Safari will not open any webpages. I can hit home page and nothing happens.
I click on a bookmarked page nothing happens.

    Hello,
What version of Safari are you using?
If 3.0.4, check the contents of these folders:
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/Input Managers/
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/Application Support/
    /Library/Input Managers/
    /Library/Application Support/
If there is anything in them, drag the contents onto your Desktop and retry.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 will not open. It shows the splash screen and terminates with non admin login

Dreamweaver CS5 will not open. It shows the splash screen and terminates with non admin login but works fine with admin login.
    OS - WinXP Sp3
    Things I tried.
    1) Gave full rights on dreamweaver folder in program files.
    2) Disabled welcome screen
    3) Updated to Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4
    4) Reinstalled
    5) Formated PC
    But issue persists, please help.

Have you tried deleting or renaming the Dreamweaver configuration file?
    See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
This can solve many problems and create one in that any snippets that are installed are lost, but you can get them back. Instead of deleting the config file, just name it config.old. When your system is working, just copy the snippets from the .old file to the new one.

  • Safari could not open this page because the server stopped responding

Since upgrading to 4.2 I get this message a lot even though the page loads anyway:
"safari could not open this page because the server stopped responding"

Have you Checked your firewall setting(of both windows and of the Anti Virus).
I was Having the same Problem, and tried everything from the Internet, then i realised that firewall can mess things up and so i immediately TURNED OFF the firewall and restarted my Network and my Ipod ....THE INTERNET WORKED
i am using win vista and McAfee.
want to add few more things:
1> adjusting brightness has nothing to do with Networking.
2> Multiplayer/online games also get into problem due to antivirus firewall(AVG anitvirus specially.....Disabling firewall or setting it to permit the Device/program to access Internet WORKS)
3>to know if the problem is with the Idevice or with the System, try connecting other devices to that netwrk, if non of them connect then its the problem with the System/Network/OS and not with the Device........Resetting you Idevice again and again will not Solve the problem.
    Happy Idevicing

Firefox does not open, but instead gives the error message, "Failed to read the configuration file." It has worked in the past, but not now.
I REINSTALL 10 TIMES SO DON'T TELL ME THAT!!!
I'm piss because i need firefox working again so i can finish reseaching my speech in 5 days.

Which files do you have in the defaults\pref folder in the Firefox program folder?
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
    See also "Other solutions":
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 22.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • Safari not open some webpages

Hi there, I am a newbie on Mac and however on Safari. Sorry for my english too.
I have problems to open some webpages with Safari, so I must use Firefox for some websites.
Is that normal? I prefer Safari and I would like to use only it, but that's not possible, so I must use only Firefox as my preferred browser!
I am not happy for this solution!

    HI,
No, that's not normal. If you can open the same site on Firefox, then Safari should be able to also.
    Try trouble shooting...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons and click Reset. Then relaunch Safari and try a webpage you couldn't open before. If it still won't load the page...
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash. If you still have problems...
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and *restart your Mac.*

  • Safari does not open some sites

Since last one year Safari has not been opening certain sites, so had to load Google Chrome as a back up.
Recently bought a new Macbook, and got an upgrade of OS X to Yosemite. Thought now the problem is going
to be over but disappointed that even the latest software has not cleared the issue. Have tried some of things that
are suggested in the forums, but so far no foolproof solution. So wondering whether have to resort again to Google chrome

It sounds to me that you are experiencing the "unexpectedly losing connection" error that doesn't allow web pages (even some of Apple's pages) to load. I'm experiencing the same thing and after clearing out my website data and turning off extensions and a host of other attempts to fix, I still get the same issue.
I've switched over to Chrome for now after using Safari from the very beginning until I see an update that fixes it.

  • SAFARI DOES NOT OPEN CERTAIN WEBPAGES, INSTEAD DOWNLOADS ASPX EXTENSIONFILE

Safari doesnot open certain webpages, instead it downloads a file with .ASPX extension.
I opened the Mac in safeboot and run Disk Utility and repaired Disk permissions under it. In safe boot, safari (or other) browser opens all the webpages very well, but when I open the system in normal mode, again .aspx issue appears.
I am getting so upset with the system. Can you please help me?
    Thank you in advance

We had this problem on a few websites over here and in our case the administrators of the pages had to make some changes to the pages to make them Safari compatible.
A workaround we used in the meantime was to set Acrobat to open aspx files using the finders Get Info window.
Then we set Firefox as the default browser.
Then when we clicked on ASPX links the files downloaded to the disk and when we double clicked them in Firefoxes downloads window they opened in a PDF window inside Firefox.
I hope you get what I'm talking about.

  • HT1430 dueing the  update ios7 7.0.2 ipad can not open. They show the message is correct the itunes. I back the house and correct the itunes and get the recover the ipad but unsucessful. now the ipad is unavaible to start. pls help

dueing the update IOS 7 7.0.2, ipad show the message is contact the itunes, when I back the house, ipad contact the PC and itunes for recovery the ipad but unsuccessful. Now ipad is not start.please help

I hope this helps. If I understood your question properly, it is the same or similar problem many, including myself, had with the IOS7 update. I'll relay my situation & what I did to rectify it.  I have the iPad2 & MACBook Pro. I have an iPhone 5 but won't be updating it.
IF YOU HAVEN'T YET UPDATED YOUR iPAD TO IOS 7... DON'T. NOT UNTIL YOU'RE CERTAIN YOU HAVE BACKED UP YOUR iPAD, AT LEAST. BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN YOU HAVE BACKED UP YOUR DEVICE.
FIRST: BACK UP YOUR IPAD, & ALL YOUR DEVICES.
NEXT: CHECK FOR UPDATES ON ALL DEVICES.
I updated my iPad while away from my main wifi connection because using my main wifi for the last update subsequently interfered with my connection thereafter. New problem now.
1.) Once I updated (was it successful/unsuccessful?) Because...
My iPad showed a large apple with a line underneath; then it illustrated & said, "connect to iTunes." i can't accessa thing. (Huh? Doesn't Apple know people TRAVEL FAR away from their MAC with their iPads? I WAS RUDELY LEFT WITH AN INOP DEVICE on the road.)
2.) On my MAC: I checked for all updates, & ensured my iTunes was updated.
3.) I followed thre following instructions from a website (http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/ios-7-problems/) I found when researching this common problem. iPhone... iPad... same instructions...
...connect to iTunes and try DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode.
    Potential solution:
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button to turn your iPhone off.
Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for ten seconds, and then release the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue to hold down the Home button until you see a pop-up on iTunes stating that “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.”
Your iPhone screen should be blank, if you see a logo or message on it then you are not in DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode.
Select your iPhone in the left hand column of iTunes and select Summary then Restore.
You may need to install the iOS 7 update again.
    ------------------ THIS WORKED.
I followed the instruction & so far so good. DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR iPAD! It will continue to prompt you through SEVERAL items, including the re-installation of one of your previous back-ups. It appears the back-up was successful & that everything is now back to normal.
Except that now I'm stuck with the juvenile appearance of this new IOS. My Notepad no longer looks like a notepad. Why don't I just type on DOS? My APPLE easthetice have disappeared. If I can, I will revert to IOS 6.

  • Safari will not open any webpages other than my homepage and mail

App Store connects as does iTunes
But no web pages I.e. apple.com

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • I can not open PDF webpages. The acrobat flashes, then the screen goes black.

After searching for a certain web page of site, I click on the link, if the link is a PDF link, the screen flash, an adobe box briefly, the goes black.
The extensions and add ons have been updated, still no success.

I have tried that countless time. Refresh, refresh, refresh!
I have tried opening in the IE tab add-on thing. Nothing...
    I have updated adobe. Nothing...
I copy and paste it a new internet explorer window and that does the trick.... That is not the solution to the Mozilla issue though....

  • Safari will not load some webpages

I have been using Safari the same way for the last year every week-day to run the same basic tasks on websites. Last week, I updated the security software as recommended and now I can't log into the bank account, and the auction website data I usually see isn't displayed, and on a lending website I can't upload documents.
I tried the fix on the forum to change my system preferences, in the network, using the advanced settings, to DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (applied); but no fix.
I check for updates every-day, but no new updates.
Do I need to upgrade to Yosemite?
    - If I do upgrade, do I need to re-install my software (like QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)?
The problem is starting to begin with CHROME too. The OPERA browser seems to still be working (that's my back-door browser to see if there's a problem with other browsers, so I like to keep it as my 3rd and final emergency option only). Omni-Web I will use if I HAVE to, but I don't trust it yet.

    - If I do upgrade, do I need to re-install my software (like QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)?
No, not unless an oops happens. You should make at least 2 backups before attempting to install a new OS.
One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won't have to go though the revert process.

I have just brought office 365 and it is telling me to mange my accout to ba able to download the office app bit it keeps telling me the server has stopped responding.  What is the next move?

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.
