Safari not loading after update 8.1.2

Oh my God. Steve Jobs would never accept this.
The update causes continue loading problems: 3G/4G while on Safari just does not work anymore: it's not or partially loading forever!
Not to mention the battery drain.
I did follow all tutorials to solve this problem, but no effect.
Communication from Apple  = ZERO. At least the can give the costumer some information about the mess the have made. I have paid f....g a lot of money!!!
So much for dragging Nokia through the dirt.  Apple is becoming the new Nokia.

Weird things going on here.  I have 3 iPad minis.  All are first generation and two of them are running 8.1.2.  On one of these the smart cover is no longer functional and the settings item "lock/unlock" is missing.  On another running 8.1.2 the item remains in settings and the cover works.  On the third I have not upgraded so it's still running 8.1.1 - the cover functions and the setting for "lock/unlock" is there.  It seems one of these lost the setting during the upgrade, one did not, and I have not tried it yet on the third.  I need this feature so hopefully there will be some communication from Apple on this issue.

  • Safari will not load after update to 5.0.1

Ever since I updated my MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo, Leopard 10.5.8) all available software yesterday, including an update to Safari 5.0.1, nothing will load on Safari.
It will get stuck in a perpetual load with the status bar not reaching further than the http://.
I have tried EVERYTHING (well, it feels like everything) including totally uninstalling Safari and reinstalling. I've also deleted caches, reset every setting, checking that it's running in 32-bit, made sure it's not running with Rosetta, everything I could find on forums up to now.
I have also tried reinstalling an older version and despite having deleted EVERY single Safari file from my computer, it keeps telling me that I have a newer version instaled so it won't downgrade (As an aside, that is RIDICULOUS, utterly ridiculous)
Please please please help me as I need to use Safari and related programmes every day for work and this is making me very frustrated!

    Welcome to the forums!
If your Safari won't open, one or more of the following procedures should fix it:
    1. Go to Home/Library/Safari/ folder and remove the following two files:
    • history.plist
    • lastsession.plist
(Safari may not load properly If these two files are corrupted.)
    2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/ and remove the contents of that folder.
(These are just webhistory files and are not required for Safari to run. However, similar to preference files, problems can arise if they have become corrupt.)
    3. Locate the cookies.plist file that's located in the Home/Library/Cookies/ folder and remove it.
(Again, faults in stored cookies may interfere with Safari's launch.)
    4. Check whether any of your third-party internet plug-ins may be interfering with the launch of Safari by carefully moving them to the desktop (do NOT delete them at this stage). You can find these in two places:
Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and Global plug-ins are located in the Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder.
Also look in Library/Input Managers where other third party add-ons may lurk. If you find a SIMBL folder, please note that some SIMBLE.bundles may require updating or possibly removal.
Restart Safari and place them back in the correct folders, one at a time, closing and re-opening Safari each time. If you discover that one of them was causing the problem with launching Safari, trash it and download and install a fresh copy.
    Lastly, repair permissions.

  • ITunes not loading after update to OS X Yosemite

Running a Mac Mini... after updating to Yosemite a week or so ago, I haven't been able to load and run iTunes. No error messages, nothing, just won't run. I've tried restarting, reinstalling iTunes, reinstalling iTunes and restarting, and nothing. What's going on? Thanks.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. iTunes doesn't work in safe mode, but it should launch. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Win 8.1 will not load after update from 8.0

I have a M6-K010dx with win 8. Was fine for 2 years untill updated win 8.1. Now can not access nor recover or re-install win 8. Was purchased at Best Buy but was not given any software or keys. No keys on bottom. When trying to re-install system it says partistion is not there for use. I have tried to call Best Buy and they say I must buy new software and recovery disks. I have tried to boot from USB but will not do it. Have changed in bios for boot order. I do not have a USB DVD but cnan probably get one. If I DL ISO I will not have key to use.
It would appear that as the screen flashes on and off that it may be a video driver problem but have no way of fixing if it is. Do not think I should have to buy new software as I paid for it at purchase and not sure if I did I could install from USB. Because of the lack of rercover partition not there I would think I was sold a defective system.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi @guaranteed ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Windows 8.1 not loading correctly after an update. Windows 8.1 is just an update and would not remove your partition.
You can reinstall Windows 8 with any Windows 8 disk as long as it is the same version as yours. Windows 8 Home or Windows 8 Professional. It will install and update with no issues.
You might want to look at this document on some different options.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Help! Aspyr Games Not Loading After Updating To Mac OS X 10.4.11

I can't seem to get my Sims 2 game to load after installing the latest update. It will bounce once in the dock then disappear.
I called Aspyr and they said it was a problem with Apple's update, not their game(s) or company.
I was told to see if I could update to 10.5.5 and that this should fix things. How would I do that, and first of all, would that be a good idea? Is it even possible? I'm (clearly) running Tiger.
I'm very confused because I haven't been able to connect to the internet for about a month and finally installed the Apple updates and then I started having all these problems. I'm not sure what to do!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Run Disk Utility and repair permissions on your drive. If that doesn't work, follow the more extensive instructions for repairing your drive.
As you have observed, you are running Tiger and the company told you to upgrade to Leopard, which I agree isn't very helpful unless you want to upgrade (is it worth it?).

From BDaqua (couldn't have said it better):
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer (Edit: Do not use this disc if it is not the same general version as what you have currently on your computer, e.g. use a Tiger disc for a Tiger drive, not a Panther disc), then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes."

  • Itunes store is not loading after update to ios 7

I have an iphone 4s. I have recently updated to ios 7 and ios 7.0.2. The iTunes Stores is not loading anymore. I have signed in and out several times but it does not work. Any help? Tks.

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, restore your iPhone >  iTunes: Restoring iOS software
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Safari not working after update to mountain lion

After I updated my os to mountain lion from snow leopard, safari will not open.  Any suggestions?  My internet is working fine because I was able to use an alternate web browser.

Try opening safari directly from /Applications, not the dock icon.  If this works, remove the dock icon and replace it.

  • Will not load after update

I have an Imac DV with OS X 10.3. I turned it on the other day and after it loaded up, it said there were updates available. I had it install the updates and then when it tried to restart, it went through loading up until it got into the loading window part and then it stopped and will not go any farther. I have tried several times but it will not get past that part. I don't have any install discs. Anyone help? Thanks. Bob

    You're Welcome Bob!
Without install discs, how, and when, did you upgrade to Panther 10.3.x?
Was the iMac Firmware Update 4.1.9 installed, before the upgrade?
Panther, is no longer available directly from the Apple Online Store, as Leopard 10.5.x, is the most up to date OS.
But, if you know what to look for, a Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, can be purchased, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, FastMac, HardCore Mac, AllMac, etc.
Be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Panther is only on CDs, not DVDs.
The discs should look exactly like the images in the above links, and not say Upgrade, CPU Drop-in DVD, or "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - not to be sold seperately." on them.

  • Safari not loading after MacBook Air wakes up

Over the last few months, I've had problems with Safari zooming on pages, without me pinching to zoom, but over the last few weeks, it's gotten worse.  Whenever my computer wakes up, Safari won't load pages.  I have tried switching wifi networks and tried disabling all third party add ons.  All of the extensions  installed are through the Apple websites.  In order to get Safari working again, I have to restart my computer.

  • Safari not loading after Leopard install

I installed Leopard last night. All went well, except that I have been unable to load Safari. I have tried various fixes mentioned elsewhere in the forum, including trying Safari in a different account, deleting SIMBL plug-ins, deleting Flash plug-ins etc. The same result every time.

If anyone has a solution, I would be fantastically grateful.

SORRY TO BE WRITING ALL IN CAPS, BUT I WANT EVERYONE TO NOTICE11
I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH SAFARI. I WENT TO THE APPLE STORE NEAR ME AND WE DECIDED THAT IT WAS DUE TO HAVING INSTALLED THE 'BETA' VERSION OF SAFARI WHEN IT WAS RELEASED ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO. THAT, AT LEAST FOR ME, WAS A REAL PIECE OF ****!! I UNINSTALLED IT IMMEDIATELY, BUT EVIDENTLY IT LEFT SOME FORM OF CORRUPTION IN MY COMPUTER.
IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME THAT I DO AN ARCHIVE AND INSTALL INSTEAD OF AN UPDATE INSTALL.
IT WORKED!!! AND MY IMAC AND ALL MY APPLICATIONS ARE RUNNING BETTER AND FASTER!!
FROM NOW ON, I WILL ALWAYS USE ARCHIVE AND INSTALL. I THINK IT JUST CLEANS UP EVERYTHING BETTER!!
    TRY IT.
(AGAIN, SORRY FOR THE CAPS, BUT I KNOW HOW FRUSTRATED YOU ALL ARE.)

  • Safari not working after update

I just did an auto update and now Safari is not working.  It hangs when trying to save a bookmark and does not allow me close using x or Safari toolbar.
    any thoughts?

Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • Fglrx drivers not loading after update to Kernel 3.7.3

    Hi,
I just updated to kernel 3.7.3 and the fglrx module isnt loading. I just read the catalyst wiki page again and I didnt install the catalyst-hook package or add fglrx to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf hooks array.
    Not sure what todo?
    Thanks.

nirvanix wrote:I just reinstalled the catalyst-dkms package and then it worked again.
Excellent thanks. I didnt want to go messing around and screwing it up but that was simple enough. I also installed the catalyst-hook package and linux-headers for next time. Hopefully wont be a problem.
    Thanks.

  • Some images are not loading after update and have explored options and settings without result

a lot of sites visited do not show images. ie google, weather maps, my home page for isp. have tried most suggestions and has occurred only since f/fox update.

You probably have seen this article, but just in case you haven't, it's a pretty comprehensive list of things to check:

Also, if you are using an ad blocking add-on, you might try disabling that in case it has gone haywire (e.g., bad rule set update).

  • ITunes and Quick Time will not load after update

I have updated my ITunes to 7.5 and now I get an error message, sends report to microsoft program had to close... and when I try to open QT I get an Buffer Overrun error. I have tried everything that is suggested at these web pages but no success. I have uninstalled, downloaded, numerous times. My Itunes worked fine before the upgrade, now that I have a new 3rd generation Nano its almost useless. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I've been having the same problem now for over 2 weeks, and it doesn't matter what I do, including a system restore, it still won't launch. If I dock my iPod, it freezes and doesn't sync, I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice, and it still won't work.
I got an error message telling that some detection program was preventing it from opening, but when I tried to adjust the program's settings to turn it off for iTunes, it tells me it's required for iTunes.
    This is so frustrating!

  • Safari not working after update of software

recently updated software as directed and cannot access Safari

It sounds to me that you just trashed Glims but it looks to me as though there is a developer's uninstaller.  Always use such an uninstaller where it is supplied.   The link below is from Glims. It gives other details too.   You may have to re-install to uninstall properly.
