Safari Java Isnt working!
I wanted to post pictures on Facebook, which uses Java, and for some reason Java isnt working! I uploaded the new java just like technical support told me to do, but it still doesn't work. Please help me!

very basic first step : in Safari-Preferences-Security , make sure that Java is enabled.
If no improvement, quit Safari & move the file /users/your user name/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist to the desktop & try again.
still no Java? try Safari & facebook in another user account; if you only have one, you can make a new one in System Preferences-Accounts, just click the + button at bottom left.

Every time that I attempt to open a java app in safari or firefox, I am simply given the java cup loading logo and it never goes beyond that. Is this an issue between java 1.4 and java 5.0?
I'm not dumb about computers, I'm logged into an admin account, I've tried waiting 20 minutes for it to load just the title screen, I've updated all of the files, disabled older versions of java, used all of the version combinations with signed and unsigned applets and nothing works.
I'm just going to attempt to fix it myself, I hate to say that this Official Apple Forum doesn't help me at all. All I get are the same questions about my knowledge of technology, and I'm very disappointed that I am constantly treated like I just learned how to open a refrigerator by myself.

Do you really mean the Java plugin or do you have a problem with JavaScript?
In case of Java you may have to add a security exception.

Can't get Java to work on Safari Windows
Have downloaded latest Java for Windows, but doesn't work with Safari. Am running windows XP. Any help?
I'm not wrong. Java in Safari does not work for me and, judging by the posts in this forum, for the vast majority of Safari users on Windows. Replying "it works fine for me" is not a helpful response.

I get the same result for all Java applets with Safari. They all work fine in IE7 and FF2. And for all those telling me to download the plugin, if you had bothered to read my earlier post you would know that I have downloaded the plugin, which is no more than the latest JRE from Sun.

Mail and Safari don't work- Java cocoa plugin missing

I've been doing some java programming and while building classpaths and changing the default java version I did something bad: Neither Safari nor Mail work correctly. I always get the same error message:

Safari is the same as it was- faulty.
Mail can't even start as it says the version is too old for this OS...
Software update doesn't recognise the need to update the mail, I tried dowloading the mail update 1.0 but apparently its only for mac osx 10.5.6, so I can't install this one.
Do you have any other ideas?
Now I reckon I somehow need to find a way to update mail- do you know which update should i download? Perhaps it was a combined update? And since this didn't solve the problem do you know how can I reinstall java on my mac? -
I just installed OSX Mountian Lion, and ever since then I can not play youtube video's. I get the message of 'Blocked Plug-in' in the youtube screen. I have tried installing Adobe Flash Player. HTML 5, also tried enabling/disabling java, but nothing worked out. Is there any way I can play youtbe vieos on Safar. (It works fine with Google Chrmoe, only safari has problem)
If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
Try uninstalling the currently installled Flash plugin (required for most YouTube content) then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches -
Iv read most of the information that's come out recently on the security loop hole with Java on most browsers including Safari.
However, my job work site requires Java to do "anything" in the company web pages. If I disable Java or do any of the suggested items to keep Java from working then the company website won't work. Is there any way to get around this Java security problem until Apple gets the holes fixed?
I work for a company with over 100'000 employees so I'm not an isolated case.

The problem can only potentially happen when you visit a compromised site that attempts to launch a Java Web start application or applet. A remote attacker cannot target you just because Java is active - you must visit a site.
By the way, you may already know this but for the benefit of others reading, Java and JavaScript have nothing in common (other than the name). The flaw highlighted in the news recently only affects Java. -
Safari dosen´t work in Yosemite

I just upgraded to Yosemite a few days ago, and immediately noticed that Safari doesn't work properly.
It is almost impossible to write in the search/url-bar, and if i get to write nothing happens.
Command+n doesn´t do anything, and new window from meny doesn´t do anything.
Is this bugs in Yosemite, or is it something els?

Does anybody else have any issues getting Java to work in Safari 3 for Windows?
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xmlSame here. I just get a window with a exclamation point infront of the Java Mug icon.
Without Java working, I can't really use Safari under Windows (I use Java for stock market monitoring, etc).
Hopefully I can get them working, otherwise it's back to Firefox when I'm running windows (still Safari in Mac OS X though ) -
Since I've upgraded my new Mini to Leopard, Java doesn't work in Safari (or Firefox, for that matter). Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I get a Windows 7 error "Safari has stopped working". I've tried a number of things (e.g., uninstalling and installing Safari, re-installing Windows 7, disabling plug-ins, disabling Java, disabling Javascript, uninstalling itunes, ran CCleaner, Malabytes, etc.). I'm practically running barebones in terms of running apps. But, nothing seems to get rid of this error. I would try Restore before I saw the error, but the earlier dates for restoring are missing, so I cannot restore the computer to an earlier date before I noticed the problem.
The browser works fine for about 5 minutes, and then gives the error. What can I do to get rid of this pesky problem? I like Safari and want to continue using it, but I am at wits end...

Any thing else to try before giving up on using this browser??Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
Then close Safari. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Now reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

So i've been using safari for windows for a couple of year with no issues. A couple of days ago i tried to open safari and a pop came up saying that it isnt working properly. I checked for any updates and there wasnt any, i then uninstalled safari and installed it again. The same thing is happening.
Has anyone got any idea what is going on?? or is anyone having the same issues??
I've now installed chrome as my browser. I did like safari thoughYeaaaaa that's a matter of opinion and I don't share it.
It's margianlly better than firefox and it burns CPU and ram like no tomorrow.
