Safari- Images load, then turn black

Hello,
Recently, a website that I have often visited without issue in the past is now not displaying images properly.
When I open www.Sporcle.com, the images that usually display next to each quiz are not loading properly. Initially the image will load for 2 seconds, then turn black.
It has been happening for some time now, and is not happening on any other website. It does not happen when I access the Sporcle site from another machine.
My Flash and Java appear to be updated to the most recent versions.
OSX version 10.9.4
I'm a novice, so unsure what additional info would be helpful.
Any advice that might help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Nevermind I found the answer.  I accidentally hit the load on import for the green filter and simply had to uncheck it.

  • Safari image loading two times ?

    Hi,
I have a website that loads the contents for an ul tag throug an jquery ajax call every 10 seconds. In this chunk, I have an img tag.
I see the image loading, then at the next load the image blinks one time, after that the image is ok, until I select another image. After selecting another image, it shows correctly, and upon next load it blinks one time.
When I look in the Web Inspector - Resources, I see the ajax call being made followed by loading the image. The next time I see the ajax call again followed by loading the image again. From here on, I only see the ajax call every 10 seconds, and no image reloading.
Can someone explain to me why the image is loaded twice ? Why is it not loaded and cached in one time ?
I see this on iPod Touch, iPad, Safari Desktop.
If this is a bug, does anyone know a work around to prevent the image to blink one time ?

    I have created a testcase
    http://www.maakmenietgek.com/test6
Best is to open safari, open the webinspector in the resrouces, and then browse to this page.
I should load with a red square, after 3 seconds it should load a green square, and 3 seconds after that you will see the blink. In webinspector you can see that the green image is reloaded.

  • My ipod needs to be restored but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" for approximately 20 seconds and then turns black as if it is turned off.

So a couple of months ago, I had to restore my new IPOD 5 TOUCH because i had forgotten the password and disabled it, so as you can imagine I am quite familiar with restoring it.
(The last time I had synced it was the only time that I had to restore it when I first got it when I had disabled it)
This morning I wanted to sync my ipod. So I plugged my ipod into my WINDOWS computer and waited for itunes to open, and it did just like it is supposed to. It then said itunes needed the latest update so i continued with updating it. Itunes updated, but then said that my ipod needed the latest software. I said "ok update" and thats when itunes made my ipod into DFU mode without me even touching it.
SOOOO as you can imagine I was quite upset. I then have realized that because Itunes had moved it into DFU mode on its own, I could not manually get my ipod out of DFU mode so the only thing i was left to do was go ahead and restore it.  (correct me if Im wrong)
My huge issue right now is that my ipod NEEDS to be restored, but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" screen for approximatley 20 seconds and then turns black as if it has been turned off. When I plug it into my computer and turn it on to the "connect to itunes" mode, it does open it in itunes and starts "extracting sofftware" but then when it turns black after 20 seconds, it closes out because my computer thinks it has turned off.
I have tried charging it, and nothing has progressed. Im not sure if anything can be done for it right now, or if I could bring it to an apple store to fix it... it's brand new about 3 months old.
HELP and some advice would be greatly appreciated  !
    Thanks!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How can I open a PDF in Safari without the screen turning black?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
Depending upon your version of OS X and your version of Safari, as detailed in the Adobe help document links below, Adobe pdf documents created with the latest releases may require an (updated free) Adobe plug-in for Safari, or (free) Adobe Reader in order to display properly.

Reinstall OS X, either from disc or a recovery partition. You don't mention which version of OS X you're running so I don't know which it will be.

  • Pictures display then turn black after reload or switching tabs

Images on web pages load initially (usually) but then some turn black if the page is reloaded or if switching between tabs. Will also happen with pictures at bottom of pages on initial load. Sometimes the pictures will display normally again after scrolling, but not always. Happens when single tab is open, multiple tabs are open, and both in and out of private mode. Started in version 34 or 35, still happening in 36.

Correction: desktop version works for new reply but not when editing a reply.

  • Background images flickering and turning black on scroll in published site, but in not preview.

The background images are very flickery and turning black when scrolling when viewing published site in Safari.   This just started happening today after working on this for a few weeks now and the first time I'm noticing it.   Everything is still ok in preview mode.  All the large background images are optimized to be 500kb or less (they are all just placeholders).

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

that is so strange, i had the location "image/rotator/......" for all three of my images in the js file and only the third one works?
i believe they are all loading up fine as of this moment, just like they were yesterday, but not this morning when i first arrived at work. i wonder what changes the location by itself.
hopefully the same thing won't happen again.
as for the text problem, thanks for pointing that out, i really appreciate it! but our office has been quite understaffed for a while, and no one here really knows anything about web maintenance. hopefully someone will fix those problems some day.
    thanks again bregent!

  • After i got it 10 mints my brand new iphone 6's screen begin to flickering then turn black

weeks ago i ordered a iPhone 6 on apple.nz website, i got it delivered yesterday afternoon, 10 min after first turning on the screen of my brand new iPhone 6 began flickering a little, i thought it will be fine, but then the situation getting worse. At very beginning, i can fix it with holding the home key, but later this solution did not work, the screen flickering badly then  the whole screen faded into black. i have to restarted it couple times to make my phone work again.
so this morning i chat with the online service ten call the service number of New Zealand, they asked me to restore my iPhone by iTunes, so i did. but after that the flickering get more frequently , and the speed of turn black is getting faster.
it makes me stop all my work trying to make this iPhone 6 back to work, i spent about 4 hours in total  calling the service center. i feel REALLY ANGRY NOW!
also i noticed that when i open the safari the home page is Apple China, I  saw some  comments about the products from China have many  functional problem. If it was really i sincerely hope the apple company could take this seriously.

Okay, so after the call to restore the device and it didn't work, what did they tell you to do next? Since the device is brand new, it is still covered under the warranty, and it is still under the 14 day return policy. Take advantage of that and get a new one. You think that an occasional defective device is that bad? You are not going to get 100% perfect devices. Most companies are happy with 10% rejects getting out into the retail market. Given the record number of these things sold, you realize what 10% is?

  • Why does my screen keep flashing and then turn black when I use the marquee tool?

When I bring up a photo to work on and i try to draw circle or square with the Marquee tool my screen flashes black and then stays black until I use the move tool?

This issue is associated with your graphics driver not being compatible with PS' hardware acceleration. Updating the driver if possible would be advisable, otherwise turn off OpenGL drawing under Preferences --> Performance.

  • My iPhone screen turned black with blue stripes then went to the logo screen and then turned black. (iPhone 5) help!

My lock button has not been working for a few months. I dropped it a couple of days ago but it barely did it a while ago. I was texting when the screen developed blue/purple lines with a black background and then it went to the apple logo. So I thought it would just restart but then it turned black and won't respond to me trying to work it blindly (guessing where the icons are)... Should I just let it die and hope for the best? Any advice? Help.

Most likely a damaged LCD display. Probably will not fall under warranty . Apple can do an out of warranty repair for 199 on a 4S. You could look into insurance options as well through your carrier.

  • My iMac turns to black sometimes and need to restart it and then turns black again in 2 to 15 mins... how do i solve this problem?

My imac turns to black someitmes. And I need to restart it... sometimes it works good for like 30 min, sometimes it turns black again even when i was typing in my password and need to restart it again and again untill i really angry that i have to leave it alone as i am going to break it.
So, how do i solve this black screen issue?
I can still hearing the musics and vedios and games that are playing.

It sounds like you are having a overheating issue.
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

please help. i have norton virus protector

I have a similar problem. Not sure you're on here (since the post is really old) but did you manage to work it out? How?
    My thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19007548#19007548
My Imac froze earlier today as I was dragging an image from safari into indesig and when it froze the weirdest pattern overlaid the screen. It looked just like the opacity pattern from photoshop with grey and white squares. I turned the computer off using the power button and unplugged everything.
Now when I try to start it these weird lines appear on my start up screen (see link)...
    http://meijerladdaruppgrejer.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/oops/
as you can see the apple and the wheel appears as normal...
... then it moves to a normal looking white screen (perhaps a bit greener than usual) and around 30 seconds later freezes at the blue screen.
    I've tried the cmd + alt + p + r several times but it won't help.
If i press alt during start up I can see and choose my hard drive but just end up at the blue screen again.
Can I try starting it up in safe mode or something?

  • After shutdown I have to log in twice.  The first time it starts to load, then goes black, then gives me login page again.  Do you think I have a virus?  Or is this Yosemite bug?

Just updated to Yosemite on my MBP.  After shutdown now when I login, it starts the process (the bar starts to move), then the screen goes black, then it asks me to login again and this time it is a successful startup.  Is this a Yosemite bug or do I have a virus?  I also have some funny tiling on the screen at youtube and some other websites.  Another bug?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
