Safari not loading picture links

Hi,
I'm using Safari on Windows 7 and am having trouble with it loading some picture links (i.e Facebook).
I recently installed Avira (about a 2 weeks ago) as my antivirus, but no problems occurred until about two days ago. I've already tried changing the web browsing security with Avira, but to no help.
Any suggestions?

Many thanks.
Starting some basic pricinples troubleshooting now.
First we'd better determine if this is a systemwide problem or a user-account specific problem. (This isn't a cure in itself, but it will allow us to narrow in on some possible culprits and rule some others out.
Create a new user account on the PC with full administrative rights. Log out of your usual account and log into the new one. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Launch Safari in the new account. Do pictures appear on websites there that don't display the pictures in your normal account? Or does the same thing happen as in the usual account?

  • Will not load sites linked from another website--have cleared cache, cookies, history, restarted, checked in Safe Mode--still does not work.

Some sites load fine. But some sites will not load when linked from another web site, or, occasionally, even from my bookmarks. I went through troubleshooting routine--cleared cache and cookies, history, checked in Safe Mode for extensions, etc., but still will not work in Safe Mode. No other problems with computer or browser.

What happens when you click the link that does not open up the new page? Is it a blank page? Does this also happen if you Shift Click the link?

Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Why will safari not load web pages with the prefix "fhp"?

Why will safari not load web pages with the prefix "fhp"?

Because it doesn't recognise them as valid addresses - just as the error message  says.
Firefox is similar : Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (fhp) isn't associated with any program.
Where are you seeing this problem ?.

    Hi there,
I have reinstalled Firefox 3.6 a few times, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. When I try and load a site with pictures, videos (such as YouTube, but including a blog post with pictures), or more than one tab at a time, I just get "Untitled" tabs that don't even register the address. This happens especially when clicking to open a link in a new tab from a Google Reader.

  • Safari not loading and quits unexpectedly on iPad Mini

Safari just randomly stopped working on my iPad mini. It behaves as if it is frozen from the moment it launches.
Everytime I open Safari (directly or through links from Mail, FB etc.), it won't load and non of the buttons are working, it looks like it's frozen then will just quit unexpectedly. I tried going to Settings > Safari and it won't even load anything about Safari. Then Settings will just freeze and I won't be able to access any other options on it. I can still go in my home page by simply pressing the Home button. I have to close Settings (double clicking Home button then closing the app from there) before I can access it again. As long as I don't select Safari in settings, I can still navigate and change anything while in the settings.
Everything elses works in my iPad Mini. Safari and Settings being frozen doesn't seem to affect any other apps.
I tried everything that I know and was suggested here:
Settings > Safari > Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data --- not even loading and will just freeze as soon as I select Safari in settings.
Settings > iCloud > Turn off Safari --- stuck on "Turning Off Safari Data..." screen - had to force quit settings to access settings again
Restarting iPad by completely shutting it down.
Closed all apps, then restarting iPad by holding Power and Home button.
Reset iPad settings by going to General > Reset > Reset All Settings
DFU mode and Reinstall iOS 7
None of these worked and Safari still behaves the same way. It was working before and has been for a while when I updated to iOS 7 originally. I can't think of anything that I installed that would've cause Safari to not respond except for the most recent update of iOS 7. But it was working then until recently.
I can install Chrome and still have a browser but this is really frustrating especially because any links that I click on is directed to Safari.
Please, any other suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated.
I think my last option here is to drop by in the closest Apple Store and have them troubleshoot it there. Luckily I still have warranty on it so I can still have it exchange if it can't be fixed.
Looking forward on hearing from you guys..thanks!

Same issue, on an iPhone 5 on iOS 7.0.4 (11B554a) that's been working fine for months and hasn't had a recent iOS update. Safari freezes on open, Settings / Safari won't load, but everything else is fine. Safari had half a dozen pages open when it stopped working. Resetting multiple times didn't work, restoring the phone via iTunes from iCloud backup didn't work, clearing Safari date from Settings / Usage didn't work, and I didnt have an iTunes backup to restore from. Phone is unable to turn off Safari data under iCloud, whether choosing o leave it on the phone or delete it, and is unable to delete all iCloud data as I try to unhook it from iCloud altogether; it just keeps spinning on Turning off Safari Data... or on Deleting... . Frustrating as ****.

  • Safari Not Loading

    Hello!
I am a first time poster to these boards. I am seeking help with Safari 4.0.5, which I updated and installed to my iMac on 3/17/10 (using Safe Mode.)
My iMac is a 2006, Early Version, Intel Core Duo, using OS Tiger, 10.4.11.
The problem is Safari is not loading (versus crashing or unexpectedly quitting.) The problem appears to have started only in the last couple of weeks, and not immediately after the update installation. The loading process times out (3 minutes) and returns the following:
You are not connected to the Internet.
Safari can’t open the page “http://ww2.cox.com/myconnection/arkansas/home.cox” because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet.
Using Network Diagnostics the results window shows the following ( although the address is the home page address and is correct):
    Cannot find server
This computer appears to have a working Internet connection, but cannot find "ww2.cox.com".
You may have typed the address incorrectly.
The Network Diagnostics/ Network Status shows
    Green Button - Built-In Ethernet
    Green Button - Network Settings
    Green Button - ISP
    Red Button - Internet (failed)
    Red Button - Server (failed)
(Sorry - I could not get a picture ofit to paste in this message.)
After reading information on some of the other posted Safari questions I have tried the suggestions that I thought may apply to my Safari problem. So far, here is what I have tried:
    – Permissions: I am someone who routinely verifies and repairs permissions, and have done so in this situation.
    – Reset Safari: I reset Safari at a minimum daily when I shutdown the computer. Typically, if I am doing many web searches, I will reset Safari 7 to 10 times a day. All the reset options are selected so I hope the caches and cookies are being cleaned out.
    – Input Managers/Input Methods: I cannot locate any files or folders labeled as such to remove.
    – .plists: From my user library I have removed and replaced the safari.plist, the lastsession.plist, and the history.plist, one at time and tried to restart Safari to no avail.
    – Home page address: changed to the Apple site, problem still happens.
    – Safe Mode: I have restarted the iMac in safe mode and done all of the above.
    – Flash Player: On 3/29/10 I downloaded and installed Flash Player version 10.0.45.2.
    – Hardware: I checked all the physical connections and everything seems to be in working order.
By accident, I found a work-around, hopefully temporary, solution. I use the Terminal utility to run the sudo periodic maintenance scripts because the iMac is turned off at night. I also run these scripts when any system problems appear. I find if the sudo periodic daily command is run Safari will then load. Safari may then load just fine for the next few days, or just for one day. Once Safari is loaded there does not seem to be any problems with its performance.
The periodic maintenance scripts are the only UNIX commands I know, and I don’t understand what files are being affected. I cannot discern a particular website visit or function that will cause the next failure to load.
Does anyone have suggestions to resolve this problem (besides never shutting the iMac or Safari off..LOL)?
    Thank you,
    Cym

    Dear Carolyn:
Thank you for your Welcome and quick response. Please do not forsake me now.
The ISP is "seeing" what the iMac Network Diagnosis is reporting, that the built-in ethernet and modem are working, the network settings are fine, and that the ISP "signal" is reaching my computer. The url "ww2.cox.com" is a correct address and the site is functioning. Also checking the hardware connections found nothing loose. So...the problem is my h/w or s/w (or maybe I did not ask the right questions.)
(I have tried to paste a copy of the Network Diagnosis window here but cannot figure out how to do that. I did make a file of it using Preview's Grab function, and can copy it but cannot get it pasted from the clipboard into this post.)
My Safari's home page is set at the "ww2.cox.com" and has been for the last few years, so no new element there. The address is correct. In trying to resolve this 'loading problem' I have experimented and changed the home page to www.apple.com, and www.google.com. The loading still times out and Network Diagnostics still reports, "This computer appears to have a working Internet connection, but cannot find "www.apple.com" (or "www.google.com"). You may have typed the address incorrectly."
As stated in my original post, once the sudo periodic daily script is run, Safari will load with no problem. Safari can find the ww2.cox.com page, or whatever home page I have set. There are no performance problems until the next time Safari will not load.
What is really frustrating is the problem occurrence is not consistent. It may happen the first time Safari is being accessed. It sometimes happens after I used Safari for a couple hours, then Quit, and then try to reopen Safari later. It can happen after a Safari reset only. It does not happen everyday. Safari will open and load fine for a few days, then it won't. And this whole situation only started about March 25th.
It seems like there is some little piece of ??? being corrupted during Safari use, that does not get corrected with permissions repair, or removing the various plists, but gets resolved (albeit temporarily) with the daily maintenance script. I cannot narrow it down.
So, Carolyn, do you have other advice on this subject?
Thank you for your time and consideration,
    Cym

  • Safari wont load pictures

on a lot of websites (mainly myspace) pictures wont load, and the image of a little blue box with a question mark will appear, i cant figure out how to solve this problem

Most of the images of specific web sites will not load in my Safari browser- nor will they load in my Firefox browser. I am running Leopard, and before that Tiger- same problem with both browsers in both OSs. For example, the www.anntaylor.com web site, when I click on any of the items in the menu bar and the following page loads, none of the pictures appear- just the small question mark in the blue square. I've emptied the cache and cleared the cookies and the problem persists. Any ideas?
Another problem with both Firefox and Safari is that several web sites simply do not load on my Mac. (I know they work because I can access them from my work on a PC.) Some web sites that do not load: www.macys.com, and www.bloomingdales.com. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Safari not loading some sites.

I don't believe I have changed anything in Safari, but this problem has recently started occuring.
Half the sites I go to won't load properly. It seems to try, as the progress bar begins to fill, but after a couple of seconds it gives up and leaves me with a white page. The activity window shows the page as being 1 byte in size.
This seems to happen more often on some sites than others, whereas some will not be affected at all and will work fine. Some of the offending sites will also load if I copy/paste the link into a new tab, but not if I reload.
It also occurs in the latest Webkit build (34130) but not in Firefox (3.0RC1) or Camino (1.6.1).
I've tried resetting Safari, but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem, and often end up going back to Firefox as a result.
Also, Safari will very often not load www.hotmail.com. I get the following message -
"Windows Live ID is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:
This site may be experiencing a problem.
The site may not be a member of Windows Live ID.
If I clean out all the hotmail related cookies, it then does usually load, but what a pain. I recently made Safari my preferred browser, but now regret having done so. Since this seems to be an Apple problem, hope they resolve it soon.
