Safari not showing text

Hello
safari has started rendering fonts wierdly
on certain pages the text comes out as little squares for each character with A's in them
Last thing i did was to install office 2010 30 day trial
I have switched off duplicate fonts because i have heard this can cause a problem and i have tried to change the default font and fixed width font in safari preferences.
I am stumped after that and i cannto read Miscorosfts help pages because the fonts are displaying wierdly on that page

so it looks like its a corrupt Microsoft font
to fix i tried to validate the fonts in font book, bt it only found minor issues
next i went to the system fonts folder inside there is a microsoft folder which i compressed to keep a back up
I then deleted the original and restarted Safari, all fixed!
Microsoft offce seems to still work fine as well, but i imagine with a reduced number of available font. I may reinstall it to see what happens in the future.

I don't think LR4 adjustments can be directly sent to CS4, because CS4 cannot interpret LR4's new processing engine.
I think you have to use Edit In... and create a TIF or PSD and send those to CS4

Safari not showing pdf images

When I open several pdf documents that I recently added to my website, the images on the documents do not show up when I view them through Safari?

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Print Preview in routing does not show text

Good morning all...
We have a user who is attempting to preview their print job, and currently the print preview function in the routings does not show the standard text. It displays the page number but nothing else.
I am trying to obtain more information from the user now, but was wondering if this is something that anyone else may have run into. I will be updating this message with more details as I obtain them.

Safari not showing some of the fonts

Safari is not showing the fonts on a lot of websites, and it is safari because i opened the same page on chrome and they are showing up on chrome.

That's the LastResort font showing where the intended fonts should be. Usually, this is caused by bad font cache data.
Close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command (or copy/paste it from here):
sudo atsutil databases -remove
This removes all font cache files maintained by OS X. Both for the system and the active user account. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

Mobile Safari not showing images

Hi there,
Since upgrading to 4.01 and then 4.02 on my iPhone, Safari seems to intermittently not show images on websites... does anyone know the reason for this and a solution?

I am having the same issue. I have found in my case the site I was working on is pulling content from JSON and the mobile app is using a Cache Manifest file. When I removed the manifest file reference I could see the images again.

Why is Safari not showing pages correctly ?

I'm having a little Safari 5 trouble.
Safari is not showing page layouts correctly, it seems it is not recognizing / reading css at all. Not one site shows correctly !
Whereas Firefox has no problem at all.
On Safari, I had diverse small extensions and Glims (but I had those for a while and nothing like this ever happened - only the occasional crash).
Also, I tried reinstalling Safari entirely. No change.
What do you think can be causing this ?

As for the extensions, go to Safari / Preferences - Extensions. Turn that OFF. Quit Safari (Command + Q) Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference.
Try resetting Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
If nothing above has helped, try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file. Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Now launch Safari. If Safari loads pages as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.

Why do my captions not show text when project is published?

Hi all!
I am having a strange problem, which I cant seem to find any info on!! I have several captions in my project with text in them- I can see these perfectly when I preview the project, the problem comes when I publish.....
I have managed to publish fine to SWF (text shows up!), but when I publish to EXE, the captions appear but do not show the text (are blank).
Any thoughts on this?

Well that's just bizarre!
Perhaps try publishing to a different Flash version? Or installing a different Flash version on the playback PC?

Photoshop CS6 panels/tools not showing text descriptions.

While working on a project of mine yesterday the panels that display eraser and pen tool etc. stopped showing text. I can still see the hidden tools, but can no longer see text. I am quite familiar with most tools, but not all so it is a pain when I need to try that oddball tool I don't use regularly. I'm not sure what happened, but if anyone knows or had similar issues that can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Ensure "Show Tool Tips" is enabled in Preferences > Interface.

Flex Alert box not showing text after single inverted comma

Hi friends,
I am launching a flex app (swf) from a JSP page. i am sending a value using flashvars like below.
flashvars.message = '<c:out value="${requestScope.message}"/>';
This message consists a single inverted comma in between...ex:- L'impression des pages
But when i want to show this message using alert box in flex like Alert.show(message);, it just shows
'L'. i mean it is not showing complete message. the text after inverted comma is missing....
it will be great if anyone can help me here...

Safari not show on dock macbook pro using handoff continuity from my iphone 5s!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi People,
I just have problem with continuity not show safari in the dock when I'm playing on my iphone but if I use my ipad Yes safari show on the dock, all the rest of the apps Yes like calendar or mail, I did the same at the macbook pro of my wife and works perfectly we have the same macbook model.
It's very strange problem yesterday I did a full restore of my iphone thinking was the problem but not, my wife had a Iphone 5c and continuity works flawlessly.
My iphone is 5s and I have a macbook pro late 2013 retina.

Yes I do have Safari on the dock what i say it's the new function with OS Yosemite when you available the Handoff you can use your iphone and see in the left down corner a small window pop if you open in your iphone for example mail at your Mac will pop this window in the left corner.
In my case I can see most of the apps but not safari, the most estrange part is when I use my ipad yes they do pop this small window safari in my MAC.

Task bar not showing texts.

Is anyone having trouble with texts not showing up in the notification bar? When I was on iOS 6 it was fine. Then went to iOS 7 and now my texts don't show up. I'll get notifications from other apps. It's just with the messages. They don't pop up.

Check Settings > Notification Center > Messages:
"Show in Notification Center" should be "on".
"Show in Lock Screen" should be "on".
"Show alerts from everyone" should be checked.

Safari Not Showing Web Address in Address Bar after Lion Update

Sometimes the address bar is blank (save the "Go to this address" message.) Other times, it reads only the hompage address for a site I visit. For example, if I'm reading CNN.com, it will only show "www.cnn.com" no matter what page within cnn.com I go. So, for example, if I want to copy the address of a certain article, I cannot copy it from the address bar as that will only give me "http://www.cnn.com."
Other times, if I visit cnn.com, for example, and then create a new tab and go to apple.com, the new tab will not show apple's web address, but remain as cnn.com's address. If I decide I need to reload apple's website, it will reload CNN's as that is what's in the address bar.
Does anyone have a fix to this?

this happened to me too. for one reason or another, the url address disappeared and i kept getting "go to this address". but found this to work:
1. minimize your screen
2. under the "view" menu, click "show toolbar".
3. when you maximize your screen, the url address should now be there.
hope it works.

When I go to the main page on my forum using Safari, where it says "no new posts" at each section it shows up as a box with a blue question mark as if it's an image. When I go to the same page using any other browser, camino, firefox etc it shows up as text. There is no image there and I don't know why safari is looking for an image??
If I ctrl click on the question mark and copy image address it gives me an address that is a resulting 404 not found.
My forum is www.mezerik.com/forum Please any safari user have a look and tell me if you get the blue question mark.
Any ideas why this is happening and how it can be fixed. It only happens on that website.
