Safari not remembering Web Site data

I have an Iphone 5 on IOS 7.1.1, but Safari never retains website data, for example every time I visit the BBC.co.uk website it asks me to accept cookies, and the regional settings that are autodetected for the weather etc revert to defaults.
I have checked settings and:
'Block Cookies' is set to never
Do Not Track is off
I have cleared the cookies, reset the phone etc but this has made no difference. It's done this since I got the phone over a year ago.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who has reported what you are seeing on my website. Now I need some help to troubleshoot the problem. So far I am confused as to where the problem lays let alone what the problem might be.
I need guidance as I am running out of ideas for troubleshooting. Are there any files that I should try trashing?
Could the problem lie in my Flash player perhaps (how do I test this?
Updates:
I can see only a gray color behind my flash title on http://www.paintmaking.com in Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) and Internet Explorer 5.2.3 (5815.1). What should be there is a colored header image.
I have established that other people can see the image correctly, including on the same builds of Safari and IE and on the same OS (10.3.9). An exception is someone using Shiira who can only see gray in Shiira, but sees colors in other browsers including Safari.
On my computer Netscape 7.2, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera and Camino can all see the image correctly.
Safari and IE have the same problem displaying the image on all the accounts on my eMac.
I have: cleared cache with no improvement, checked Safari Preferences (Java enabled, JavaScript enabled, and 'display images as pages open' is checked.
I have removed the software that I installed recently. (MacTracker)
I have removed a piece of JavaScript added recently (from Google to facilitate their Analytics programme)
The only major thing I have done lately that is out of the ordinary is to Clone my OS X hard drive to an external drive using SuperDuper.
I don't seem to be having problems with other websites.
So how can this be? If the problem is in my computer why only the one site affected? (I checked several sites) Yet if the problem is with the site then why can other people see the site correctly?

I have set the security option to remember passwords. I have also set the web site to remember passwords. I still have to log in to my home page every time I open Firefox.
    The home page is www.symbaloo.com.
Internet Explorer remembers it without issue.
    Thanks.

  • Safari not opening web sites

Within just the past week or so, I can no longer open many web sites using Safari. It gets about a third of the way and then just stops. The problem occurs with all different types of sites - including Facebook and BBC. I have tried clearing out the cache and resetting Safari. What is the problem? What can I do to fix it?

  • Safari not displaying web site image

I have a website that is suddenly not displaying the header image in Safari and IE5.2.
I have my suspicions that it is due to a JavaScript from Google to run their Analytics programme which I installed a few days ago, (and will shortly remove it to confirm the suspicion or otherwise.)
But first I wish to check if other people are experiencing the same problem, or if it is localized to my computer. (Need to be able to inform Google if their script is the fault and affects all Safari users or only some versions. So please check the site and report results here, including your Safari version. Mine is Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) and Internet Explorer 5.2 for Mac.
    The site is http://www.paintmaking.com
What I see in Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Camino is a flash title over a colored background with a photo.
Thats what I saw in Safari until recently too. But suddenly all I now see in Safari and IE is the flash title over a gray background, no photo, and above the menu bar a very thin strip of color (about 1mm, 1/16in). The sidebar images are unaffected (and those images at the side work fine in all the browsers), it is just the header.
Can you please tell me what you see and the browser version?

  • Safari not opening web sites or partly

All other internet devices can open pages no problem, For a long time i have been having trouble with Safari my main browser.
It either  come up blanks , showing no server found . or like the picture, all the info missing   Some tomes fox does this too but Chrome is fine. Safari just getting worse, I have cleaned and cleaned the catch. its still happens.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Why will safari not load web pages with the prefix "fhp"?

Why will safari not load web pages with the prefix "fhp"?

Because it doesn't recognise them as valid addresses - just as the error message  says.
Firefox is similar : Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (fhp) isn't associated with any program.
Where are you seeing this problem ?.

  • Safari does not remember web pages.

Lets use the website " apple.com " as an example. When you start to type the website in the address bar, with each letter you type, normally, safari would have a drop down box showing past websites visited. however, in my case, safari doesnt remember many/most sites. My question is; how do i make it so it remembers even those sites i havent visted in a long while. thanks for any help!
    -Brad-

    Bradley,
In order to come up with a list of options when you begin to type a URL into the address bar, Safari collates entries from your browser history as well as your bookmarks. The reason why you're not seeing the sites you visited a long time ago, is because Safari's history is set to retain only a limited number of days' worth of sites by default.
This article highlights one method of extending Safari's history to stretch back further. Of particular interest are the terminal commands listed in the comments section:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitHistoryItemLimit 9999
    defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitHistoryAgeInDaysLimit 365

  • Why does my G-4 Mac running Tiger not show web site PDF documents?

When on a web site wishing to link to a given PDF type document offered by that site (ex: a related Sales Sheet), when clicked on a new window opens but it is blank of any data--nor was the PDF otherwise auto-downloaded so as to appear generally on my computer's Desktop. I therefore am experiencing no access to any available PDF offered documents or info otherwise available and, unfortunately, am not savvy enough to rectify the matter myself.

Thank you Kappy and AnaMusic.  I went through all the links you supplied, but nothing seems out of the ordinary except that my boot HD keeps filling up by itself.
When I took out the 100+ gb (from my 1 tb boot HD), I watched the Get Info page and as I worked the available space went linearly down from 100+gb to 10.34 gb (right now) in a matter of about 50 minutes, when I quit.  I was using mostly Adobe Indesign, but Mail and Safari and maybe Excel were also open.
Something is really wrong.  Anymore "use" and it will be full and then I won't have any use of it.
Yesterday when this problem started, available space went down to less than 100 MB and warnings began to show up.
See 3rd image below where the home folder "Norm" is now at 894 GB, but the total of all other folders only adds to about 87 GB.
What could cause that to happen?
    Thanks

  • Safari not remembering username and password

Hello, I have my settings set so that Safari remembers my username and passwords to make logins faster. One site I use for school has had my username and password saved since I first started using it. But all of a sudden, it's not remembering my information anymore. When I go onto the site, it doesn't automatically fill in everything like it used to. And the only way I know how to add usernames and passwords to Safaris list is when it prompts you to when on a new site. How can I "re save" my username and pasword? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You might be able to fix it by deleting the saved password from your keychain in the Keychain Access application. Search for it by the domain name of the site.

  • Safari not remembering previous searches

For some reason Safari has suddenly stopped prompting when I enter a search term. for instance, if I had gone to a web site 2 days ago, and I start to enter the same name in search mode, it should come up with a menu of possibilites. But it doesn't do it anymore. Using 10.3.9, Safari 1.3.2.
    Any ideas?

  • Safari Not Opening Certain Sites????

I am encountering some trouble with this new Safari set up. Most recent issue is, tried to open a site on my computer that worked yesterday. Contacted sites webmaster and they told me that Microsoft updated its internet browser and that if I don't have the correct settings on my brower, I will not be able to view the site. They told me to contact my ISP to have them walk me thru fixing the trouble. My ISP, verizon told me that this is not their issue but to contact Apple. I just want to know how I can view my website now? Firefox won't even work on it. It is just my work resume system and it does work at my office via a Microsoft Internet browser, just not with my Safari any more. I don't know what I need to do to fix this. Please help!

Yang, I appreciate the response. I tried your suggestion out and it didn't work. I keep getting this message:
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list.
Your IP address identifies your home network - or whatever network you are using to access the web. (That is, your home modem or router or your work modem or router.) This means that your location has been blocked from accessing this web site. I suppose this could be something automated by the web site you are trying to visit. It can also be done deliberately by the administrator of the web site. (Edit: One thought is that you might have been locked out due to having tried the wrong username and password too many times, or for some similar security issue.)
Trying to access the site via a different web browser isn't likely to change that, since it is your location ("your browsing computer") that is being blocked. The only thing you can do if that message is accurate is contact the IT people who manage your workplace's web site again, this time giving them that error message so they know that this is not a problem with your web browser or the Mac OS - it is a very specific problem due to your IP address being actively blocked by the server where the site is hosted.

  • IOS Safari forces mobile web sites over full web sites

When you access certain sites using Safari on iOS, the web site will detect this and redirect you to a mobile version of the site optimised for mobile devices.
Is there is a way to stop the iOS Safari from declaring itself as an iOS browser?
For example, I use a pecific full website shortcut for a weather radar picture from Accuweather (www.accuweather.com/.......). Now, as soon as I want to see that quick loading radar picture, the Safari iOS browser goes instead to the start page of Accuweather Mobile (m.accuweather.com) and I will not be able to see the full web site picture at all.
I checked in the Settings for Safari but could not find anything helpful for this.

    Thanks spm161!
Here is the shortcut http://www.accuweather.com/m/US/wigs.axd?city=Miami&state=FL&w=480&h=640&type=_S IR&geoWidth=400&lat=25.00&lon=-78.50
I live in the Bahamas and this is the best and customizable radar picture I could find. We only have Edge service down here and loading any apps is mostly very slow. That radar picture comparably loads pretty quick and gives me the most detail, too.
But like I said, recently the shortcut gets redirected to m.accuweather.com
I will send the info to the email as you advised above. Thanks for your help!!
