Safari-Java-Webinar

When trying to join a webinar I get an error message that Safari can not find Java.
I deleted Java and reloaded it.
Chrome does not have a problem accessing Java.
I am on a PC with windows Vista

Thank you Linc, but I tried the 32bit before and it is not working.
I remember that I was able to find a solution months ago.. it was something related to the permission of Java.
I see that Safari is not asking permission to run the Java Agent and I want to make the Safari to ask that permission but I don't know what to configure.
I already changed to 32bit and restarted but it doesnt work for me

    Wie kann ich beim Ipad 4 im Safari Java aktivieren?

    You can't. The iPad does not natively support Java. You can try VirtualChrome, the only third-party app/service I know of that says it supports Java. In essence it takes control of a virtual OS on the company's servers, something you can do yourself if you have a desktop computer that can run Java.

    It is not possible at the moment. We can only hope that it will be available in the future.

  • Spellcheck in Safari java applets no longer working

    I just switched my Powermac G4 to Leopard from Tiger, updated everything (all software and java via software updater) and now check spelling while typing doesn't work anymore in Java applets, Why is this? is this a Safari 3 or Leopard issue?
    any ideas or suggestions would be helpfully in fixing this issue for me... thanks in advance!

    I think I've solved the problem... but I believe it not to be the best solution, seeing as I had to use J2SE 1.4.2 instead of J2SE 5.0 to solve the issue of enabling spellchecking for java applets.
    Anyone knows a way in which I can get spellchecking enabled using J2SE 5.0 ?
    Thanks again.

  • Using Safari & Java from Spain

    To anyone who may have knowledge of Java/Safari in Spain or Europe.
    I am currently studying abroad in Spain and i have noticed that my computer and others have been having troubles using the Java Script for Facebook, Yahoo, Pogo.com and other sources. We currently run a slightly out of date wireless network based off PCs; However, PCs are having the same issues.
    Does anyone know if Spain or Europe doesn't use Java as much. And does anyone know if Proxies are affect the use of Java and if so, where can i enter proxy information to fix the issue.
    Thank you to anyone who replies.

    I was thinking about my problem some more and i was
    wondering if you or anyone knew how to set proxies
    for Java. For example, yes, you can set proxies under
    settings/network and you can set proxies in Firefox,
    iChat, and more. Is there a way for Java?
    Java is not a protocol, it's an application framework. It communicates using protocols in your ip stack. You can set proxies for those protocols. I suspect you mean javascript, but the same applies there, except that it's all http. I don't want to get into rudimentary aspects of networking, I'm sure you can find very good references.
    What's really interesting is that you seem to be implying that there is some sort of censorship of web sites in Spain - just like in China. And that you're looking for a what's known as a circumventor. I know that there was a recent ruling in the Spanish counrts that judges could block web sites they found to be a threat to national defense. Is this perhaps what you're seeing?

  • "Tiger" Safari, Java, and etrade.

    I was using the etrade "MarketTrader" software, a java application. It worked somewhat OK (occassionally seizing up, etc.) on my old safari (version 1.2 or something like that), I just upgraded to OSX Tiger and safari 2.0.1 and it doesn't work at all. Any ideas?

    Undertow - Here's the deal so far (I've only been using them for a week):
    MarketTrader is kinda cruddy with Mac. My previous posts detail my problems with various versions of Safari and MT. (FYI Internet Explorer for Mac crashes when I try to load MarketTrader). You can get quotes for the most part but must enter orders via your browser, which takes longer. I upgraded to pro, they apparently just came out with a Mac version at least in the US, I don't know about Canada. It works great.
    Keep in mind that I am not a "computer guy". I only have a passing understanding of what Java is, for instance. As far as I'm concerned it's when you have little crap in your browser that you can move around without going to a different page. How is it different than, say, Shockwave? I'll be darned if I know. Perhaps somebody with a deeper understanding of how all this stuff works would be able to make MarketTrader perform better. Also, I never called E*trade tech support. They might have a solution.
    Etrade in general has been pretty good so far. Only problem I have really noticed is hold times when you call them. I've heard about problems in getting checks out of them. I have not tried to do this yet becuase I have only lost money with them
    Good luck.

  • Safari java ads removal

    hello,
    is there a way of stopping safari from opening ad web pages without disabling java from preferences?
    I have already run f-secure test to check if I have flashback but it said no (via terminal commands that they have on their web page)... but the problem is there...

    1. If adware is installed without your knowledge,
        download  free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
        http://www.adwaremedic.com
       Install , open,  and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
       Once scanning and removing the adware is done, quit the app by clicking AdMedic in the menubar
        and selecting “Quit AdwareMedic”.
    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
        Turn those off and try Safari.
    3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Press “Remove all website data” button.

  • Safari & Java 7

    I have installed Java update 17 and still it is not working with Safari.  Is apple still blocking Java?  Or should I be looking for another problem?  If this is still being blocked by apple, Should I use another browser? Or should I just go back to windows?  I have at least 3 sites I use on a regular basis that will not function properly now on my Mac using Safari.  I have had to log on with a old windows XP laptop to use these sites.

    Uninstall Java SE 8 and try reinstalling SE 7.

  • Safari / Java Permission

    Hi,
    I'm facing an issue with VPN Aventail and Hyperras connecting using a Macbook.
    Seems that Safari is not asking permission to install an Java Agent and it is not installing so I cannot access the Web VPN.
    When I go to other 2 macs and do the same thing, it requires me to type the Admin usersname and password before install the java agent.
    Do you have any idea and how to force Safari (or java) to ask permission before execute it ?
    I was looking for the KeyChains, but there is nothing there.. the mac is pretty new, no software installed.
    thank you

  • Safari Java Date Implementation

    Dear, I'm having this very strange problem at work today concerning dates. It seems that any dates beyond the 28th of February 2034 are being miscalculated and this happens only in Safari. It seems that starting from this date, the system calculates the date minus 1. I have absolutely no clue why this is or how this is possible. Is there something different after the 28th of February 2034? Maybe it has something to do with a leap year or am I doing something wrong in my javascript code? Any advice would be highly appreciated. I'll leave a code example below illustrating this problem. Pay attention to date 4 and 5, these one will produce 11th of October instead of 12th of October.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function TestDates() {
    var date1 = '10/12/2010';
    var date2 = '10/12/2020';
    var date3 = '10/12/2030';
    var date4 = '10/12/2040';
    var date5 = '10/12/2050';
    alert(date1);
    alert(date2);
    alert(date3);
    alert(date4);
    alert(date5);
    var dat1 = new Date(date1);
    var dat2 = new Date(date2);
    var dat3 = new Date(date3);
    var dat4 = new Date(date4);
    var dat5 = new Date(date5);
    alert(dat1);
    alert(dat2);
    alert(dat3);
    alert(dat4);
    alert(dat5);
    </script>

    I assume you meant Javascript and not Java here, but I am having the same problem too.
    I have found a workaround. Bascially you  just need to specify the time explicitly as well as the date. In your case, just append a " 00:00" (note the space) to your date strings in your constructor calls and the bug is avoided.
    Haven't tried it in Safari for Windows, but I can attest that the same bug occurs in the Mac version as well, so I hope my workaround will work in windows too.

  • Safari & Java security

    Iv read most of the information that's come out recently on the security loop hole with Java on most browsers including Safari.
    However, my job work site requires Java to do "anything" in the company web pages. If I disable Java or do any of the suggested items to keep Java from working then the company website won't work. Is there any way to get around this Java security problem until Apple gets the holes fixed?
    I work for a company with over 100'000 employees so I'm not an isolated case.
    Thanks for any hints what if anything I can do.

    If you're accessing company pages on the intranet you have nothing to be worried about (unless people in your company are hosting malicious web pages, which I doubt )
    The problem can only potentially happen when you visit a compromised site that attempts to launch a Java Web start application or applet. A remote attacker cannot target you just because Java is active - you must visit a site.
    By the way, you may already know this but for the benefit of others reading, Java and JavaScript have nothing in common (other than the name). The flaw highlighted in the news recently only affects Java.

  • Safari Java Problems

    Hi-
    I've been attempting to download some of the Adobe trails (Illustrator, PS, Flash, etc.) and I've noticed that they implemented a new Java download manager. Whenever I try to download something (through Safari) the Java window just sits at the grey coffee cup with the arrows around it. I've had it open for quite a while, much longer than the one minute that Adobe says it should load in.
    Any help!?

    Well, I get a brief view at a page that says I'm being redirected and my download will start momentarily, and then the page goes blank, shrinks, and I'm left with a URL in the Toolbar of that new, smaller window for the download.
    So if the new, smaller window has no Toolbar visible, reveal that using the View menu, and that URL will be the one to paste into the Downloads window. For example, here are the URLs for the English versions of Irritator, Photoshop, and Flash:
    http://trials.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/Illustrator/CS4/Mac/ADBEILSTCS4_LS1.dmg
    http://trials.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/Photoshop/CS4/Mac/ADBEPHSPCS4_LS1.dmg
    http://trials.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/FlashPro/CS4/Mac/ADBEFLPRCS4_LS1.dmg
    Or, if you want to save time downloading these, you can order a DVD of all the CS4 trials.

  • Safari Java Isnt working!

    I wanted to post pictures on Facebook, which uses Java, and for some reason Java isnt working! I uploaded the new java just like technical support told me to do, but it still doesn't work. Please help me!

    Hi
    very basic first step : in Safari-Preferences-Security , make sure that Java is enabled.
    If no improvement, quit Safari & move the file /users/your user name/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist to the desktop & try again.
    still no Java? try Safari & facebook in another user account; if you only have one, you can make a new one in System Preferences-Accounts, just click the + button at bottom left.

  • Safari + Java

    I have used Safari for many years.  I watch the Daily show. In the last two days I cannot watch the show.
    It says, Needs Adobe Flash Player.  - I downloaded the updated Flash Player from Mac.
    it says, Also needs Java script enabled.
    What is this and how do I do it?
    I have Lion.

    From your Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
    Make sure both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript are selected.
    And since you are runining v10.7.3 Lion, you may need to download and install this update > Java for OS X Lion Update 1
    Make sure your browsers are closed before installing that update.
    As for Flash. Sometimes it's necessary to uninstall the plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
    Make sure and uninstall the current copy of Flash first.
    Then restart your Mac, launch Safari. Try the Daily show.
