Safari is deleting all my bookmarks once a week

I really dont understand this:
Approx. once a week when I launch Safari ALL my bookmarks are gone...
The Bookmarks.plist is located in ~/Library/Safari only all my bookmarks are mysteriously gone....
I have tried resetting Safari and deleting the preferences...
Anyone with ideas are more than welcome
PS - On this MacBook I've done an upgrade to Leopard rather than a clean install... Wish I hadn't upgrading instead of clean installing is just about the most stupid thing one can do....

The actual bookmarks folder is:
user/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/Bookmarks
Your history is in the same Safari folder.
I know my history is cleared out every week or so, but never my bookmarks.
If something is clearing out your caches you might find other data missing.
Be sure you don't have the synchronize with other computers via .mac checked.
Until you find the problem, make a copy of the bookmark folder and keep it safe.

To reset the bookmarks to the handful of default bookmarks that come with a new installation, start Firefox in [[safe mode|Firefox safe mode]], then in the first dialog box that appears select the option "Delete all bookmarks except for backups" then click "Make Changes and Restart". Have used Superduper app. to back up and checked back-up occasionally to see if all files present and appeared OK.
I had previously started machine using original CD #1 to try and replace Eudora which was acting up. Did not knowingly touch Safari.

I checked the content of my other back-up and found the bookmark Bookmarks.plist in the library under Safari
Dumped the existing copy in the computer and drag-dropped the back up. All bookmarks restored.
Solved the Stickies problem by using Spotlight to find file "stickiesdatabase" and did a drag- drop to replace file. All data restored.
Re Ical data loss. Used Spotlight to find iCal document in Library - Preferences where I found com.apple.iCal.plist in folder.
Got ready to make change but did not immediately remove file. When I returned to Preferences folder to grab above document,
the readable descriptors had been changed to code consisting of some upper case letters and/or single symbols!
So now I cannot tell which is the symbol iCal.plist

Sorry, but it's not possible to select all in the mail app to delete all messages at once. One at a time is the way that you have to go.

Very likely, depending on your email account.
The way I would do it is in fact to click on each email. If you press "edit", you can then click six or eight in each screen (which will place checkmarks next to each as clicked), and then simply delete them. It's really a very quick process.

Plug your device into a computer and open your photo import application and it'll allow you to remove all photos.

Safari auto-deletes all cookies

So periodically, every few days, Safari automatically deletes all my cookies. I don't want it to do this but I can't find a way to make it stop. It didn't use to happen, it seems to have started happening after an update, so is this normal, was this put in as a security feature, or is some problem afoot?

Since the last raft of updates, I have a problem where all sites I am usually always logged in with are logged out and the username and password no longer fill themselves in, until I re-enter them, and then it will work normally for a few days and then they all get lost again. In Safari Preferences, all cookies are still present, and are forms autofill URLs and keychain shows the site passwords too. Is this what you have?

Why is my ipad suggesting bookmarks from my iPhone? I turned off iCloud safari and deleted all history, cookies.

I keep getting suggestions when I type a URL in safari and they are bookmarks synced to my iPhone. I did sync these bookmarks at one point to my iPad over iCloud, but since have deleted all bookmarks, cleared cache and history, turned off safari sync in iCloud between devices, turned off my iPad as well as removed safari from the multi tasking bar and I still can't figure out why these suggestions keep turning up when I type a URL. Have you poked around in the settings? there are a lot of things defaulted to on that you may not need, such as background app updates, background app refresh and notifications.

I am not able to delete all the bookmarks that I select to delete by clicking on the star. Most that won't delete seem to be in the unsorted bookmark category. I have tried many times and they just won't delete. What can I do.?

When I follow the directions about deleting bookmarks by clicking on the bookmark, then clicking on the blue star and then clicking on delete bookmark, it will work with some but not all my bookmarks. I have been looking for half an hour and I cannot find the bookmarks organizer. I want to delete ALL my bookmarks and I cannot do it. They are not in a folder so I cannot delete the folder. This interface is terrible.

No bookmarks menu. No relevant options on the "firefox button." No relevant context menus. Where is the bookmarks organizer? Not the toolbar on the left, I cannot use that to delete hundreds of bookmarks not in a folder.

"Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4 and later.
