Safari - Large Font Bug?

Since upgrading to Mavericlks Ive had an anoying bug in safari.
I use a larger than normal font , but if you use the mouse swipe to go back to a previous page the font reverts to the default normal size.

  • Safari Browser Font Bug

The following link loads perfectly in Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 with all fonts included -
    http://www.mydesign2print.com/product.php?pid=1&TempId=150&Temtype=M&FromTemp=ye s
It just doesn't seem to load fonts in the center column with the custom card designed - in Safari Browser - you can zoom in and check. It has the same problem in the Safari 3 and Safari 4. Safari gives error with all custom cards on this site. Sometimes it works after refreshing over and over while sometimes it doesn't. It never loads the first time though.

No did't add any new fonts.
Here is a screen shot of the font. I can increase the size in order to read it but I dont like the font and I cant change it.

  • WEB Forms do not display properly with windows 95 LARGE fonts desktop setting

    Hi,
We are using WEB forms 6.0 patch level 6 (We tried 6i but had too many bugs with it, we prefer to wait until at least a couple of patches are out, installation was a VERY painful experience for us)
We still have the following problem with WEB FORMS deployed on win95 desktops with LARGE FONTS destktop settings: The forms are not displayed correctly, sometimes there are no scroll bars, resizing a window gives weird results, part of the forms become inaccesible, some forms are blank, etc...
Can you verify or confirm that you have the same kind of problems ? We use jinitiator 1.1.18.
Is it fixed with 6i ? Is it fixed wit jinit 1.1.27 ?
We develop in smal fonts on win95 and recompile under solaris before deploying.
    Thanks

Thank you all for your fast asnwers. The "Use hardware acceleration when available" was the problem, I disabled it and I will post a message on my site about this.
The site is on-line in the same aspect since 2005, modifiyng the whole site to fit with Firefox11's default setting is not a good option. At that moment, placing a tabel (alligned to the center of the page) and puting in it the thumbnails with links generated by ExpressThumbnailCreator, than manually adding the description in the HTML view of FrontPage was the simplyest way possible to make the site appear properly on my 800*600 px resolution I used then. Of course, I upgraded my hardware and software since then, but the site remained mostly unchanged (except the index and a few files). I know it's time for a new version of the site but... my web-design knowledges are limited to basic HTML.

  • Need help on setting large fonts on iphone 3g s

I have looked at the new iphone 3g s, and think I would like it very muuch. However, since I am somewhat visually impaired, I need large fonts on ALL categories on the phone, e-mail, contacts, notes, etc.
I have looked at the phone at my local Apple store, but cannot find a way for the fonts to become larger. I go to settings, set the font to GIANT, but then NOTHING changes when I then go back to contacts.
I have tried the Zoom program, but that seems too complicated. I currently own a Kindle, and I love it because I merely hit one button, and I have the availability of 6 DIFFERENT FONT SIZES. Why isn't this type of software available for the iphone?
I want to buy the iphone, but cannot unless I can read all data on the phone easily. ANY HELP OUT THERE IS APPRECIATED.
    Dan

Copied from this link regarding the Zoom option.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#accessibility.zoom
Many iPhone applications let you zoom in and out specific elements. For example, you can double-tap or use the pinch gesture to expand webpage columns in Safari. Zoom is a special accessibility feature that lets you magnify the entire screen of any application you’re using to help you see what’s on the display.
If the Zoom feature seems to complicated for you, then you don't have any other option with the iPhone. More than likely it would not seem so complicated to you after using it for several days or for a week or two. The iPhone can be returned for payment credit within 30 days after the purchased date, less a 10% restocking fee. And the AT&T contract can be cancelled within the same 30 days with no penalty.

  • Is there a "Large Fonts" feature in OS X? I can't seem to find one.

    Hi all,
My mother just got an iMac 27". It is running at 2560x1440. However, at this resolution even on the big monitor the menu bars are quite as is the font on the menus. In windows which she used to use and which I use, there's a "Large Fonts" feature which increases the size of the font on menu bars, and the button on the window manager.
However, I can't seem to find this feature on the mac. I increased the cursor size. I increased the default size of window content in safari etc. And can incr. the size of the dock. But no where can I find a "large font" feature. I can drop the resolution, but this is obviously a bad solution as this just makes everything fuzzy and ugly. Is there any way to preserve resolution and incr. menubar sizes/font sizes? The zoom feature is does not have acceptable behavior to conveniently incr. menu size (most of the time it zooms the menus right out of the frame, and the PIP mode is also poor)
Any ideas? If there is no OS X built in solution, Is there a 3rd part solution to this?

Well...it's fuzzy in the way that when you run an LCD on a non-native resolution (e.g. 1600x900 on 2560x1440) the text isn't sharp anymore. It's very notably ugly and pixelated. Windows would simply enlarge the font size but keep the native resolution which made the text nice looking even at higher resolution.
Hrm. This is very frustrating. Kinda wished I had discovered this before the return period. Seems like OS X has done a very half hearted accessibility. Just decreasing the resolution to increase the size seems kinda lazy. Both Windows, and even many linux window managers have features to adjust this for people with visual impairment without having to sacrifice the resolution. I suppose I could always install Windows on the Mac :-/
Is there not even a 3rd party solution or 3rd party mac window manager that might do this that anyone is aware of? My search turned up empty...
    Much appreciated.

  • Iphone 4 goes into large font

suddenly, when iphone 4 turned on, it goes into a large font, and therefore i can't access the whole screen, and sometimes can't sign on access apps, use phone, because the font size is so  large that i only seen 30% of the sceen
why, how, and how to get back to  normal

Looks like it is a software bug. Happened to me too. I did turn zoom on many days earlier just to see how it works. Then suddenly many days later it went into super giant font mode and I could not get back to accessibility mode - thans Stedman for the double tapping with 3 fingers (I had tried that several times and it did not seem to work on the main menu, but it did finally work on the general setting menu).
I guess the answer is to just not use the zoom feature

I have had my iPad2 for about ten days and have just two issues with it. I would like to use a larger font in Safari's bookmark menu because it is not detecting my touch easily especially around the left third of the menu bar. Secondly, I have my older Epson printer set up with my Airport Express for wireless printing and my iPad2 cannot find the printer. I saw that HP is the only manufacturer that is listed with compatible printers. Is anyone else using other printers for Airprint or will I need to buy an App for wireless printing through the iPad2?
On the font size issue, I just pinch-zoom the text to make it larger.
On the printer issue, you might try the following script to "jailbreak" non-HP printers so that they work with Airprint.

  • Noob needs help using/managing large font collection in os10

Hope this is the correct forum for this question. I'm a os10 noob starting at a new, small startup design-oriented biz (6-7 macs) that needs to manage fonts - 100s, over a 1000. Other places I've worked used Font Reserve and I'm familiar with that program but I never knew if it came with os10 or you had to go buy it, and if you needed to buy a separate copy for each computer?
I'm trying to help get this biz set-up, but I know NOTHING about font usage/set-up in os10. I've always used ATM Deluxe4.6 (os9) and have over 2000 fonts nicely arranged in sets (took me an entire day, way back when). Would love to transfer these arranged sets into os10, if possible.
Is there a built-in font mgmt in os10? Is it any good for large collections? Is Font Reserve a good program for large font collections?
I don't even know where os10 stores fonts or the right questions to ask. Pls point me in the right direction!
    TIA

Fontbook is ok for dealing with a handful of fonts on an occasional basis, but for pro design work you should run, don't walk, to: http://www.linotype.com/fontexplorerX/
FontExplorerX beats the pants of any other font management tool I've used on the mac after many years of ATM, Suitcase & Font Agent Pro. FEX looks and feels like an "iTunes for Fonts" - it's fast, stable, clean and simple to use and best of all for a small biz (like me) - it's FREE! :O

  • Can't figure how to get larger fonts in terminal

I am new and very happy to say I've got Arch/XFCE/nfs working on network and soon to work on Samba but how in the wide wide world of sports can I get larger font on my terminal when in XFCE?

I too have experienced the "agony of defeat" with fonts and xterm.  Here is how I use to launch my xterm:
xterm -fa "andale:size=18" -bg black -fg white -geometry 80x25 -tn xterm-color -sl 1000
    * The key is the "size" parameter after the font (fa)mily name.  I was using True Type fonts and was using "andale" in this case.  I believe the size field should be applicable to whichever font you choose.  Alternatively, I believe you can pass the "-fs" option to xterm to accomplish the same thing as ":size".
    For example,
    xterm -fa "andale" -fs "18"
will accomplish the same text size as in the first example.  Just try different font size (fs) values, and see which values will actually scale for that font.
One caveat, I believe the "fa" option for xterm is limited to the freetype library fonts.

  • Acrobat 9 - hyper link issue and print in larger font

I am using Acrobat 9 and have two issues :
When I try to convert a web page to pdf file i.e. through the print command in FF, the text links are there in the new file but without the underlying hyper links ?
How can I print the files with a larger font. It is okay for seeing it on monitor but too small for me when I print.
    thanks.

Do as AbhigyanModi suggests or use the Adobe Acrobat plugin that should be in your web browser if you're using Internet Explorer. This happened because you "printed" to convet to PDF. You have to use either AbhigyanModi method or use the Internet Explorer plugin to save active hyperlinks.
In terms of the font size -- You can set up the web capture preferences first. Explore the menu that AbhigyanModi suggests or use the built in help. It's there for a reason.

  • Fontheight problem with large fonts, probably Table related

I use large fonts (size 22) and some websites that use tables as a layout tool do not display correctly, for example [http://www.khanacademy.org/#browse http://www.khanacademy.org/#browse]
    or
    [http://youtube.com http://youtube.com]
The bottom half of the font inside tables is overlayed by the line below and the only way the page can be read is by using View->Style->No Style
It looks like the table height doesn't take the font height into account, as soon as the minimum font size size is above 14 it becomes progressively unreadable.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • Font is shown very small when using IE Tab and Windows Display is selected to show larger fonts

I'm on Windows 7 - 64 bit and I set my Windows display to show larger fonts (from Control Panel, Display, then choose Larger Fonts). Now all pages show bigger fonts, except when I use IE Tab.
I use IE Tab so that I can open my Microsoft Dynamics CRM website on Firefox; however the fonts look way too small; it is even smaller than when the Display Setting was set to use normal size fonts.
Tried to change to use smaller resolution, it didn't work. Zooming-in is very slow on Firefox, so it is not an option for working on the webpage. Tried changing the default fonts on Firefox, however the page is still always opened with the very small fonts.
From Firefox I also unchecked the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" (from Tools, Options, Content, Advanced), but it still doesn't fix it.
Played around with my Firefox IE Tab setting, but no luck.
I downgraded my Firefox to version 3.5.9 to use the older IE tab, but still not fixed yet.
Is there a solution for this? Thanks in advanced for your help,

    Hi...
    Thanks for asking....
As I put in my post before, I include template0 in my template1, as seen in template1 (AHM001):
    <af:pageTemplateDef var="attrs">
    *<af:pageTemplate viewId="/template/AHM000.jspx">*
I use AHM000 inside AHM001. I use this approach to build many template based on one basic design.
Actually, I don't think the problem is in page template usage because as I submitted paralel to Metalink, I've already not called template0 in template1 but I copy template0's contents to template1.
Unfortunately, page designer show small view and below error messages still occured.

  • URL Links in Guided Procedures appear in large fonts.

    Hello Gurus,
While navigating through a guided procedure application I had developed using Web Dynpro I noticed that all the URL Links appeared in a large font. I tried switching the font size to small but this made no difference in the views. Then I noticed that throughout the entire GP administration interface all the links were in the same larger font. Is there some configuration file where this property can be changed. It is affecting the look and feel of the application.
    Thanks,
    Luis

Thanks Sue, I was afraid of that!
The section of GB help on adding URLs says you can view via iTunes or DVD, and launch the website by clicking the link, hence my confusion.
It's a shame, because that would be a great feature in making sales or marketing DVD's - any idea why the disconnect, and do you know if Apple plans to add that feature?
    Thanks again!
