Safari linking to ***********

Hello,
I am a very upset Apple customer who has been having this issue for quite a few months now.
When I use Safari on numerous occasions when signing into websites I end up being linked to numerous *********** websites and one in particular which I have reported to the IWF as I believe it contains child abuse images and videos. I also have videos that play on these other tabs and it is highly embarrassing. Strangely, it also shows up on my Internet history and I have had disagreements with family members because after checking my Internet history I initially thought it was one of them who was visiting the websites.
I have no idea if this is someone who is using the Wifi I am using but to be honest it appears to be a Safari problem as when I used Google Chrome I did not have these problems.
Not only is this highly embarrassing but this leaves Apple customers open to being arrested if indeed the content has images and videos of children.
I have searched the Internet for help and as far as I have got is to reset the device and start over which I will do in due course. I am not expecting any reply back from Apple Support but please can this be looked into as lots of people are having this problem and it is affecting my iPhone too.

I had got similiar problem , sort it out, browsing with disabled javascript, but after couple of weeks I found that certain web sites can enable java script in safari its self, specially with smart app banner . That I'm on beginning again.

Can't launch applications from Safari link

When I try to open any external application through the Safari link, I'm redirected to the Safari "Favourites" tab and the app fails to launch.
For instance, on clicking on a magnet link, the default torrent client(uTorrent in my case) should launch. Or when clicking on the "View in the Mac App Store" link for any application on the apple website, the app store launch. However, instead of launching the application, safari redirects me to the favourites page.
I understand certain apps like Candy Crush were automatically redirecting users to the app store and apple resolved the issue in the updated OS, but is there a way to filter which apps safari can launch, maybe even if it asks for a password?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

Can I change the icon for a safari link to a picture?

I'm saving safari links, I'd like to use the picture of what the link is to as the icon as opposed to the default. Is this possible?

Well, this is a yes and no answer.
Yes, you could change an icon, But no, RoboHelp won't make it easy. What you will end up doing is massaging the JavaScript code for the WebHelp output. This particular change isn't really for the faint of heart. Oh, and you would likely have to change it each time you generate your WebHelp output.
I would encourage you (and others) to consider submitting a Wish Form to ask Adobe to put this on their radar for a future version.

After iOS 8 update, Safari links dont work, Safari resets my ipad or just crashes

The title pretty much says it all. Currently on 8.0.2 but this OS *****. I often find myself unable to activate links on web pages. I tap and nothing happens (except the occasion zooming in). Please advise.

ryan194 For got to say do what i did and go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and fill out a bug form on this like I did and exsplain that it limits the usability of safari since can't no longer read pages do to no zoom.
This really has messed up people with vision disability access to the iPhone browser.

How to have Safari links always open in same window

I've been researching how to have Safari always open links in the same window, but it appears this can't be done? I've seen this third party app, but am afraid of installing something that doesn't come from the app store because it might harm my macbook. Does anyone have any thoughts about how to have links always open in the same window? Or how to find out if I can trust this app:

Can't share Safari link via Twitter on iPhone5

Hi all,
I've just upgraded to an iPhone5, latest iOS (6.1.4) and restored my old iPhone 4 set-up via iCloud back-up. Everything's fine so far, except for my Twitter account. It works fine, until I try to share a page I've opened in Safari via Safari Twitter share button. I just get a message telling me 'Cannot send tweet [link details] because the connection to Twitter failed'.
I can RT and send Tweets, I'm signed in to Twitter via the iPhone app and via Safari. If I check my Safari settings, there doesn't appear to be anything I can set or change to sort things out. In my Twitter settings, I notice there are only two apps listed under 'Allow these apps to use your account' (and one of them, bizarrely, is Twitter!). There doesn't seem to be any way to add an app to the list that Twitter can use. What's annoying is that on my iPhone 4 there were a whole bunch of apps that I could use with Twitter.
Restoring from my old phone back-up should have simply transferred everything over as it was. That's what's happened with everything else I've checked. I'm guessing, only guessing, that my problem might have something to do with how Twitter is integrated into Safari in iOS 6 in a way it wasn't before.
The only other thing that could affect this is the fact that, because I was on an iPhone 4, I didn't upgrade to iOS 6, sticking with the final iOS 5 instead. Even so, I had no warnings or prompts telling me this might be a problem when I upgraded.
Sorry for involved explanation, but if anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

Thanks. It turns out the solution is simpler, but extremely annoying. Despite being signed into Twitter on my twitter up and being able to use Twitter in every way possible except for sharing, it turns out that I had to be signed on on my phone via my web browser version of Twitter for it to recognise that I was connected to Twitter. It makes no sense, and also means that the transefr between iPhone 4G and iPhone 5 is not quite as thorough as it wants us to believe, because everything was OK on my previous phone. Although I must confess I don't remember logging in via my browser on that - it was some years ago though.
So, resolved, and perhaps a minor irritation - but one of those times when you wonder if things could be a little more intuitive.

Can't sign into my Apple Youtube app (the app that Safari links to when you click on a Youtube video). Ive tried the 2 step verification method and tried signing in with my gmail and the password given for the app- doesnt work? What do I do?

Ive tried followinf a number of posts on using the 2 step verification method- none of it works. Please I need help with this, thanks.

Also forgot to mention- i can log in with Google's Youtube app- the problem is Safari doesnt link to this app. So if anyone knows how to get Safari to link to Google's Youtube app youd also solve this problem for me.

Spotlight search web frozen safari links

When i use spotlight search on iOS to search the web, after clicking on the web search link it opens safari in google search results page. The links (be they the search resul links to websites, or the 'web, images, videos, etc' tab links, appear static and do not react to any finger taps in the screen. The only way to het a link to work is to refresh the page, amd search manually. But from spotlight search, all i get is a static screen similar to as if it was a screenshot image, posing as a search result page.

There is no edit button to edit my bad spelling on the original post here. Apple also have made a boob as the first post has no edit after psting. But comments do!

Why does Safari link to 'undefined'?

Hey guys, hope you can help!
So when I'm browsing with Safari for Mac (Version 7.0.6 (9537.78.2)), if I click a link, it will occasionally replace the last section of the URL with the word 'undefined' wreaking havoc. For example, I just clicked the 'main page' link on Wikipedia, the URL at the top changed to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/main_page
Then, before the page loads, it changes to:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undefined]
It happens with all sorts of sites (Apple's included). And I'm sick of seeing 404 pages!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Email Safari link, link appears below signature in Mail?

Since updating to Yosemite, I'm finding that when I email a link from Safari (Shift-Cmd-I), the URL appears in the email that is created below the signature, and I can't find a way to change that behavior?

Do you have the option set to place all attachments at the end of the message (Edit menu, Attachments)?
I don't know if that is what is happening, just a guess.
By pasting in a HyperLink, you are creating an attachmnt. Email is purely text-based. Anything not pure text is an attachment.

Safari links not working

Im running 3.1 and Ive noticed that a lot of link are not working. I end up having to click and open in new window. What can be done?

How exactly do I uninstall Safari Stand? I didnt see anything in the Application Support folder.
Also, I went to Help and Installed Plugins (Safari) and I see many plugins there.
Very Important...Once I uninstall Stand and assuming that it corrects my issue, what other plugin can I use? I love Stand and would need a replacement.

Problem with Safari linking to outlook?

This Mac runs snow leopard developed, the user had it set up so that whenever you open safari it would go directly to Outlook but now a problem with Safari not linking to Outlook anymore, there is no problem with safari and the net and firefox links directly to outlook when opened up, how can I fix the safari outlook situation please?

Safari menu -> preferences -> General -> the first item lets you select the e-mail reader on some versions of Safari. If it doesn't, look throughout the preferences.
