Okey dokey, next phase
Download the offline installer if you don't have it already
Quit Safari
(Reboot if necessary - but it shouldn't be necessary)
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the entire Flash Player folder from there
Empty the trash
Mount the DMG and run the Flash Player installer
Relaunch Safari

    please help me out

I can't do that since I do nothing with Windows.
It sounds like it was hacked to run XP and then makes it not run OS X now.
Only thing I can suggest is to repartition the hard drive to a single HFS+, GUID partition and see if that allows you to install OS X.

  • Safari not running after ios8 update for ipad

I updated my Ipad with Retina display with ios8 lately and noticed that safari is not running after update. whenever i try to open it it just pop open and close immediately and automatically.
There was no problem of this kind before the update.
    Any solution??

    If the above doesn't work:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

  • Safari not running, teasing mostly

I have been using this laptop for about 6 mths now and ever since purchase the Safari Browser does not run for very longat all. Mostly a teasing start and then crash. I have since switched to Firefox but loved using the Safari Browser before on my previous iMac G3. What could I be doing wrong?

Sorry for the delay. To answer your last post more clearly:
    Open Safari.
    1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
I did this and it did help to keep Safari open for about ten minutes which is the longest it has run onthis new system.
    2. Trash your Icons Folder:
    HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
Did this at the same time as the first one so I figure it helped too
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
    3. You might want to check all three "auto" preferences in Safari. Sometimes those lists gets very long and need pruning. (I turned all autofill boxes off, and have no problems.)
Actually did this and turned them all off too! unk impact on the issue.
    4. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
Actually did this the other day just to keep the folder clean for all my programs. Kinda a regular maintaince thing as I do tend to keep a few around and down load new ones every few months. non recently though.
Question: Do you have any non-apple internet programs like SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer, etc.? Some of these needed updating starting around 10.3.9. Also Norton apps (with the "possible" exception of NAV) became incompatible about 8.6 or 9.0. Definitely not good for OS X. Virex can cause problems as well.
I do seem to have Saft loaded, and Safari extender too. None of the others are currently on my system.
So I will try to uninstall Saft and Extender as well as re install safari completely and start over. I totally agree that Safari is a kickin program and would prefer to run the slick Apple products over any other...but this one does seem to be fussy for me now.
Thanks for the help so far.

  • Safari not running under 10.3.9?

Hi. i've seen similar posts on this topic, but haven't spotted an agreed solution.
Using Software Update, I've just upgraded to OSX 10.3.9.
However, Safari now doesn't load- it bounces in the Dock for a while, then an 'Application has unexpectedly quit' message appears.
Trying to launch it via the Finder produces the same result and message.
No other programs seem affected. I can still access the Web via Internet Explorer.
Anyone got any ideas how I can resurrect Safari, and hopefully all my Bookmarks? Or do I need to upgrade further to 10.4 Tiger?
    Thanks, Paul

Thanks. Found the .plist file you mentioned, dragged it to the desktop, and rebooted, but no change- Safari still not loading, and the same error message appearing.
Here is the latest Crash report. It's quite long!

  • ITunes 10.1.1 for Windows (64-bit) Does Not Run After Installation

I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 and downloaded the 64-bit installer (iTunes64Setup). Although I recieve the notice that it was installed, when I start it up, I receive the "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read..." error message whenever I try to start it.
I have uninstalled the program, deleted the original setup file (iTunes64Setup), downloaded it again and re-installed it twice with no success.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

Finally got it installed and running.

  • Issue with Safari not running

I tap Safari and the application opens but it does not load a page. You can not select a bookmark or type in an web address or refresh. If have restored the phone hoping that would fix it. It did not. All other application appear to work correctly except the browser. Can anyone assist?

Is it only this application that your having this problem with?
I'm gonna go ahead and guess you either have wifi on or edge (or even just GPRS) activated!
Try rebooting the phone (turn on n off) or try a reset!
Before doing anything like this make sure your have backed your iphone up by syncing it.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
This link will tell you how to do it. If it carries on just give apple a bell!

  • Safari not running hulu or netflix...why?

Having very strange behaviors with Safari. When I try and go to Hulu or Netflix (which both use silverlight to stream content no?) then not only do the videos not play but safari just straight up stops working (blue address bar stops 1/4 of the way as if it is loading, but then I can't navigation away from the site or do any google searches). It seems that a similar behavior happens with YouTube, where a/10th of the page loads but the main ad space and other parts won't load (HTML 5 no?). Really have not encountered this type of behavior before.
I have cleared the cache, cleared all the user data under privacy, I have restarted the browser, I have downloaded silverlight again and the same behavior persists. Any ideas, would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Might be an extension preventing Hulu or Netflix to stream video content.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any installed, switch the On button to Off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, uninstall one extension at a time, quit and relaunch Safari until you find the incompatible extension.

  • Desktop Manager will not run after installation

I have recently reinstalled Windows XP on my PC, so I am trying to get the Desktop Manager software back on to my computer. I have tried installing several times from the original software disk (version 4.2, I think) and have also tried downloading from the Blackberry website and from cnet, and even from the TMobile website. Each time I try, everything seems to install just fine, but when I try to open the desktop manager it does nothing, it's just a blank window that eventually just closes. When I try to open the Device Manager, I get an error message that says "This application has failed to start because libBBLaunchAgent.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." So I have tried re-installing over and over and every time I get the same result, no matter if I download from the disk or from any website. I have tried to search my computer for the .dll file but there are no results, even in hidden folders. I have done a google search of the .dll file and nothing comes up so I am completely lost and clueless. I have never had trouble installing this software on my PC, it just won't install since I have re-installed Windows. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to see if it helps out. Can read up on that and other things to try when Windows Installer gives errors from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

Could we uninstall and re-install Safari?

  • Safari Won't Open - 10.5.2 errors but running 10.5.5 - Stuck Force Quitting

Basic rundown of my problem. I went to click on Safari, the application bounced once in the dock and acted as if it was opening -- Safari name was in the menu bar on the top of the screen, but no browser window every opened. After a short while, the application stopped responding and I was stuck using "force quit". So I tried a few different things. Initially, I just restarted my macbook, didn't help. Then, I came onto the discussion forums, saw some tips. So I went and wiped out the .plist files and tried starting Safari, didn't work. I repaired disk permissions, tried it -- didn't work. Finally, I deleted Safari. I tried downloading it off of Apple's site and got an error saying I need to be running Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer -- but I am running 10.5.5. So I came back onto the forums, saw a post similar to this and instead had a friend send me his Safari application and tried running that -- that didn't work. So I deleted that version and tried installing Safari off of my Leopard disk and that didn't work either.
So this pretty much brings me to my last options. Unless someone has an idea of what's going on based on the readouts I've copied below, I'll probably have to backup my files and wipe the computer to get everything in working order again. If you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks for your help!
EDIT: The readout that I got from the error in Safari is so long I can't post it in this thread... so if anyone is willing to take a look I can forward it by e-mail. I'd appreciate it, thanks a lot!

    Reading permissions database.
Reading the permissions database can take several minutes.

    Permissions repair complete

The first mistake was deleting Safari; that just created more problems for you. Resist the urge to think like a PeeCee user and delete things when they're not working correctly. The application is rarely the problem. Also, you cannot download Safari from the Apple web site; those are updates, requiring you to have Safari already installed.
You're going to have to reinstall Safari from scratch. To do that:
    1. Repair Permissions.
    2. Insert your Mac OS X install disc, navigate to the Optional Installs folder and open the Optional Installs.mpkg file.
    3. Check the box to install Safari and run the installer.
    4. Download and re-apply the 10.5.5 Combo Update; this will get you back to Safari 3.1.2.
    5. Repair Permissions again.

  • Programs not running in leopard

my adobe creative suite and office:mac v.X are not running after installation of leopard, which i bought to use with my 16gb iphone. suggestions?

Java Preferences can be found using Spotlight.
Update your Java 6 as previously instructed as it's supplies security fixes.
Java 7 and above is for 10.7 and above, Oracle is dropping support for Java 6.
However all versions of Java have been HIGHLY insecure, so it's advised not to use them at all
If your using Java based programs (like the free LibreOffice) then certainly disable Java in all web browsers and applets in Java Preferences.
Apple has a now annual OS X upgrade cycle that is causing havoc and disqualifying  older, but perfectly working machines from running necessary software and dragging third party developers along.
So one shouldn't be running Safari (outdated and no Safari 6), Java 6, very possibly Chrome on OS x 10.6.8, but if you upgrade to 10.7 or above, your machine will perform slower and all your PPC based software will no longer continue to function.
It's sad, because OS X Snow Leopard has  1/4 OS X market share still and many can't upgrade because developers are not issuing 10.7/10.8 versions of their software because of AppStore and Gatekeeper signaling the closing of the operating system in the future.
The 10 year support cycle of Windows versions sounds like blessed relief compared to Apple's annual OS X upgrade nightmare.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still

I'm not sure anyone here knows more about the Java plugin than you do...
Were you starting the control panel from disk as administrator because it didn't work starting it through the Start menu (if you have Control Panel set to View by Category, the Java control panel is under "Programs").
