Safari, IE "cant locate server"

Seems to open on safari and internet explorer as the page comes up. But if i click on any favorite it gives me the above message. It has been stored for a few years and just thought id get it out and running again to play with. It did go on the internet before. Is it no longer supported? what about firefox or ? and if i cant connect to any website how would i update it.

Well it is true that many a website are not supported on those older web browsers. Flash has been updated many times, and Java on 10.3 or earlier is barely supported on most Java websites. Javascript is less troublesome, That said, if you installed 10.3.9 combo and the Java update for 10.3.9,you can follow the tip for web browsing below:

And find which web browser has the best 10.3 support.
Any website that does not follow w3.org standards or use server side processing is likely to have trouble with your machine. You can certainly write to the webmaster and inform them of http://www.anybrowser.org accessibility guide if a website needs accessibility to the older machine.

If you find the thread above is insufficient.
If you can tell us the website you are trying to connect to, we can test and see if it is not following enough standards for you to connect or you actually have a network connection issue.

Unable to create server pool, cant locate server pool file system

Hi,
While creating a server pool, I'm unable to select a physical disk for the server pool file system. I have a Fiber channel 20 GB LUN presented to 2 hosts and on both, the disks are seen. However when creating the server pool, no physical disks show up under "location", not even the local storage. Are there any logs that I can check to see whats going on?

I was able to "resolve" this. I unassigned the LUNs, deleted them on the array and represented new LUNs and that worked. Looks like if there is an existing file system on the LUN, it will not create a repository. Only wish there was a warning message to indicate the same

The v10.7.2 update may help.
If you have anti virus software installed, disabale that and try turning off the Firewall.

Safari as a media server?

Has anyone successfully used Safari as a media server to push video to networked DLNA/UpNp TVs and other devices?

You can connect the Mini directly to the iVision HD-7 via a DVI-D cable and the included mini-DVI to DVI adapter that came with the Mini.
Hopefully that DVI port is open, but if not, maybe you can shift something else to one of the Component inputs on the unit, as it seems to have many:
YPBPR x 2 component video
S-Video
Video
DVI-D (HDCP compatible)
VGA (RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB)
So, again, there is no need for the Mini's DVI video connection to go through the Denon unit (I'm pretty sure). But, do put the Mini's Optical sound output through the Denon unit.
This arrangement may cause one added step of invoking the Mini as a video source via the Projector, instead of the Denon unit.
Hopefully the Projector isn't located overhead and behind you. And, the remote is IR, so hopefully it is easy to point to the Projector.

Error message, "safari can't find server"

I installed the latest version of Flash Player and ever since then I have had several error messages - "safari can't find server". I tried uninstalling, then installing it directly from the website the next day, I also emptied cache and reset safari. No luck - any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Ok. Let's now create you a new location and see if that fixes it:
System Preferences > Network
In the Location section at the top of the window, click on the combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on the plus sign and give your location a name (like Home), then Done
Now select Airport from the side bar, make sure Airport is turned On.
Set the correct network name
Now click on Advanced
Select the TCP/IP tab, Configure IPv4 as [Using DHCP], now click on Renew DHCP Lease and wait
After a few seconds you should get an IP address of 192.168.xx.xx and the Router field filled in.
Now go to the Proxies tab and select Auto Proxy Discovery, and use Passive Mode
Click on OK, make sure Airport is still select, then Apply
Fingers crossed! This should now work...

Cant locate Sub Genre House

I have been looking for some house music as a group of music like you can with POP and Dance music. but i cant locate house like I could before. Do you know if Apple has Removed the option to locate just House music. or is there a way to navigate to it?
I have Windows 7,8 and OSx 10.9 computers. any format will help.

The procedure described by tt2 also works fine in the iTunes USA Store.
However, note that there are online stores that specialize in DJ music. They will have a much better selection of House music and will have it organized by sub-genres (deep house, progressive house, minimal, tech, etc.) Check out Beatport or Juno Download. Just buy the MP3s and add them to your iTunes library.

Safari cannot find the server and question mark in blue square

I consistently have problems with safari displaying the message safari cannot find the server. The version I have is 5.1.8 and I installed a security update today (23.3.13) hoping it would solve the problem. After refreshing the page a couple of times or restarting safari everything works as normal but this is an ongoing issue. I also have problems with images loading on sites. They appear as blue squares with question marks. I have tried most things people have said on the net but nothing is working.

Try deleting the safari plist by foloowing these instructions:
Close Safari
Open a Finder window
Click on "Go" in the upper status bar
Click and HOLD the alt/option key (Library should appear in the above list)
Keep holding the alt/otion key and click on Library (this will open a new window)
Open the Preference folder (NOT Preference Panes)
Look for com.apple.Safari.plist
Right mouse client to move this file to trash
Empty the trash
Open Safari again and hopefully your issue will be reoslved.

Just downloaded safari, can't locate the "tools" icon

New to Safari, can't locate the tools icon. It is not in the customize toolbar selections.

There is no Tools icon that I know of.

Remote Access Management Console - configuration issue with Network Location Server

The remote Access management console operation status shows all green except for network location server .
Error: There is no response from the network location server URL. DirectAccess connectivity might not work as expected, and DirectAccess clients located inside the corporate network might not be able to reach internal resources.
Resolution listed as:
1. Configure the network location server on a server that is highly available to clients on the internal network.
2. If the network location server is running on the Remote Access server, ensure that IIS is running, and that the URL is available.
The remote access server is located on this server. IIS is running. What URL: show I be looking at?
Any other thoughts so I can get remote access working.
l also am getting a remote access error for IPV6, could this be a cause:
RoutingDomainID- {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}: Unable to add the interface {D37062B2-A3E0-4496-A459-9E0BBCE5423C} with the Router Manager for the IPV6 protocol. The following error occurred: Cannot complete this function.

Hi John,
please follow the steps to reinstall TCP/IP stack.
1.Restart your PC into Safe Mode with Networking.
2.
Edit your registry. Delete the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock2
3.
Open the nettcpip.inf file in your %winroot%/inf folder
(%winroot% is usually c:/windows).
Find the [MS_TCPIP.PrimaryInstall] section. Change the Characteristics value from 0xA0 to 0x80.
Open the properties of the network connection you want to fix. In the General tab, click on the Install button. Click on the Have Disk button, and point the location to %winroot%/inf. After that select TCP/IP (not version 6).

Now you would notice that you can uninstall TCP/IP!
Do that, then restart the PC.
Go back to your network connection, and install TCP/IP again as per the above. After another reboot, you should be up and running.
I also noted that the XP network repair tool may yank out the ISA 2004 firewall client stuff. Just run the firewall clinet repair or install it again to fix that problem after you did your reboot. Before you do this kind of crazy stuff.

This along with a TCP/IP reset using the netsh command:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

Im trying to relocate my itunes to an external hd, now itunes cant locate

Hiya to anyone who can help, i have followed instructions to put my itunes library onto my external hd, but when i get itunes on another pc to open the hd, it has listed the songs but cant locate them, so i thought i hadnt copied them properly.
So i went back to my original itunes library on the hd of my pc, went into edit, preferences, advanced, changed my file location, had keep my itunes folder organized ticked but not the other. clicked ok, went into consolidate files and now itunes cant locate any of these songs either.
Please help, i dont know what else to do, i have spent hours on this when i am suppost to be revising. Please Please help me.

I am having a lot of trouble understanding what you have done because you still haven't explained exactly wheat you did to get your music on your new PC or where the files are located.
iTunes is very fussy about the exact location and name of files and folders and it it will loose them if there is any change after you added them to iTunes.
Which drive had you music files at the moment and what is the name the music folder?
If you look on the advanced tab in itunes preferences, what is the location of the iTunes Music folder and is it the same as the folder containing your music?
Is your itunes library file (iTunes Library.itl) in Music\iTunes or have you put it somewhere else using a shift key start.
Did you start with an empty iTunes library on the new PC and add your music files using File>>Add folder to library, or did you do something else?
I think you probably need to delete all the tracks from your library and then add them again with File>>add folder to library, but I can't be sure without understanding exactly what you have done.

recently moved my itunes to an external drive... but a lot of tracks are missing.. and not sure why as they are all parts of albums etc.
