Safari keeps telling me I am not connected to internet

When I open Excite with Safari, it is fine. However if I attempt to open a new tab I get the message that "You are not connected to Internet." I am connected because when I use Firefox everything is fine. I recently upgraded to SnowLeopard and this is when the problems began.

Hi Lucy,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to Other forms. Delete .excite.com Then from the same menu select the Security tab and click "Show Cookies". Delete all Excite cookies then click Done.
Relaunch Safari. Navigate to the Excite page then try a new tab.
It might also help to empty the Safari cache. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Empty Cache..
Relaunch Safari.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • I'm connected to the Wi-Fi network OK but safari and email say I'm not connected to internet

I'm connected to the Wi-Fi network OK but safari and email say I'm not connected to internet so nothing happens.

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Syncing-BB desktop manager keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet.

New at my BB 8350i.  When I try to sync with email/calander/contacts, I keep getting the message "computer not connected to the internet, make sure you have an internet connection and try again."  I AM connected, and I've tried everything I can think of.  Adding router address manually, diconnecting bluetooth and wi-fi on my bb.  I'm at a stand still.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm using Outlook.  I've synced other devices in the past with no issues...frustrated.

Please read the FAQ about the desktop manager.

  • Mac OS 10.2.8 Sherlock keep telling me I'm not connected to the internet?

I have been trouble shooting for a friend who is using 10.2.8; his Sherlock will work if you type in something to look for, but if you try to start by clicking on the internet icon, a message comes up on his computer that says he's not connected to the internet. Any ideas?

    Nancy:
You have probably already figured that after you click the internet button you have to enter what you want to find in the search field and click the magnifying glass to have websites show up.

  • Lightroom keeps telling me I am not connected to the internet.

Won't search for updates, cannot sign in etc.
I am connected to the internet with other online programs running.
Any ideas? Could I have somehow changed settings to disable connection to internet in the program?
    I am using windows 7

We have seen some instances on Windows where a user’s settings do not have TLS support enabled and in this case the user will be unable to connect to certain servers. This can be fixed by:
    1. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    3. In the Security category, check Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, and Use TLS 1.2 (if available).
    4. Note It is important to check consecutive versions. Not selecting consecutive versions (e.g. checking TLS 1.0 and 1.2, but not checking 1.1) could result in connection errors.
    5. Click OK
    Hope that helps.

  • Why is itunes telling me I'm not connected to internet?

My friend gave me her ipod classic mini, so I plugged it in, and Itunes told me to restore it.  So I clicked on it, but for some reason Itunes thinks I'm not connected to the internet.  I checked out the store, and I'm connected, obviously.  I've checked the firewall, and nothing is keeping it from working.  So what else can I do?  I really want to use this ipod...

Disable the firewall and any security software, then try again.

  • HT4314 I am trying to log into the Game Centre App and it keeps telling me I could not connect to Game Centre Server.....it has been like this for 4 days.  What's going on?

I have been trying to log onto the Game Centre App to try and combine my son's Hay Day accounts (he somehow has 2 of them now although we used the same Apple ID when we set up his new iPad mini at Christmas).  It keeps saying that we cannot access the server.  Anyone else have this problem?
Also, why is it that when I set up his account on the new device it game me a different user name?

    You can try here:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
it could be a Apple problem since some other uses have reported the same problem today.
