Safari keeps crashing on ipad - how to resolve?
I have a 1st gen iPad with all OS software and app software updated to the latest versions and Safari will not open - every time I start the app, it crashes immediately. I've tried restoring the ipad to factory settings and then restoring from backup with no luck. Also, any application that uses Safari (like youtube, maps, etc) crashes as well.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a resolution? So I'm trying to repeat the experience today at home. Its perfect. I can load all sorts of sites like cnn and wunderground that other people over at http://ipad.bigresource.com/Safari-keeps-crashing-g9DKUt5Lu.html are reporting crash safari. I've loaded and played the ipod, load photos and maps and buzzed around all over the place and its rock solid, lots of multitasking and its now OK, Touch wood..
I wonder if its the 3G network when I'm on thre train travelling - that's when it occurs mostly.
Ah ha Facebook just crashed. When I go back to Safari Facebook it does not recall that I was logged on a minute ago, but it does recall my email. Lets try again.
If I click on a friends name to go to their page CRASH. Reload and I'm not logged in any more ! Cookie issue ?
This time I'll try "keep me logged in" option......clicked on Friend again CRASH
Reload - empty Safari screen appears CRASH... Reload same CRASH. Reload - all previous pages are gone.
Facebook, it loads and I'm logged in - Keep option works.Click on Friends OK.
Seems to be with multiple pages open.. lets try 6 pages open no worries.
Loading lots of applications and again it is fine !!!

HHow do I keep Safari from crashing?
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset -
today is sat, i was going through list of last sunday to bookmark any items i may still have use for, when safari crashes, and when i relaunch it, sundays list is gone with the exception of the top ten things in the list, this is way too arbitrary. the history is supposed to e for oneweek no more, but now onecant even rely on that, i cannot understand this crapshoot when it comes to what will e remembered and what wont....
Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings. Not a bod thing to do every week or so.

Ios 8.1.1 safari keeps crashing on iPad 4
multiple website fail to load correctly, giving a message in the left upper corner: "This webpage is reloaded because there was a problem"
And some websites even makes Safari on iOS crash.
Very very annoying update by Apple!!!!Hi krijtje,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the recent iOS update. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact scope of the issue you are describing. If you are having issues across Safari (pages not loading, app crashing) after the iOS 8.1.1 update, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after a reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persists before restoring your data. You may find the following article helpful:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Safari keeps crashing every time I try to open a link from a different application, i.e. Mail. The trouble report says that some problem occurs with libcooliris.dylib plug-in. Can any one help?
Thanks!Dear Linc,
Thank you for the advice, John Blanchard1 and Linc Davis
As suggested in your reference thread I removed "/Library/Printers/hp/PDEs/hpPostScriptPDE.plugin" and the problem has been resolved.
I am guessing the the plug-in for the hp printers got corrupted and effected every thing, or became unsuitable when I installed an Apple update. I would be most grateful if you can confirm how the problem was coursed so I can understand and learn from this experiance.

Safari keeps crashing on my iPad!
Safari keeps crashing and I lose all my stored data. It happens very often...at least a hundred times in the last two weeks. I wonder if Apple is aware if this issue on their iPad? I am not running any apps, just one window in Safair. What gives Apple?
You aren't talking to Apple here. This is a user to user technical help forum.
It is possible that Safari has a bug in handling the web site that you are using. If this is the case then you will constantly have problems with that site. If so, report the problem to Apple at http:// www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Some troubleshooting things that you could try are:
Restarting your iPad, resetting your iPad, clearing cookies and data in Safari, etc. -
I'm using ipad 2 4.3.3 and the apple's app like mail, ipod safari keep crashing? extremely annoying? any solutions?
Press the off and home button together for about ten secondsuntil the apple reappears. Ignore the slider. This will not affect any of your data. It is just like rebooting your computer

SAFARI keeps crashing on my Imac.
I have checked for virus software and appear to have none.
I have checked the automatic safari address that loads, which mysteriously had a ,http/ with a coma infront of the default website address to load on safari. I have changed this so the default website is back to apple without the , before the address.
Can anyone suggest what I do next. I keep getting an error message after 3-10 seconds. And have you loaded any optimizers/add-ons/accelerators/anti-malware tools/etc or similar?
Any (free or paid) product that was advertised as helpful?
Any Safari extensions loaded? -
IPad 1 safari keeps crashing!!!!
I have had an apple iPad 1st generation and safari keeps crashing. I have deleted cookies, restarted it, stop apps running in the background and still crashes, very VERY frustrating and I am not paying £500 for a product to behave like this!
Try restoring the device now. If closing all apps and clearing Safari doesn't work, I think that's your next step. Make sure that you backup first so that you can restore from the backup.

Safari keeps crashing on my iPhone 6 plus 128GB
safari keeps crashing on my iPhone 6 plus 128GB. Its done this since I bought it in Nov 2014. I've rebooted, soft reboot. Any suggestions?
Hi purpleoz,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that Safari on your iPhone is not functioning as you would expect. In this situation, there are a few different steps I would recommend.
First, I would recommend clearing your history and website data as described in the attached article.
Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
After the data has been cleared, I would recommend closing Safari completely as described in the next attached article.
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
After Safari has been closed, reset your iPhone again. After the reset, open Safari fresh and use it as you normally would. If the issue continues, please let me know.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

IOS4 - Safari keeps crashing since 3GS updated
Since updating last week, Safari keeps crashing.
Typical symptoms:
1. web page 'disappears' when loaded, resulting in a relaunch of safari each time.
2. Keeps on forgetting Passwords.
Apple, Help!Q) What's worst than your I.T support asking if you've 're-booted' when your PC crashes?
A) Apple tech support suggesting you make a fresh install!
Worst still, they even denied knowledge of any problems with OS4, so I googled it on one of the many iPad on display in front of him! final response? we'll have to wait until Apple make a statement.

Ipad1 with ios5.01 - safari keeps crashing; have rebooted; help!
I upgraded my Ipad 1 (16gb 3g model) to the new ios and then updated to the latest version of the softwsre. Ever since, Safari keeps crashing - virtually every time I use it. Have rebooted but to no avail. Makes what was a fabulous web browser virtually unusable. Anyone else suffering from the same problem?
My first gen iPad crashes occasionally in Safari, and on this site it sometimes just logs me out instead of crashing. You could try clearing Safari's cache (Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History) and then close Safari completely and see if that helps : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
