Safari on a Touch Screen

Hi!
Is there a chance to configure Safari this way that the behavior is the same as on the iPhone or iPod touch? I do not mean the keyboard, but the mouse. So I want to scroll the web page when I press down the mouse button and move it (similar to the touch on the phone). On the desktop version of Safari it selects the text.
Is there a way to change this behavior?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPad when I open safari will allow me to type a address and it will go to the web site but when it gets there the screen is darkened and it will not let me do anything but go to anouther adress. Touch screen doesn't work and tabs don't work.

I am having problems with safari. The screen is darkened and I can't use touch screen or tabe. But I can use the address bar and go to anouther website. Other then that I can see website but can't touch nothing, how do I fix

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Or
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or if those do not work - quit Safari
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Touch screen not working with internet link in safari

    Anyone has the same problem?
After 1.1.1 update, my touch screen occassionally fails to respond any tap on internet links in safari. no matter which web site you go to, no link will work on tap.
I tried to clean catch, cookies, etc. The only way to out of it is to reset the phone (both key pressed).
It happens about once or twice a day, not often enough for Apple people to duplicate it, but enough to bother me.

I have had the same exact problem occur 3 or 4 times since the update. I fix it by turning the phone off and on again.

  • How can I restore touch screen capability on safari?

The touch screen on my ipad2 when in safari has become inactive. I can open web pages but not click links in them. The web page has taken on a gray tint. The top right corner shows a padlock surrounded by a refresh symbol. I suspect this is something simple.  Any ideas?

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache or Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • The backlighting on safari suddenly dimmed and the touch screen is sporadically responsive - what to do to fix this?

the backlight in safari has suddenly dimmed and the touch screen is only sporadically responsive.  can't access bookmarks or see open pages.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History).
If that doesn't wrk then try closing Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is to try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • The touch screen is not operating while opening safari

the touch screen is not operating while opening safari in ipad

My favorites in in order ...iCab, Mercury, Atomic, Dolphn HD. iCab is a great choice with a ton of features. It really leaves Safari in the dust - IMO. I think I tired Terra at one point but I no longer have it so I really can't remember what it was like.
Any browser can freeze or crash on you once in a while on a device like this that has limited RAM like the iPad has. If you clear the cookies and the cache, you should be good to go again.

  • Touch screen not working in Safari

Bear in mind that the iPhone is the first cell phone I've ever had (yes, I'm an old geezer). Just got it last Friday.
But this morning while visiting a website all of a sudden I am no longer able to select any links, e.g. I tap a link but nothing happens.
The touch screen seems to be working fine in all other apps and controls.
    Thanks for any help!

That happened to me today too.
I fixed it by following these instructions from:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
    To turn completely off
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. When iPhone is off, incoming calls go straight to voicemail.
    To reset
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod Touch 1G "touch-screen freeze" after Wi-Fi connect (since 1.1.4) + log

    Hi everybody,
I have a big problem with the touch-screen since approximately 2 months.
    The problem is:
    1. I turn on my iPod Touch 1G (Firmware 3.0), works
    2. I activate my Wi-Fi (it connects, wi-fi bar is visible), works
Then the real problem starts (mainly while and after using Safari, sometimes even without using it)
After a few seconds the iPod freezes.
The strange thing is, only the touch-screen itself seems to be "deactivated"
If I leave the iPod calm for some minutes I am able to "unlock" it again.
All in all it seems, that the iPod deactivates the touch-screen after being connected to the Internet, because if I turn off the Wi-Fi connection, everything works fine.
This problem appeared since firmware 2.0 (1.1.3 worked fine i think) and now I have 3.0 and it is still the same problem.
Already downgraded, upgraded, jailbreaked, un-jailbreaked it. I tried everything.
Another solution to come to my Home-Screen is to Lock/Unlock a few times, sometimes this works.
I renewed the firmware more than once (10-15 times) and still do not ger rid of this problem. (Also in "recovery" mode)
    Same thing with Youtube:
    1. Starting Youtube
    2. (If I am able to search a video) selecting a video
    3. Video plays, but no touch-pad reaction anymore
I am not able to work with it anymore.
And I am sure it is a software problem, due to the fact the touch-screen reacts(!).
_A "forced restart" (Home + Lock Button hold for a few seconds) does not help, problem is still the same._
Thanks to everyone who has an idea.
I am happy about every kind of information which could help to solve this problem.
    Greetings
    Eimer
P.S. If you need some more information about the iPod e.g. do not hesitate to ask.
Here is my Log (out of the newest "iPhone Utility Program")

Has someone an idea how to get into the system of the iPod, that i am able to see what he is doing?
I already tried to works with XCode, but not able to connect to my device.
Also worked with the iPhone Utility, nevertheless a bit helpful.
Or a hint, how to destroy my actual firmware and to set up a new one, means setting up a completely (brand) new iPod like i bought it at the store?!
Support can not help me any more because my warranty is over ince 2 days.
    Thank you

  • Problem with touch screen. Please help!!!

Ok I bought an iPad about a month ago now. At first it worked perfectly, runs apps smoothly, etc. But then something happened to the touch screen, it just randomly like pressed itself, it went into apps on its own and zoom in and out while on safari just randomly. For about 3 weeks this issue disappeared, but now it happens again but more constantly and for more time please help. I think this video will explain my issue more clearly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1qyvHV43yg Please I just don't want this issue anymore. Any help will be appreciated.

OK...so it seems that many iPad owners have the same issue with the screen "self registering touches". You'll see multiple posts on the forums from "self touching" to "self registering" to "freaking out".
Well, I also have this annoying problem.
Trust me when I say that cleaning the screen, resets, charging, deleting apps, static, and so on haven't anything to do with causing or resolving this issue.
Here is a little tip to show you what is actually going on. Download a free app that shows you "screen touches". Harbor Master is one that I've heard of that led me to this...but I prefer to use that pocket pond app...only because I can just sit back and watch without having to move boats around.
...When you notice the problem, open up the app. I've noticed on mine that it only self registers touches along the side. Exact location is (when holding iPad in landscape position, home button on left) along the top of the screen...from top middle to the top right corner.
I have called Apple...the tech was polite and tried to help. ...But the only suggestions were to reset (as i've already done) then if that didn't work I was to do a reload while sync'd. He stated that if none of that worked then to take it to the store...
Since I am in Florida for the month and the nearest Apple store is 6hrs away...I will wait until I go back home HI and visit a store that is close by.

  • Grey  color cover the screen and can't use touch screen  when trying to open the internet.

Pleas help, yesterday when I tried to open an website on my I pad 2 and there was a grey color cover the screen and I can't use touch screen, i still can see the internet is working in the back ground of the screen and the webpage was opend but I just can't make the grey color screen disappear. Thanks million.

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reset the iPad. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Last thing to try is quit the app and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit Safari by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Safari icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • How to use photoshop 12 on a touch screen

how do u use photoshop 12 on a touch screen???

In some apps like safari you can hold for 2-3 seconds and then will appear a menu with options, such as copy, paste, select, etc...

  • Strange touch screen behaviour

I am having trouble with the touch screen of my iPhone 3G: The bottom row of buttons is not functioning properly when typing a SMS or typing in Safari. When I try to write a new SMS message in the chat view, I can't, because the bottom of the screen is not responding. In Safari I can't hit Google on the bottom row.
I was sure the bottom of the screen is broken. But then I ended up using the calculator and that one is working properly – also the bottom row of buttons!
So the touch screen doesn't seem to be a broken. Does anyone have any ideas...?
    Cheers,
    Antti

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after the 4th and last step, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • My ipad is working very slow touch screen is not wokring perfectly and apps keep switching off when i play

    IPad Mini, 64GB, IOS 8.1.
My IPad is working very slow.
The touch screen is not working as good.
Many problems when i play a game ( Real Racing 3) keeps on turning off when i play.
    Camera is also blurry.
    Screen sometimes goes blank.

    Try these basic troubleshooting steps.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

  • When Safari is in full screen, the window slides off screen to the right after a short period of time.  How do I fix this?

When Safari is in full screen, window slides off screen to the right after a few seconds.  Does not happen if Safari is not full screen.  How do I fix this?

You are probably inadvertently swiping to another full-screen app. Are you using a magic trackpad? Does this happen without you touching anything?
