Safari opens, but there is no window
This just started happening all of a sudden. overnight actually, i went to sleep w/ safari still open and when i came back the window was gone. I tried restarting the computer, shutting down completely, and repair permissions, but no luck. I can click on the safari icon to open it and it will open, however no window comes up. I have tried "new window" but still noting. my software is all up to date. Any suggestions???
I just clicked on a youtube link in my mail and it automatically opened up safari. No window showed up but i could hear the video playing in the background...

I appreciate any feedack.I am having this problem as well, but it only occurs when launching Safari using the "Open at login" feature.
Opening at login launches the app but not a new browser window. Standard launching of the app automatically opens a new browser window. Anyone got any ideas what's up? -
IWeb is open but there is no window...
I got a pretty strange problem with my iWeb...
Everything was fine until I duplicate a page, which I often do. iWeb stopped responding so I forced quit it. But now when I open it again, there is no more window... The application is open for sure, but that's it !
Does anyone know how to fix this ?
I tried to open the "domain" file (from the library), but it doesn't change a thing ! It's a little creepy... And I really need to get it back !

1. Quit iWeb
2. ~ Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWeb.plist (drag to Trash)
3. Start iWeb ~ iWeb will automatically re-create its plist file with the default settings. -
Something happened with Firefox where all that comes up when I open Firefox are my toolbars and a place to enter a URL, but there is no window. I have to enter full screen mode to view websites. How do I get back to a regular browsing window? I have no idea how this even happened.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

iMovie '11 - when I open iMovie the application starts, but there is no window, If i plug in my iPhone the window will appear from the top right corner, but disappear again, even if i use a drop down menu from the top menu bar and select, say 'New Project', it will appear from the top right corner, let me choose a new project, only to disappear again into that same corner.
Argh I'm having the same problem! I always use imovie, and haven't had this prob before... apprantly imovie 11 is full of bugs like this. Anyone know if theres any way of downgrading?

i got a message in gmail "this version of Safari is no longer supported. Pls upgrade to a supported browser." When I click on 'supported browser' it takes me to Apple's Safari site but there is no 'upgrade now' button. What am I missing?
Google seem to have decided in the last week or so that Safari 5.x, which is the newest Safari version available for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is "not supported" any more, even though there are many reasons for staying with these OS X versions.
Try this (at your own risk, but it works for me), as it seems to remove the message by tricking Gmail into thinking your Safari version is newer:
-- Quit Safari
-- Locate the following file (location depends on your OS X version):
OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/WebKit2.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Info.pl ist
OS X 10.5 Leopard and older:
/System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Info.plist
-- Drag the file to your Mac's desktop to make a copy. Also make a safe copy somewhere else eg your Documents folder, as if you lose or mess up the file Safari will not launch at all. Having a backup browser is also recommended.
-- Double-click it to open it in TextEdit
-- Locate the CFBundleVersion value (the last line in the file that has numbers in it) and increment the second digit of it to the required version of Safari e.g. Safari 6 now seems to be the minimum version that Google support so change the second number from 5 to 6 (don't change anything else, only the change the second number). The value is different depending on your OS X version but as an example, for Snow Leopard 6534.59.10 becomes 6634.59.10
-- Drag the file back from the desktop to its original location, choose the option to replace the old version, and enter your password when prompted.
-- Run a permissions repair in Disk Utility to set the permissions in the file back to what they should be (not required, but good practice).
-- Launch Safari and test Gmail. -
ITunes Doesn't Open but the K Drive Window Does

I was grounded and my iPod was taken form me for about a month or so. Before that everything was fine. But, when I got it back I had to Restore it buy that wasn't really a problem. The thing I am now having trouble with is that when I plug my iPod into the computer the iTunes software doesn't open, but the K drive window does. Which is the drive my iPod is labeled under in "My Computer". Does anyone know the answer to thins question help would really be appreciated.

I just forgot to say because I know it will come up that yes i cann see my Ipod when I open up iTunes. It ios jsut that the wrong thing is now being opend up and ti is sort of annoying. -
Noticed a pretty obvious bug in 5.0 ctrl+shift+d will bookmark all sites open but there is NO reference in any of the file menus, where is it located if you didn't know the shortcut from a previous version?
Right-click '''on''' tab to see that menu item.

Safari opens but crashes when loading any page
I recently upgraded to Safari 6.0 (7536.25) on Lion 10.7.4. Now Safari opens but crashes as soon as I try to load a page. I've tried most of the fixes that I could find in the recent posts:
different pages to be sure it isn't page specific
disabled all extensions
renamed the extension folder so it wouldn't be accessible (even though all were disabled)I noticed that Safari recreated the folder still with all extensions disabled but just in case I clicked the Off switch at the top of the Extension list
renamed cache.db to get a new one
renamed webpageicons.db
Reinstalled Safari from the link in one of the forum posts

Have downloaded iso 7.0 to my iphone 4s everything works except when i click on itunes store it opens but there is no content there.Has anyone suffered the same glich or know a solution this problem?.Tanx

If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.

One day randomly for no reason whatsoever, I opened up firefox on my mac and it just said firefox on the upper left as if it was open. the little upside down triangle appeared below the icon on the dock, like it was open. However, there are no windows anywhere. I click file and new window and nothing.
I right click the firefox icon on the dock and it says that there windows for example, my home page, but there is NOTHING.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps doing the same thing.
Your website has NO SUPPORT whatsoever and it has taken me a half hour clicking around to get to this portion where I can write what the issue is and no one will ever probably see this so whats the point. I guess I'm stuck with fucking safari now.

Safari open, but no browser window
Running Safari 3.0.4... I leave my system running daily... Sometimes when I try to open Safari, the icon bounces correctly, but there is no browser window... I double check to see if the application is open from the dock and it shows that the window is there... I even checked with Activity Monitor and it show it is running... The only fix I do now is just run the reset system from the Finder menu... No alarms, crashes, or warnings are displayed... No other applications is affected like this... Just Safari... Any suggestions???

When Safari does this, do you register an open window under Safari's 'Window' menu? There have been reports of a curious bug in Spaces where if you've assigned an application to a particular space and then disable Spaces, the application's windows can sometimes wander off. In these cases, it helps to re-enable Spaces, clear its list of application-assignments, and then disable it again.

The book downloads and is instructed to open in DE. The DE app window pops up, but there is no book, and I am unable to move the book to the app.

All of a sudden, I try to open Safari -- the app shows in the title bar, but I get no page -- I've tried opening a second page, but nothing. When I quit, it reminds me that I have two pages open -- but all I see is my desktop. Any ideas???

Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and move the "cache.db" file to the Trash.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder then open the Caches folder then op the com.apple.Safari folder.
After you move the cache.db file to the Trash, relaunch Safari.
