So what could be wrong?

1: Check the status of all your plug-ins here and upgrade those out of date
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
2: While your at it, install Firefox and see if your problems continue and in what browser(s)
3: Anything from Google installs a rootkit auto-updater that causes problems, consider using Google Maps instead.
4: Java shouldn't be used at all, Flashback and OS X/Crisses malware depend upon it, Spotlight search for Java Preferences and disable, also in your browser(s) preferences/add-ons.
5: Silverlight is best totally uninstalled and then reinstalled between updates.
6: Uninstall or disable any plug-in your not actively using,  this is hard to do on a individual basis in Safari as it gives a all or nothing option. Use Firefox instead which does.
The purpose is that your more exposed with the more plug-ins you have installed, since any of them can be called up by any website you visit. So to reduce your exposure, you reduce the amount of active plug-ins running on all sites. Consider using Firefox + NoScript as it will disable all scripts, add-ons unless you click on the toolbar button.
7: Don't use any Safari version less than Safari 6, there has been a slew of security fixes in Safari 6 and so far no updates for 10.6 or below, so the malware writers are already getting busy exploiting earlier versions. Over 50% of OS X users are on 10.6 too.  Use another browser that gets timely security updates, Chrome or Firefox if your on 10.6 or below.
With 10.6 now, we are entering the Apple F.U. stage where they start to not giving a dam about us and our security because we didn't upgrade to their crappy 10.7 or 10.8 or can't. Apple only cares about their latest OS version and pays some attention to the last version., only because they are only interested in selling hardware.

  • Adobe TV is openning but it is playing only some of the videos.

I am unable to see the videos of  "Building a data driven Flex application" module of day 1 . Moreover it is not playing a single video of day 2. I did not check for further days.
    Thanks,
    Aakash Garg.

That sounds as if whoever created the PDFs was using software in a trail or demo mode, and it added a watermark as a result. There's nothing that you can do to remove it in Safari.

  • IDVD plays only some of audio!?!

I am going from an iPhoto slideshow with audio to iDVD. In the preview as well as the final burned DVD, only some of the songs are on it. I have two songs, each playing twice. One is from a CD and the other from iTunes.
    Any suggestions????????????
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

my guess is that for the music that will not play, the mp3 file has some different characteristics and PSE can't use it. Perhaps it has Digital Rights Manangment or perhaps the mp3 contains album art .
So I recommend that you investigate the source and format of that specific mp3 file.
If you don't find any resolution after checking the above considerations,
then (as a means of troubleshooting)
I suggest that (instead of doing the Burn ti Disc-DVD) you Output a WMV file which you save in a folder that you designate on your PC Hard Drive.
Then playback that WMV file from your hard drive using Windows Media Player.  Does all the music play or is the same music missing ?

  • Ipod will play only some songs

I recently was playing around with other music software, other than itunes. I used media monkey to put some songs onto my ipod. Everything I put onto my ipod from media monkey workes fine, but since I put some songs on with media monkey, all of my previous songs that I put on with itunes now no longer work. Those songs don't play through my ipod or through itunes. Now in itunes, the only songs that play are those loaded with media monkey and all the ones originally loaded with itunes has an exclamation point where there is usually the speaker icon when a song is playing. Does anyone know why I cannot play the original songs through my ipod or through itunes??

To be honest, when you use unsupported, third party apps, you are unnessiarly monkinying around with your data.
I'm the first one to dislike Apple, but the iPod works great with iTunes as-is, and unless you're gonna run linux on your iPod or change it's GUI images, there's no reason not to use their included software. It's not bloated, it's organized and comprehensive, and doesn't take over your pc like AOL or Norton.
My suggestion :Abandon ship. Wipe the iPod, remove all media from your HD, remove media ape or whatever, and itunes, remove all iTunes folders, then start from scratch.
When you do unsupported actions like using lame 3rd part software, don't expect too much support. Apple is always changing the iPod's OS and firmware, and it takes 3rd parties time to reverse-engineer it and adjust. So that causes alot of issues. Stick with iTunes, bud.

  • Only some video from iPhoto will import

I took a series of videos using my digital camera all within one hour of each other. iMovie successfully generated thumbnails for some of them, but not all. They are all .mov files, and the content is all essentially the same. No one clip is much larger than another, and I can't think of any reason I can only view two of the eight clips in iMovie. Does anyone know why this is happening?

If you mean "Open With" in your operating system, I am surprised that you get any images to import this way. As far as I know, Adobe has (tried to) disable this as a method of importing photos, and so I doubt you will find any help here in this forum on this matter, as this is not a function of Lightroom (although you used to be able to do it in earlier versions).

  • Safari plays same youtube video when trying to play a different one.

Does anyone have this problem in youtube when you click on a new video the same video you were viewing comes up with the name and comments of the video you want to view ? This problem does not occur Chrome, i was ok when i had OS X10.6 but then i upgraded to 10.7 and then 10.9 i have the problem in both of them.
Does anyone know how to correct this as it is very annoying the only way i can view another video is to close Safari and do a new search.
    All assistance welcome.
    Thanks
    Kirk

    Empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video.

  • Only some videos are syncing

I've had this ipod for almost 4 years now and I've never had this problem before. I added a bunch of videos to my itunes, both in .m4v and .mp4 formats. However, none of them will sync. I tried changing the formats from Movies to TV shows to Music videos and they still wouldn't sync.
In addition, I made sure that all movies were being synced and the videos all showed up on the list of movies. Out of the 36 items, only 16 items synced. Help?

I've had the exact same problem for awhile now, I've been able to narrow down that ABSOLUTELY none of the .m4v or .mov work, they never synch, so i don't even bother converting it to that. As for the .mp4 's that don't work, I either convert the file to a higher quality file format, then convert it back to .mp4, which sometimes solves the problem, or, if the original was something other than .mp4, simply reconvert the original file. But there's still some files that for some reason refuse to synch to iPod. Hope this helps a little. I personally use WinFF for all my converting.

  • 2G Shuffle plays only some of the music loaded on it

As the subject says, when I download songs (either by Autofill or dragging from an iTunes playlist), all the songs appear to be moved to my 2G Shuffle. However, when I try to play them, either in random or straight-through, only about 1 in 4 will actually play. Nevertheless, they continue to appear on the shuffle when I reconnect to iTunes. I have attempted restoring multiple times, and the same thing keeps happening. Also, the selection of songs that it will play is consistent. For instance, here in the summary for one of the songs that will play:
    Kind: AAC Audio file
    Size: 7 MB
    Bit Rate: 256 kpbs
    Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
    Date Modified: 12/27/06 12:01 PM
    Play Count: 1
    Last Played: 1/6/07 4:34 PM
    Volume: -10.6 dB
    Profile: Low Complexity
    Channels: Stereo
Encoded with: iTunes v7.0.2, Quicktime 7.1.3
Here is one that will not:
    Kind: AAC audio file
    Size: 4.4 MB
    Bit Rate: 128 kpbs
    Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
    Date Modified: 12/27/06 11:59 AM
    Play Count: 0
    Last Played: Not available.
    Volume: -12.7 dB
    Profile: Low Complexity
    Channels: Stereo
Encoded with: iTunes v.6.0.4, Quicktime 7.0.4
Has anyone seen this before or have any clue how to fix it? Thank you in advance.

How do you have your Shuffle set up to sync music?

  • Why does my I Tunes play only some of my library when it can't access the external hard drive from which I imported some of the music? My esternal hard drive has been corrupted, but I    thought I Tunes would have "saved" songs I dragged to it.

Some of my ITunes library came from CDs, some from an external hard drive with songs  in it.  My external hard drive went bad, which I wouln't have thought would have affected my Itunes library or the songs I had previously imported to it from the external drive.  But now the Itunes cannot locate many of those songs. Is there some process of importing/saving that is different when you import from CD? Hope someone can help.....MN

    Hi MNinPungo,
When adding music to iTunes from another location (for example, an external hard drive), iTunes can either make a local copy of the file in the iTunes Library or create a pointer to the original file in the original location, depending on the preferences you have set. You may find the following article helpful:
    Add to Library
So you can access content quickly, iTunes indexes all music, audio book, and video files that you add to iTunes. This index is called the iTunes library. When you add content to the library, iTunes adds an entry for each audio or movie file to your index. The files could be in your Home folder, somewhere else on your hard drive, on an external hard disk, or on another computer that you're accessing through file sharing.
To add files to your iTunes library, you can use these options:
Drag files from the Finder to the appropriate icon on the left side of the iTunes window.
Choose File > Add to Library (on Windows, choose Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library) and select the song or folder that you want to add.
iTunes adds entries to your iTunes library for the selected files and copies the files to your iTunes Music folder (if you selected that option in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences).

  • Plays ONLY some songs when burning dvd

Can anyone help me out here? I have 4 songs in our play list for the dvd...when we preview they ALL play, when we burn only 2 or 3 play. What is up with this?
    Thanks,

Suggest you create a disc image and then burn the DVD. File/Save As Disc Image...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=164927
This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (not the .img, the one below) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. Your SuperDrive tray will open. Insert a recordable DVD. (DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Then click the Burn button.
-->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and did change in Tiger.
b Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD 5 project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

  • Apple motion 5 template drop zones play only 1080p video clips. 720p will play outside of dropzone.

I am also getting a -1 error when trying to export with the 720p clip in a dropzone.  I bought the clip stock and they didn't offer this one in 1080p.  Is there any explanation as to why this clip will not run in the dropzone but does on the canvas?

You shouldn't be "loading" drop zones in Motion. You should be doing that in FCPX (as long as the drop zone source well is published.) You do not have to use Motion to "bake" video for import into FCPX. Install the template for FCPX [ place the effect folder in ~/yourHomeFolder/Movies/Motion Templates/<TypeOfEffect>/<CategoryFolder - create a new one if you want>/<place effect folder here> ]
The types of effects are Effects, Titles, Generators, Transitions.
The effect you bought came in a folder. That folder structure must be maintained for FCPX. That usually means: a Motion document (.moef, .moti, .motr or .motn file), 2 .pngs and a Media folder. If any of these are missing, it will not work in FCPX.
To use the drop zone in FCPX, apply the effect to the clip (or if it is a Title, place the title over the storyline); click on the Drop Zone source well, then click on the clip you want to apply to the drop zone from either the Event browser or the storyline. You'll see a "2-up" display, and you should see an "Accept" button in the viewer to finalize the application to the drop zone.
If you have the same problems in FCPX, let us know!

    Hi,
Unfortunately this feature is not included in Firefox at this point, but you can suggest it by following the instructions below.
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox ''Help'' menu and select ''Submit Feedback...'' or use [https://input.mozilla.org/feedback this link]. Why do some videos opened/played from Safari only open to about a 2" square. Can't get a full screen view? I have Safari 5.0.6 and QuickTime Player 7.7. Thanks

    Hi, Daryl -
If you moved the G4 around to make room for the new machine, that could have jarred the processor loose. It's not unusual for that to happen to an older machine, though it usually happens to RAM or cables, not to the processor.
Years of heating and cooling can loosen a connection and cause some oxidation of the contacts; subsequent moving of the machine, coupled with just a bit of thumping or torquing of the chassis, can cause the connection to fail. Reseating the connection not only makes it secure again, it usually wipes the oxidation off of the contacts.
