The Server is talk.google.com
This does not follow the format used by other Jabber servers which take the last part of the ID and pulls that through to the Server Setting tab and this is why iChat and the versions of Messages have a separate Google option to add the Account.
The next issue would be to then check the Mac firewall
It is in System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall.
It will need Unlocking.
What used to be in the Advanced Button is not in the Options Button
In here if the Firewall On then the Allow Signed Software needs to be Enabled and Messages and IMAgent need to be in the list.
If you have to Add Messages or Enabled the Signed Software bit it will pay to restart the Computer.
The System should add IMAgent itself (Or at least ask you to confirm)
Next we have to consider the Router.
If you used Port Forwarding with your Previous OS (or even computer) you may find the IP the computer has at the moment does not work for the Port Forwarding you set up.
Ideally use UPnP if you device has it.
It allows for Multiple computer s to use the same ports. The ports open when the app needs them and close after certain period on Non use.
For Messages and iChat it also allows Screen Sharing to work as this part uses a random port.

How do I get my gmail and facebook auto tabs back? I have reloaded FF 5 times.
Today when I opened FF and oops page came up saying there were problems. Since then I no longer have the auto gmail and facebook tabs that came with the new version of FF. They do not load. I sent an email earlier today with no response. I have updated FF several times as suggested my your site to no avail.
Typically 3 tabs load when I open FF:
FoxNews
Gmail tab
Facebook tab.
The only thing that loads is my homepage of FoxNews.
Thank you for your time,

How do I delete names from the drop down list when I login to gmail and facebook?
When I login to gmail and facebook several login names used in the past show up in a drop down list. I want to remove some of these names. How do I do that?
On Mac you need to use Shift+Delete
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_autocomplete_entries
*Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
*Highlight an entry in the drop down list
*Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Gmail and Facebook not loading properly after Safari update.
I got this message when I tried to check my messages:
+Some Google Mail features have failed to load due to an Internet connectivity problem. If this problem persists, try reloading the page, using https, using the older version or using basic HTML mode.+
So I tried using the basic HTML mode which meant i could read my messages, but not send or delete them. This is frustrating.
After checking other peoples posts on this topic, i tried a few things. Including creating a new user account to check if it was only a problem with my regular user account. That was no dice. Then tried resetting Safari, that didnt work. Also deleted a few random files, for eg: com.apple.Safari.plist.
But still no joy. Can anyone help please? It's not a problem with Safari; it's a problem with your connection, as the error message stated. Your ISP could be having poblems, the Gmail and/or Facebook servers could be having problems, or both. That would cause a problem with the data being trasnmitted and received by the browser, so it can't render everything that should be.
Did you try downloading another browser such as Firefox to see if it happens there, too? -
Safari 5.0 and Facebook Issue
Ever since I downloaded 5.0 on my macbook (running leopard 10.5.8) Facebook doesn't work correctly. Only website I've had issues with so far. I can open a few different pages through Facebook then all of a sudden I get a blank page and can't refresh or go back to another Facebook page. I have to wait a few minutes, or quite Safari and reopen. However I can go to another website with no issue without having to relaunch Safari..... Only noticed this issue on Facebook, and only with my laptop running leopard, not my iMac which runs snow leopard.
Any ideas?I also have the same problem. I'm on the latest version of Snow Leopard and on Safari 5.0 with my Macbook Pro. I have searched around the net and can't find the resolution. I can tried deleting my cookies, quitting safari or restarting my machine and Facebook works fine for a short while but then it reverts back to the blank page and I can't do anything on the page.

As for the TopSites issue, read here. Top Sites, Cover Flow features require compatible graphics card
I don't think in your case it's your graphics card, but thought I'd post that link just in case. Try emptying your Safari cache more often, Command + Option + E or go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and move the cache.db file to the Trash.
If you have any Safari Extensions installed, turn Extensions off from Safari / Preferences - Extensions. See if that makes a difference.
If the problem persists with TopSites, login to another user account on your Mac. See if you have problems with TopSites there.
As for logging into AD. From your Safari Menu Bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies Remove all Apple related cookies. Relaunch Safari.
If you still have problems logging into AD, launch Keychain Access. Select Passwords on the left. Delete the Apple ID keychain. Relaunch Safari. Try logging in to AD now.

Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -
Facebook Access Problem in Safari and from App
I cannot access Facebook on my ipad from Safari or the App. Each time I try I get an error message that the connection has been lost BUT I have no problem accessing the internet from other apps or other websites from Safari so the problem is specific to facebook.
Stranger still, if I google "Facebook" I have the same problem but have no issues if I google other words (provided Facebook is not included in the text).
Seems like a virus but I understand virus' do not exist on ipads....Separate each values with TAB space present in the application server .
Currently u r using | pipe character. Instead of that use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB as delimiter.
Each value will displayed in separate cells in excel sheet when u download it frm app.server

I noticed after updating to Firefox version 6.0.1 that vertical lines the same size and shape as the text cursor remain behind on the screen as the cursor moves (either while typing or by using arrow keys). This is most obvious and annoying in text-heavy applications such as when typing in Gmail, Facebook, and work webmail, for instance. (Interestingly, it's not happening now as I type this.)
This is very annoying because these lines obscure parts or even entire letters in words that have been typed. I thought that it might have been a Firefox customized 'skin' I added at the same time as updating, but I reverted to the default view and the problem remains.I noticed after updating to Firefox version 6.0.1 that vertical lines the same size and shape as the text cursor remain behind on the screen as the cursor moves (either while typing or by using arrow keys). Nokia E72 - Set up Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo accoun...
I bought my E72 3 days ago and the first impression i got was disappointing.
The first action you do when switching on E72 for the first time is to set up your email accounts.
Remember, E72 is Nokia's top email phone!!!
I chose hotmail. I enter my email account and then my password as requested.
And the next screen i get is nothing but the previous one!!!
The same happens with Yahoo accounts.
I found a way to work around the crash and set up my account through the "other" tab available on the wizard.
I am really disappointed that i have changed my beloved E71, to get an even more proffessional solution that in the end needs a total update to set up our emails.
There must be a solution in the next software upgrade and must be installed for free in all Nokia's stores.
Solved!

OS 10.9.5 and Safari 7.1 and Facebook apps
Hello.
I'm having some problems, security related perhaps, in OS 10.9.5 and Safari 7.1 on an iMac 2011.
When using a certain Facebook game app, Safari is not remembering the preference to turn off the music and sound within the app. Each time I turn off the music and sound and if I restart the app, music and sound are on again.
I have deleted all website data and the Safari cache to no avail. I checked extensions and there is only one which is not enabled.
Another piece of information that may be of use...I started a comment in Communities which I did not finish a couple days ago. When I logged on to Communities, it notified me of the content and I selected Delete. I got a message the content couldn't be deleted and I should contact my administrator.
Any insight would be helpful.
Thank you.Hi Larry,
