Safari 'next page' feature doesn't always open to top of page. Can this be fixed?

When doing a google search in Safari and going through the results, I often go to the 'next page'. Most times Safari will go to the top of the page, but about every 5th page it will open to the bottom. This does not happen in firefox and it is driving me crazy. I want Safari to open to the top of the page everytime without me having to scroll or do a keyboard command. Am I missing something?

As far as I can tell, that's some little glitch peculiar to Safari.

uninstall pse 10 (properly using the adobe uninstaller).
clean - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then try reinstalling using the adobe installation file(s).

In the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder were:

My new video project-3.prel
My new video project-4.prel
My new video project-5.prel (last and the newest)
I am OK with the first 5 with the maximum project versions = 5, but.....
Since I have set for only 5 versions, where do the subsequent versions go every 1 minute since you continue to
see only the above file names in the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder.
My new video project-1.prel
is now the 6th AutoSave and replaces the original first AutoSave.
My new video project-2 prel
is now the 7th AutoSave and replaces the original second Auto Save.
Since I did 7 AutoSaves, this is the last and the newest.
My new video project-3.prel is still the original third AutoSave.
My new video project-4.prel is still the original fourth AutoSave.
My new video project-5.prel is still the original fifth AutoSave.
So, after the generation of the 10 th AutoSave, all the original 5 AutoSave would be gone,
and the My new video project-5.prel would then again become the last and the newest)
As for the question about

Yes, but review the Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks for the locations of the scratch disc. If same as
project, then those scratch disc will end up in the folder with the AutoSave which has become your project.prel.
A battery failure was at the core of this situation. So you should be OK moving forward.

Change in EXR open from CS2 to CS3 can this be fixed?

It seems the monkeys have been at the file formats again...!
Open an exr with an alpha in CS2 and the image displays normally and the alpha is retained.
Open an exr with an alpha in CS3 and the alpha channel is applied to the transparency and then lost... which is really STUPID considering you might apply 0 alpha values to parts of the image you retain visually, as you might just want to use the alpha to drive an effect and not just be myopic and think it's just for transparency.
So, can this be fixed? I can't see any info on it?
Will CS2 non intel plugin work on an intel system in CS3
If not, effectively PS is useless for exr work for us.

What Exr is doing is applying the A into the image and not making it editable...althought the transparency is applied, the transparency is effectively "lost" because it cannot be got at.
Another point that you might not be aware of is that the RGB data is built from the RGB of the object against the background. The background might often contributes nothing to the alpha, but does to the RGB... so when the alpha removes the area it removes RGB data. Obviously this is exagerated when using pre-multiplied values of not 0 or 255, because it removes a proportion of the RGB (including the background) related to the A value.
Because of the way PS can't handle pm, it is the exact reason why it shouldn't assume alpha isn't transparency.
If I render an object with no transparency with the values 128,128,128 and A=0 then render it with 50% opacity, the image is 128,128,128 and A=128. The problem is that although the pixel values are stil 128 in the RGB, the image is transparent! You can't get that "solid" 128 RGB data out because PS ties it's transparency in with it... you can't unhook the two apart from each other. There's no layer mask to lose, or alpha, it's 'baked' the transparency into the image...
It's not so much that the transparency is lost, it's that the image is irrevocably broken... I can re-generate an alpha from the transparency... i can't see how i get those pixels back to full opacity though.
perhaps there is a way of doing it... how do I get a that image back solid? The pixel values haven't changed, they're still 128, 128,128... the alpha is gone, there is no layer mask, the layer is 100% opaque... yet there is a transparency value attached to each pixel that I can't get at.
The only way I know how is to put the exact colour in the background that was used in the renderer... but it might not be a colour used as the background, it might be an image... it might be a background plate which normally carry no alpha contribution... that's the problem.
You don't arbitrarily apply transparency in 8 or 16 bit to other formats before they are opened... why do it in 32 all of a sudden? They all support transparency once in PS (well its PS that supports it, not the format)... same as Exr.
In fact, it was this exact problem that prompted the backstep on alpha. I can't see why you can't see this as the same thing, because from our end it is.
If you want Chris, I can send you the exact files. A simple transparent box floating over a background, rendered. Normal alpha generated from the opacity straight from the file. All standard stuff, straight from a standard renderer. Your challenge is to tell me what was in the background. Your 2nd one will be to re-create it. With the CS2 you can... with CS3 you can't.

But does this mean we can load the CS3 non extended plugin in, or does the app do the damage? Could that be perhaps made available if it solves the problem?

When clicking on a link on a web page it would go to that page in the same tab and you could use the GO BACK button to bring up the previous page? Now clicking the link always goes to a new tab, can this be fixed.

It's a good idea to try disabling Flash completely and see whether the problem continues. If it does, then my guess is incorrect. To test that, open this tab:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category

Text frames not supported and images can't be imported when trying to open word document, can this be fixed?

trying to open a word document in pages, no images, diagram r tables are seen, states problems are text frames not supported and that images can not be imported. the document opens fine in mircosoft office. can this be fixed or do i need to buy microsoft office for the imac, thanks andrea

Pages isn't a perfect converter of Word documents. They are differently coded. Some documents opens well but some don't.
You could try opening the document in LibreOffice, a free clone of MS Office.

That sounds great, but on my system, that box is not at the bottom of my Pref/General page, but is when I log out and put it to sleep. What is really annoying is that I have to do this every time, instead of unchecking it and it being permanent. Yes, I have Safari 5.1 and Lion. I would like to permanently disable this as I too, think it is absurd and not a great idea when banking, paying bills, etc.

Had multiple problems with Firefox 4..went back to 3.6.16. Now always opens to a blank page rather than my chosen home page, no matter how many time sI have set it to open on my homepage. Running Windows Vista. Any suggestions?

$ was totally jacked up, no tabs, no history, no buttons that worked and always opened on a blank page. I saved my bookmarks, uninstalled 4, reinstalled 3.6.16 and all my problems went away except for the oening on a blank page. As soon as I hit home, it opens.

i ran into a simuler problem using firefox 4 with win 7. browser would not display web address and when you open the browser it would display a blank page. also back, forward, and refresh button's where grayed out and could not click hem.
after checking plugins i was able to get it working with disableing java deployment toolkit.

When you start Messages fro the first time you are asked for an Apple ID
When this is verified and entered it appears in Messages Menu > Preference > Accounts and is Enabled.
The App should have also picked on on those iChat Accounst you had before.
These should be Enabled if they were when you last used iChat.
Exactly which "Accounts" are logged in can be seen in Message Menu > Accounts and will include the iMessage "Account" and Bonjour.
In the Window menu you will see CMD +0 for the Messages window and CMD+1 for the "Buddies" window which is a combined list at this stage.
Go to the Preferences > General Section and Untick the "Collect all accounts into one list".
This will give you separate iChat type Buddy lists.
You can check if that account/Buddy list is set to Invisible or if in the Preferences > Accounts > Security you have settings that will block some people from seeing you as On line.
You are saying Buddies can see you as On Line which implies they are still sending to your AIM based Names (@Mac.com is a valid AIM Screen Name)
I am not sure from your post if you are trying to iMessage their email IDs thinking they are Apple IDs and that they are using Messages as well.
There is no Buddy list for iMessages side
No-one can tell you are "On Line" until they have your details in the "To" spot in Messages with the correct iMessaged contact info (iPhone Number or Apple ID)
Obviously an Apple ID can be an email or look like one.
In some cases they are also valid AIM Screen Names as well.
In the case or the @mac.com name you may have linked this Apple ID to iMessages as well.

Mail doesn't always open an email message on first try

I have an issue where Mac Mail doesn't always open an email message on the first try. This is happening on two of my Macs and I seem to remember this starting with the installation of Mavericks, but I'm not entirely positive about that. It may have been happening before Mavericks.
This issue does not happen with every message I open, and it seems to happen with random messages at random times, so it's tough to pinpoint exactly what triggers th problem.
I'm not sure if it's one of these non-default settings that I use:
1) I keep the message preview window closed so that I only see the list of email messages. (I keep it closed by sliding the edge where the message list and the preview window meet, all to the right).
2) I keep "Use Classic Layout" checked in my Mail Preferences.
3) I keep "Organize by Conversation" deselected in the View menu.
I've tried restoring these defaults and I can't replicate the issue but obviously, having the preview window open eliminates the need to double-click the message to open. However, double-clicking the emails opens them right up. I'm still testing this, however, I just started testing and as I mentioned previously, I prefer to have Mail configured differently.
Has anyone else come across this issue and discovered the culprit?

Did you ever solve this problem? I have the same issue on two different iMacs, one at work and one at home and on my macbook pro. It's becoming irritating and I wonder why Apple can't be bothered to fix it.

You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
