Safari is iPad's biggest problem

Ipad is supposed to be your internet gateway in the house and is a perfect format for that but I am getting very frustrated with Safari's limitations (iPad version).
Many sites that work fine on my macbook are not working on the iPad, pages with scroll down windows / lists is one for example. Pdf's that open only on what's visible on the screen and getting stuck on that with nothing else coming and no access to even the bottom of the first page.
Lastly i find the internet connection to be much slower on the iPad that on the other computers in the house.

My browsing habits are a bit fixed, as far as flash sites go. Because of unreliable Flash support over the years, I usually avoid sites which rely heavily on Flash, in my experience most Flash based content is annoying advertisements anyway, which I frankly don't need to see.
So far, since having iPad since launch day in the UK, 28th May, I have had absolutely no issues with Safari and the sites I browse on the Internet. Sites I used which did incorporate Flash into their web site, have HTML5 beta sites and work absolutely fine.
If you have a look at Apple's Safari 5 site and view the demos of HTML 5 I think you'll agree it is far more capable, not to mention faster than any Flash offering.
I do not work or speak for Apple, just my opinion.

Swiffy Problem on Safari for IPad

I just finished an HTML5 site which was done using Flash CS6 / Swiffy extension to convert to html 5. Site looks great all links work on desktop browsers but in Safari on IPad I get the "operation could not be completed" message. The site validates fine and now I'm stuck with all this work done and an irate client who wants to know why this is happening.

hmm, interesting! The swiffy animation is inside a container, that container is wrapped around a main container which has a css file attached. that css sheet holds the rest of the html and images that make up the entire page as the swiffy animation is just in the header
I'm gonna do the following, upload two pages of just the Swiffy animation, if I get no erros on Safari mobile then I know its the way my doctype is done as the swiffy doctype and my regualr doctype that dreamweaver CS6 generates is a bit different.
I will reply back on my findings.

How do I bookmark a link in Safari on iPad?

The question is a bit more trickier than it sounds at first.
The problem is, I can't just open the link and then add it.
It's a "What's new" link in a forum and once you click it it changes from the actual generic link to a specific search ID link which then is pointless to bookmark
So I need to somehow copy and paste the generic link into the bookmark in Safari on iPad.
Any ideas?

How to open a password-protected PDF in Safari on iPad(3)?

I have some password-protected PDFs available on my public-facing website (hosted by MS Office365) that I'm unable to open in Safari on my iPad(3). When attempting to open these files using Safari on my iPad, I receive a grey screen with no presentation of the Adobe Reader "insert password" dialogue box. I do have Adobe Reader installed on my iPad. These PDFs do open on my PC with both IE9 and Safari. I can also open these PDFs on my iPad independent of using Safari. And, I have some non-password-protected PDFs on my website that open using Safari on my iPad. The problem seems to be uniquely associated with the combination of 1) a password-protected PDF, 2) Safari, and 3) the iPad(3). Does anyone have a solution to this particular situation?

Someone on another forum said you can with the app Goodreader Lite, but I haven't gotten to try it yet. I will let you know in about 45 minutes.

There is no reset button. To reset, hold down both the power and home buttons for perhaps 15 seconds and the iDevice will turn itself off.
But the problem you report (a blank lit screen shows for a second then disappears) is what you would get if the battery wasn't charged up. Try plugging it in for a few hours, then turning it on normally.

How do I to update Safari with iPad 1

Safari crashes regularly on my iPad. My iPad is running the "best" OS available for it iOS 5.1.1... I would like to upgrade Safari to see if the problem goes away. However, I can't figure out how to upgrade to the version of Safari that is compatible with iOS 5.1.1. Any ideas?

The original iPad cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1 which includes Safari so try a reset.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Ipad retina signal problems

Hi,
I've got an Ipad retina i've had it over 2 years now, but it is still immaculate so I really don't want to have to get a new one. We've been to three the other day (contract with three) they have given us a new sim card to try but it hasn't worked. He said it may be the Ipad that has something wrong with it. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? There are some masses down in the area which means the one that serves my area is getting over loaded. However we have 2 phones and now 4 ipads all on three in the same house and 3 of the ipads work fine as do the phones. When i take the Ipad out it will work sometimes but is very temperamental
Sorry forgot to add, it seems to be mainly with safari that it has the problem. It will work on other apps but doesn't always load them fully.

My iPad is having problems with our wifi.

There are three bars up in the left of the screen but when i go into the wifi settings it has a spinning circle and no check mark. I can not use the internet in safari or in any of my apps. The same thing happens with my iPod, my Mom's ipod, and all of my sibling's ipods.

I am using safari on my iPad to respond here. What problems are you having? Do you have a good wifi connection? Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go.

Ipad Mini - Internet problem - IOS 7.0.4/7.0.2

Just made the upgrade to this new IOS 7.0.4 and suddently my ipad mini started to having problems with the wifi connection.
I am completely dissapointed with Apple and this new IOS 7.0.4, why releasing it if wasn't ready yet?? My ipad mini was fine till today, now i made this new upgrade and i simply don't have access to internet. It keeps saying "Safari cannot open the page blabla because your ipad is not connected to the internet. When in fact he is, and it has signal connectivity. Also keeps saying connection timed out, obviously.
I have downgrade it to the IOS 7.0.2 throught Itunes and now he still has this wifi problem. Great job Apple, i am very happy.
I guess i have to stop using my ipad and wait for Apple to hopefully fix this in the new software update or option 2: bring the modem along with me when i go to my kitchen then when i move into the livingroom since the ipad needs to be next to the modem/router. Ridiculous.
There is no solution right?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

IPad 2 Internet Problem!

My iPad 2 is connected to WiFi, it has a full signal strength, but whenever I try to use Safari, or any other web based application, it says I am not able to
access the internet, even though I am clearly connected to WiFi. (I also had 4 other devices connected to the WiFi, I thought that was the problem, but even
after I disconnected those devices, the internet on the iPad still did not work)
*The internet is working fine on all my other devices, my iMac, my Macbook Pro, and my iPhone 5, it is just my iPad 2 that seems to be having a problem.
Please help me resolve this issue as fast as possible, it is very urgent.

IPad 3 browsing problem

Hi Guys
I am using iPad 3 since 2012. Suddenly iPad is not browsing as it was. The problem is majority with Safari and you tube short videos and web searches. Does it any thing with catch memories,cookkies,temp files? like laptops? What are the suggested actions as trouble shooting?
It is being operated with same modem as wifi resource. other resources like iPhone, smart phone, smart TV are being able to browse at the same time. Only iPad is facing problem. Please suggest action to overcome this.
Storage is 32 gb. 8 gb free.

Yes, clearing the cache works like it does on your computer and it could help in this situation.
GO to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data. Then close the Safari app and reset your iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
Now close Safari. In order to close Safari, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app, then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
One other thing that you could consider is to reset your router. Even though every other device is connecting to the internet without any problem, resetting the router can sometimes help. If you want to reset the router, unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in again.

IPad air reboot problem

Are lots of people meet the new iPad air restart problem? I have met it several times since I bought it a week. Any solution can avoid it or should I go to  store to change a new one As this is a really annoying problem.

While I am using a application like safari, the iPad just restarted. Probably it wasn't a really restart because it just took a seconds and the a white screen with an  in the middle came up just like usually turn on the iPad and back to lock screen and any application I was using were closed after that.

The feature has been removed to make safari even less useable. You need to download a third party browser like atomic web browser to get the functionality you want back.
Like many new IOS 7 "features", safari on the ipad is a FAIL.
At least you can now bury safari in a folder containing hundreds of icons that you can only view 9 at a time.
