Safari iPad issues

Why hasn't the safari issues (dropping out during webpage loads) been fixed on the iPad?  VERY FRUSTRATING when you can't use this great product for one of its intended uses. After using many Apple products over the years - this issue is the first that has made me consider switching to another product.

When opening a web page or moving within a website; safari will just drop out to an ipad screen and you have to reopen safari.  Seems to be random as it happens on multiple websites.  Sometimes it seems that embedded videos cause it (ie a YouTube video) but that causes only about 25% of the dropouts.

Safari ios7 issues on iPad Air - can't open new tabs or view other tabs.
The + sign just closes the app every single time!
In some cases, the back and forward buttons don't work.
It's driving me crazy becuase if the webpage I'm on opens and ad or tab that I don't want to look at, I can't close it and go back, I have to retype the web address in and find where I was on the site!

I, too, tried all the fixes...nothing worked.
Found another thread on this forum and looks like a lot of us are having same problem.
Next time it happens, go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/ABOUT and check to see it there is a "low memory" incident report.
    If there is:
See the discussion thread "iPad Air Low Memory Crashes".
Seems to be common....this could turn into a HUGH issue.

  • PNG images not displaying in Safari iPad

    Hi all,
We have developed a webpage that loads PNG images in a div that can expand / reduce.
The issue i cant seem to solve is why the PNG images do not load on Safari iPad. They just display as blue question marks. However not an issue with PC browsers.
    The link is here: http://bit.ly/yBDKl9
Any ideas or suggestions will be welcomed.
    King regards,
    Matt

Thanks for this.  Looks like I'm going to have to reduce the size of my image since I've noticed the same problem on an iPhone 3GS.  My original is big but only 2 colour. I don't like ragged edges so best make it 16 shades of grey first so the edges on the smaller image are a bit softer (PaintShop Pro can cope with this). I am certainly not going to degrade it with JPEG zits!
This problem only appears with reduced images (eg. using the HTML style="width:50%;") - if I view source and click on the image link, the full sized image appears, but is far too big for the screen.
Symptomatic of a not-very-good operating system/browser since even M$ got that bit right! BTW - llawjm's website still has the problem he described on my iPhone, but looks fine on a Tesco Hudl (Android) and Firefox on a PC.

  • Upload iCloud file from Safari (iPad)

Hello Community. Like many people, I consider iCloud as a great initiative from Apple but I am desperate to see that it's impossible to select an iCloud file from Safari (iPad) and to post this file on a website. Does nobody have to upload a CV, a PDF or an Excel sheet on the Net from his iPad from example? At the moment, you can only select a picture or take a picture! This is not serious. Thanks for your replies.

    Hey Flightmood,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you want to access content in iCloud from the iOS device. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support
You can access your files in iCloud Drive any of these ways:
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8, you can access your files from Apple apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, or any apps that support iCloud Drive.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a good one,
    Mario

  • How do i delete Reader Links in Safari iPad

how do i delete Reader Links in Safari iPad?
    What I have done:
select a Link in the Reader Links Menu.
    Swipe across the link
    a Red DELETE button appears
    I press the DELETE Button
Nothing Happens (including no error message)!!
    Can you help please?

Mine appears to work. Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't fix it then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Safari (iPad) not handling a 401 correctly

    Hi All
I'm having a problem where Safari iPad (v 4.3.1 8G4) is sending a request to IIS, IIS sends back a 401 and Safari iPad spins its wheels.  I proxied Safari iPad through my wintel machine and using Fiddler and Wireshark saw the conversation.  As a second test, I ran the same request on windows Safari.  When it got the 401 it properly displayed the authentication box.
There are a few differences with the requests and subsesquant response.  Could it be something with the User-Agent?
Anyone know what is going on and why iPad Safari isn't handling the 401?
    Thanks Tim

  • High the tab, in pixels, of safari iPad

I need to know how high the tab, in pixels, of safari iPad?
What's size in pixels takes the space of videos on safari iPad?

i just noticed that as well. wasn't able to dig anything up via google, so i'm guessing the dvd drive in the MBP just a normal dvd drive - the HD option in the dvd player is probably a preemptive addition for when apple starts shipping units with HD capable drives.

  • Javascript doesn't work on safari desktop but works properly on Safari  ipad. I already cleaned a cache without success

javascript doesn't work on safari desktop but works properly on Safari  ipad. I already cleaned a cache without success. IE, FF and Opera are working well

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Youtube thumbnail in facebook is too large (safari ipad 2 ios 5.0.1)

Youtube thumbnail in facebook is too large (safari ipad 2 ios 5.0.1)
    Please help

About all that can be suggested is to use the feedback form and talk to Apple. They have communicated with some users, trying to get more info to find out just what the battery drain is so they can fix it. Unfortunately with the myriad of operating systems, apps and individual tweaks, there could be several combinations of settings that are draining the battery.
My personal suspicion is that it has something to do with iCloud and the wifi syncing. (My ipad, before I changed the setting, was reaching out to find a sync on a regular basis. And it may still be doing so, however I set my iTunes to not automatically open to keep my device from trying to sync several times in an evening...not to mention the constant aggravation of iTunes opening regularly)
That said, I could be wrong and it could be an app that users have in common, or several apps.

  • Has anyone solved the Safari Crashing Issue on iPad Air

I am using an iPad Air with iOS 7.0.4 and Safari continues to crash while I am scrolling. I have tried the suggested fix: clear history/cookies/data and then reset the iPad, but that did not fix the problem. I can consistently recreate the crash by doing the following:
Clear the Safari history/cookies/data (Settings --> Safari)
Reset the iPad (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for 10 seconds)
    Open Safari
    Open the url https://twitter.com/TimCookAppleCEO
Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the "Tap to load more tweets" button.
Repeat Step # 5 three times
Attempt to scroll to the top of the page by performing a finger swipe up
    Safari crashes (closes abruptly)

I am trying to download software to make a hard bound photo book.  I keep getting safari cannot run application?  I have first generation iPad

  • Safari not working on ipad issue

Safari is not working on ipad but is on my other mobile devices, what could be the problem?

Do this first, and then read Diavonex's post above - and perform those steps as well.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
After you perform all three steps, try Safari again.
